I think this could be a night of underdogs! I’m doing a first, I actually invited 1 friend from work over and his teenage son. I’m usually very strict about watching mma by myself, but this guy knows his stuff. He says I’m a sicko because I’m the Mortenson of mma…I’ve been literally breaking down film for 2 weeks. I’m 100% convinced all the underdogs (may not win) have a great shot at pulling off upsets!
LOL at the strictness of having other people over. I feel the same way. My brother in law is the only one I have over and he is a quiet guy.
I usually watch with buddies, but they always ask me what the blogosphere consensus is.

Sorry, Kev old boy… if there was ever an event that is NOT the ‘night of underdogs’, this is it. Oh well, at least you’re not spending it on blow.
LOL, but it very well could be! No other event in recent history does all the underdogs have legit chances to win. Bisping by decision, alves by KO and Mir has the best chance IMO! I could lose all 3, but all 3 should be good fights!

I’m the same way! There’s very few people I allow over to watch the fights with me because most people just aren’t into it enough. I’ve narrowed it down to my dog, and my girlfriend. Just because my dog can’t get me another beer when I’m out!

Great show as always, I just wish they would have done more on predictions but I am assuming that they will do that on their weigh in special tomorrow.
And it is nice to hear them acknowledging that problems with Dana may prevent certain fighters from making it in to the HOF even though as Randy stated: “If I am in, he should definitely be in” (referring to Tito)
I’m sick of the HOF already. There needs to be a time limit after retirement. Hughes was a better champion than chuck, just not as exciting, why isn’t he being inducted? Mask sold T-shirts, but is more deserving than Chuck (in death). He took care of mma fighters in all organizations! Dana needs an independent council of voters and have some sort of regulations on the HOF!
Well then, F the ufc hall of fame. Lets start a Mania MMA Hall of Fame. If we all chip in a little cash, we might even be able to have an actual Hall of Fame building to make ours a little more legit than the UFC’s. Any input on how we can vote and nominate would be appreciated.
Yeah! It will be just like the UFC’s Hall of Fame except the fighters won’t show up to the induction ceremony and no one will give a shit.
ZING!!! haha. In all seriousness though, I really don’t care about the HOF. I was just pointing out that certain fighters are basically fucked lol
they said chuck wanted to be inducted with mask. so since chuck is a shoe-in, and mask just died, he agreed to go in early. I also think it was a ploy by dana to ask chuck now to get him to retire.
i know you’ll say mask doesn’t deserve it – based on your older posts, but i think he’s without question worthy.
i also think dana and the fertita’s should be able to control who goes into the UFC hof. the MMA hof is another story.

I know there are not many easy wins in the ufc but I think Nate Diaz should have no problem taking out Melvin in the next fight night. His chin, judo throws and slick submission skills should be way to much for Melvin. Also, in my opinion Marquardt is a better fighter and would beat Bisping or Henderson. The way he finished off Willy G in his last fight was awesome. I would love to see him rematch Anderson but it looks like the Bisping/Hendo winner will get the next shot. I think Bisping takes it via decision but he will get smoked by Anderson. I don’t see anything that he could possibly do to Anderson.

I gotta say I was disappointed in this episode. I was hoping for a fight by fight break-down with predictions and other coverage. But instead we get 5 greatest moments in UFC history according to Randy Couture. And Who is the best MMA/actor?
Sorry, but I am not impressed. You have 3 big time fighters on the panel and the only one asked for a prediction was Rashad?
If this truly is going to be the biggest MMA PPV in the history of the sport then they need to cover it as such. They need to focus less on the gimmicky segments (ie, Full House, MMA for Dummies) and focus more on what is actually happening.

I agree tanner, not even just with this mma live episode. Coverage for 100 pre fight and predictions etc has been a little lackluster all around.
I think they would have if they werent doing an hour live preshow to ufc 100 sat night.
They already said in the episode they’re waiting to do all the predictions and breakdown for the preview show. Can’t give it all away now, I know i’ll be watching.
