this is just a repost of mine from yesterday, for those that didnt get to debat the points i made~
for all the peeps that are on the brockness cockness~ this is what the stinks thinks of lesnar,
brockness doesn’t have the power most are thinking~ he has never put someone out with one punch..
aside from the temple shot delivered to randy, brock didnt have mir or heath in serious trouble from the “initial punch’ that knocked them down..
both mir and heath were VERY cohearent.. not to mention mir took about four or five hammerfists to the back of the dome, and he still stood up fine..
peeps think brock launched heath across the cage with one punch~ get real!
brockness didnt make him go that far~ heath clearly rolled with the punch as he hit the ground..
and mir wasn’t in immediate trouble when he was dropped either[ off the 1st punch after the stand up]
the only fighter brock dropped with 1 punch and had in trouble was randy~ and he took it on the temple at 45 years of age and still wasn’t ko’d on the one punch~
when brock starts crippling peeps with one punch i will agree with all the people that think brock can kill with a punch..
he has only finished one ufc fight~
mir and heath both took his gnp~ and also took punches standing~
mir will win this fight~ its a lock!
I see Brock shooting in and taking Mir down.
In a methodical way, Brock will keep his massive weight on Mir and grind him out with GnP.
Brock will “control” Mir ala wrestling style and just bully him with his body weight.
IF Mir submits Brock it will be in the 1st 2 rounds, otherwise that sweat + Brock’s size/power will be too much of a lost cause.
Mir wins by “breaking down” Brock with his striking and dancing…I would recommend body shots and not head shots.
Or maybe trying to jump on his back and work his jits?
I can def see Mir putting a body-lock on Brock from behind and working a RNC or a transition sub…
great post oj!! well thought out and broken down~
Brock has one punch KO power, just a matter of time until he puts one on the button. The power that makes him so scary though, is his takedown and hold down power, he can ragdoll 250lb guys like they were kids and once they are down the only hope they have of getting up is a merciful ref. He still needs to learn how to finish the fight on the ground and to be more accurate with his strikes but again that comes with time and training. As far as sub defense – we are gonna see on 11th. And what i would really like to see is Brock to put a sub down on someone – not Mir for obvious reasons but his next opponent say Cain or Carwin. A Kimura would suit him well, you’ve gotta think his ground control, balance and gorilla strong arms would make the Kimura a good choice.
Aussies look here – Foxtel wont be showing UFC 100 live on PPV. They usually play the event live at 12 pm on sundays if the fights are in vegas. They only have one channel open for PPV events and there is some Australian boxer fighting that they are putting on instead. The UFC 100 PPV will start at 6am monday morning, i mean who the fuck is going to buy a taped show before dawn on a monday morning, fukwits. Zuffa can kiss goodbye to any PPV revenue from Australia on 100 now and there is no way im watching it on yahoo again, the quality of the video is shit and its more expensive than the normal ppv. FuckGAN
stinky im a little concerned about your post…
Brock hasn’t put anyone out yet with one punch? and you think that is because he lacks punching power?
It’s a matter of technique and timing you can’t just knock guys out without any standup skill, he hasn’t hit a guy with that big shot yet that’s why, or actually he has and he broke Herring’s face, Herring saw the punch coming which makes it almost impossible to get knocked out and it still broke his face and the Mir knockdown was almost a jab…
Lesnar by childish tantrum hammerfists in the first.
Murr was about two or three hammer fists from being done when Il Moustache saved his ass. An open question to anyone who thinks Murr takes this fight: How is Murr going to sub Lesnar if Lesnar doesn’t go to the ground? If Lesnar wants to keep it standing then it stays standing. Murr has no input on this matter.
true dat
how would u know he was ‘two or three’ shots away??
mir took the same gnp seconds after the stand up~
u make no sense sometimes pw~
did you see when Mazzagatti saved his life and stood him up? Mir was all wobbly! He couldnt have been to far from DONE!
Have a nice holiday weekend, Maniacs!
See you all on Monday!
enjoy~
I don’t care. I just want to see this fight already.
I like both fighter so I’m really excited to see who wins.
if u dont care~ why comment??..
what i care about is getting a good opinion on someone, so what pissed me off with the lee murray segment was having some blogger talk about him just because he wrote some online article about him, all the while they have a man in studio who has trained with murray, seen the ortiz fight and who has recieved regular mail from him while in jail : PAT FUCKING MILETICH!!
anyone here really getting sick of mir talking about speed, i was already sick of him before that but for a man to say his speed will beat brock is ludacris, after the first fight he could not get over how fast brock is, now he thinks this new found speed will negate brocks stand up, i mean look at the herring fight, herring is a stand up fighter but not for the life of him did he see that big right coming from brock, and what most fighters will agree on is that brock is a 280 plus pound man who moves like a 155 pounder!
I was about to write the same thing about Miletich. They really blew that one. I wanted to hear about Tito getting KO’d, and Chuck dropping all takers.
Stink that initial shot took Herring out of the fight; he broke his orbital. I don’t know what you think when you think power, but a 250 lbs man tumbling head over heels with a busted eye from a shot is an indication of some pretty good power. Herring’s just a tough bastard.
And imagine whats going to happen when he actually starts to get comfortable with letting his hands go. Part of that lack of power you’re talking about is inexperience in striking. They get a good solid wrap on his hands and he really gets behind a solid hay maker, it’s lights out.
odamn~ my little cousin broke his step dads orbital bone with an elbow.. hes about 145 compaired to the 200+ dad.
it doesnt take much to cave that in, with a solid shot.
no doubt he has power~ look at the size of the man..
im saying he doesn’t have that ko quality.. not yet, probably inexperience like u say..
brockness hit frank in the back of the dome 5 times and frank still stood right up..
he hit randy45 in the temple and still didnt ko him of the inital punch.. he had to get down and hammer 15 punches to put ‘45′ out..
Yea I’ll give you the orbital bone is weak; but the tumbling backward head over heals was still pretty good
I think he should go Wandi style on Frank and bum rush him fists flyin right out the gate.
heath clearly rolled with the punch as he hit the ground, rewatch it..
brock did rock him, but that was a defensive roll..
enough with the ‘he sent him flying crap’ i hear too often..
brock is best suited to take it to the ground and defend subs smarter..
i think he is going to stand, and thats why i have mir winning~
Crazy talk Stink man, but we’ll see
His ground and pound is all just fast hammerfists he doesn’t put alot of power into them, if he had proper GnP technique and put some power into his punches he would KO anyone..
I think Heath did extremely well to go the distance with that injury from the start of the match – Bob Sapp keeled over and cried like a baby after Cro Cop did the same to him.
Yeah I disagree, Brock has tremendous power, he just lacking technique. If he landed cleanly on Couture… DONE, If was something more than just a simple jab against Mir DONE and if he landed on Herrings Jaw then maybe done I say maybe because he is a tough SOB!
That is a lot of ifs but you are talking about power and I think Brock has it, it is the technique that is stopping him from a one punch KO along with a lot of 1 punch knock outs come from someone else coming in to throw at the same time and no one has been dumb enough to show caution to the wind with Brock and people throw and immediately cover up.
nah Brock will win the fight and Mir will finally disappear
nice points~ i dont know if i can agree though..
but ur points are well worth the consideration~
It’s not Ko power that makes Brock a great fighter it’s his ability and strength to control were the fight takes place. Yes with his experience he’ll make more mistakes than a Mir or any experienced fighter for that matter but so would any fighter with his experience the fact that he is were he today in this short of time is simply amazing nothing any fighter in the world has came close to. The question is how much will he improve from his last fight and how much can he improve? I think it’s safe to say he is a much better fighter than he was against Mir the first time question is how much better is Mir than the first time.
While it’s definitely true Lesnar hasn’t KO’d anyone with one punch, his striking has been a significant factor in each of his fights. Where he’s been suspect is what he’s done after he’s knocked down opponents. He’s seemed to rush and not follow up as effectively as those with more experience. Or…in the Herring fight he went for a tackle after the knockdown rather than something more likely to end the fight. It made for a cool video piece but didn’t put Herring in much danger. I expect this is an area he’ll improve on, but I still have questions about Lesnar’s ability to think in the cage under pressure. I’m impressed so far with Lesnar’s development as a fighter, especially that his striking has been a factor. I believe most felt including myself, that Lesnar would be almost exclusively a wrestler and striking would be an afterthought and lag way behind. All that said I’m actually pulling for Mir, but I do expect Lesnar to win the fight.
Everyone has good points but you hit it on the head Puck Brocks ability to control were the fight takes place is what makes Brock such a good fighter or any fighter for that matter. Is Mir going to be able to control were the fight takes place? I don’t think so but Mir has the ability to capitalize on his opponents mistakes that makes this fight more even. ten more fights under Brocks belt and Mir wouldn’t have much of a chance.
I like Mir in this fight as well. A different outcome would not shock me, however.
lesnar was manhandling mur before he got careless and left a leg gift wrapped at mirs armpit. he was unable to roll out of it, and immediatley pounded the mat in frustration. because he knew he made a rookie mistake. brock has improved tremendously since the first fight. mir may have better conditioning but his skill set is already developed for the most part. mir is not good enough to get lucky twice. the scary thing about lesnar is his work ethic and ability to improve. brock may never have ko power but he doesnt need to. all he has to do is play it safe with jabs and straight shots until he can get his opponent down. i wish if anything he would improve his gnp those hammer shots are a waste of power. if he ever learns how to reign down hell fire someone is gonna die. lesnar will win by ud.
Agree with all except the last statement. Regardless of who wins, there is no way this fight goes full 5 rounds. Even a well conditioned Mir has a small gas tank. I’d be fairly surprised if we don’t have a good idea who will win mid-way through the 1st round. The longer the fight goes, the more it will favor Lesnar, and by longer, I mean anything beyond the mid 2nd round. Great point about the hammer shots.
your right. mir usually strugggles to endure 3 rounds, 5 rounds with a 285 lb freak is going to be nearly impossible. i dont see this fight being close. it all depends on how cautious lesnar is. granted mir is in better shape, seems motivated, and is always dangerous. i still think it was a fluke he won the first fight. i guess what i meant to say was if brock does not murder him because he plays it safe, then he will win an easy ud. mir has no chance.
If the fight goes into the third round Lesnar will probably win from Mir simply passing out. I find it histarical that this guy always claims he is in the best shape of his life, but can gasses out at the end of the second round. Lesnar does not need to have KO power in a single punch. He just needs to not be stupid when he takes Mir down in the first round. After 3 minutes or so of Mir trying to get out from under Lesnar he will gas. Then in the second Lesnar can just keep it on the feet were Mir will have no gas left to box and Brock can just pick him apart.
I am not saying this is how it will go, but it could easily be the outcome.
I do not like Mir in this fight. He has an inflated opinion of himself. He is not fast on his feet, NOG just looked like he was sleeping in the ring. I hear an interview with Mir stating Lesnar was not going to be able to throw him around like he has others………please.
Mir is his own worst enemy and will hopefully pay for it on the 11th.
i dont know what mirs strategy is. is he trying to put doubt in the big guys little brain or does mir really think he is that good. i know one thing brock wants revenge from the first fight. he is already motivated. i would not want to piss that guy off.
im staying with brock on this one, gnp tko somewhere round the end of the first or second round, lesnar has big power its obvious and combined with speed is dangerous for anyone.
Other picks..
alves
bisping
belcher
IU like your picks except Alves, I think GSP will show you who the best 170 really is.
man i want mir to win sooooo bad im scared for him, i know it sounds dumb, but i beena fan of mir since he was in the darkest days of his career and now that its his tim eim really happy to see a guy i liked forever is now at his old lever but even better, he has wat it takes to win this fight and i think he will..
What a waste of 30 minutes, I thought it was about UFC 100. Boring shit, zzzzzzzzzzz.

Haha such an akward cast, I don’t think any of those guys have ever hung out off the set.
Am I the only person that completely disagreed with their little buzzworthy segment? I don’t think that Rich Franklin and Urijah Faber have much in common other than the fact that they are both fighters. Faber took Brown to a decision with a broken right hand in a very entertaining fight. Franklin got brutalized in both fights, a complete one sided, to the hospital you go bashing. And I doubt the result would be different if they fought 10 more times. Brown and Faber on the other hand would have very competitive fights and I think Faber could come out on top at least 1 out of every 4 fights.
I just want to see the fight already. I don’t care who wins or loses.
