If a fight is going to be limited by time, then if the fight is not won by either fighter declare it a draw. I am not a fan of the 10 point score system. it works good in boxing(sometimes) where it is spread out over more time. but in mma there has got to be a better way to score a fight. in the old ufc days, there were no time limits. this opened the door for some long boring fights, but at least the fight lasted until one man won and one man lost. as a former wrestler i can appreciate shields ground game but this was as bad of awet blanket fight i have ever seen. shields may have won the fight on the judges side. but he did not win any respect from the fans.
