Wiman got shafted. I watched the fights with 4 other people and all of us thought Wiman had rounds 1 and 3.
I didn’t even think this fight was all that.

I did think it was close but I thought Stout deserved it
i thought that the liver punch that stout rocked wiman with was the biggest thing in the fight so i give it to stout
I thought Wiman was going to win but it was really close so I could see it going to Stout, who I wanted to win. If you want to make sure you win dont let it go to the judges. If you cant finish you take your chances with the judges and get what you get.
I gave the fight to Stout and hoped he would take it cause he won the real “fight”..
Stout was also robbed against Clementi last time in Canada!

The decision going to Sam Stout was a joke and embarrassment. Its clear that the officials are boxing officials and dont give enough thought into takedown and ground position. They clearly gave stout round 1 b/c they dont know anything about ground fighting. This is why sooo many people including dana white have called for the mma officials to be mma certified and not use the boxing scoring on there cards. Wiman got shafted but I’m sure the ufc will take care of him the right way.
I like Wiman, and am actually a fan, he lost that fight in the second round! Could have easily been a 10-8 round (unless he got extra points for fixing his hair and looking at the clock).

Alphamale, I think it was you yesterday bent out of shape saying Anderson Silva would destroy GSP. I may not be a fan, but I do respect his accomplishments! Leites is twice as big as GSP and had no chance at a takedown or holding him down. GSP comes forward, another thing Silva loves! My wife is the biggest GSP fan and she said the other night “GSP shouldn’t fight Silva, he would get killed.” this is coming from someone with great knowledge of the sport and a realistic view with nothing in it for her! I appreciate you coming to read my comments, I too like yours. We may not always agree, but you are good at making your point and have swayed me on a few occasions!

ok, so round 1 was very close and round 2 could have easily been 10-8. either way, if you fight a close fight, fix your hair 30 times, look at the clock every 3 seconds for 2 minutes, you screwed yourself! Like I said, I like wiman, but I sent John a text at the beginning of the fight, wiman looked like he was on one! FIHLO!!!!
Kevin, in all seriousness, would “fixing your hair” and looking at the clock be a factor in scoring a round/fight? I’m not taking a shot at you, I’m just curious.
If I’m a judge and I’m judging octagon control as a criteria, a guy looking up at the clock once is no big deal. A guy hurt by a body shot looking constantly for the round to end (to save him) weighs heavily on my mind!
I’m sorry, but Leites is TWICE AS BIG AS GSP? I wasn’t aware there was a 340 pound weight class.

Stout won, and the ref that scored A.Silva/Leites 48-47 should never ever judge a fight again.. Being that close to give the challenger the fight for doing nothing is scary

second, mcarthur, how did the second go to wiman? he was dropped with a liver punch and was looking for a way out the rest of the round!

I have an extensive knowledge base of women (I’m gay), and based on what I know, women who have a large amount of knowledge about MMA or at least enjoy it quite a bit, TEND to be one of these three things: 1. Female fighter or, 2. Fat, or 3. A fag hag(essentially, ugly as balls). This is not always the case but I have begun to notice the trend.

I was at a bar and the only people that cheered for stout to win were clearly Canadians. Wiman in my eyes won the first round with takedowns and ground control. This is why people including dana have been pushing for the judges to be mma certified and I believe they are only boxing judges so they basically don’t know enough about takedowns and ground work. I’d love to know what professional fighters and dana thought had won the fight. I’m sure they would all say Wiman won that fight. This bogus decision won’t hurt wiman at all, he’ll still be in the ufc b/c he always comes to fight.
Wiman got one and three. He was aggressive everywhere the fight went. Total shaft.
Wiman definitely got hosed in the decision but i’m sure the 70k helped ease his pain. ps fu ufc for only showing 1 undercard fight u mugly sacks of shit
They only showed one undercard fight because of the length of the Silva – Leites borefest. Undercard fights are only used as timefillers when theres a few early stoppages!
they only have 3 hours of PPV time, where did you want them to fit another in? Even the non televised fights went to decisions (all but 1 if I recall).
Technically that wasn’t a prelim. It was suppose to be but they had 7 prelims on the card and a bunch of them went to decisions so they never got to fit in Stout vs Wiman before 10pmso they had to wait until the Chuck fight ended early and they had time for the fight before the main event.
I agree, they could have easily shown the Quarry vs. MacDonald fight, as it only lasted 2:29. If they’d spend less time f-ing around at the beginning and less time promoting some gay-ass movie, they’d have plenty of time.
Not to mention that they didn’t even give us a free prelim on the UFC website. Cheap asses.
Stout got shafted in his last two decisions. Glad he finally got a deserved win.

I thought it was a great fight! However I did not expect a unanimous decision. I actually expected a split decision going to Wiman. Just my two cent here, but I have never seen somebody so damn worried about their hair in a fight WIMAN!
I agree with those who say the judging in the UFC is suspect. Wiman is a friend of mine, so I clearly favor him, but the fact is he pushed the pace in rounds 1 and 3 and those rounds were decided on the ground. He was hurt in round 2 (that’s why he was watching the clock). Also, enough about the hair already. Evan Tanner had crazy hair at times and so does Clay Guida. Great fight and a much deserved fight of the night
lol He was definitely hurt, but he looked at the clock every 3 seconds, did he think it changed. Crazy hair and wiping it out of your eyes every minute is different!
Kevin, I was at the fight and Wiman as you said was hurt bad, that was great liver shot. I thought Stout won the fight, but man was Wiman pissed when he didn’t win. Not sure if they showed it on tv, but he ran out of the arena and pushed some dude trying to high five him right in the chest. It was hilarious!
It was a great fight and I’m glad it ended up in Stout’s favour, his fights are always pretty good.
Wiman resembles the main character from that 80’s movie Teen Wolf with Michael J. Fox, that’s some crazy growth he’s got there!
Just chiming in to say that I personally would have given 1 & 3 to Wiman.
I don’t think it matters. Wiman(and I like him) is stuck in the middle of 155. He will not be more than a gatekeeper. That being said, he could totally whip my out of shape middle aged butt.
Wiman blatently won that fight, me and my Dad shouted ‘WTF’ when Stout was announced the winner. Terrible decision imo.
I thought it should have at least been a split decision. Could have gone either way though. Once again, there should probably be some kind of rule with regards to how much a takedown really counts for.
UFC needs to provide Spider with some formidable opponents. They short change all their fighters, the abuse those guys endure for the price isn’t even worth it most of the time. If Lidell the most aggressive striker in MMA is defending Silva at the point of his exit from the sport, people need to listen. Leites laid down over and over, this worst time was when Anderson had him in the clinch and he slipped out and laid down. If Anderson did not get what he wanted out of the fight after all the training, then the fans don’t either. I love it….sending a beautiful message to the UFC,”get someone in here who is worthy”. The UFC wants to move him up but don’t like the idea that Silva has to vacate the Middleweight title, it would make the division useless; uncredible. UFC should strongly consider offering up 1 fight contracts. I think a lot of people have either forgotten or don’t know but Martial Arts isn’t about killing your opponents. It’s about: Outthinking (check), Outpointing (check), Outlasting (check), Outaggressing (check), Overpowering (check). Spider didn’t want to be assailant of Brasil on Brasil crime. The whole GSP/Silva would never work. Anderson is way to long for him and his lack of striking prowess coupled with his affinity to want to “RUSH” is a recipe for his @$$ getting laid out. AS forever.
Wiman got robbed, Stout being Canadian and them fighting in Canada, of course the judges would give it to him to please the crowd. I dont get why they have judges that dont know s**t about mma. Wiman clearly won round 1 being the aggressor, lost 2, and easily won round 3 with takedowns, position and control. Its the same case as the Hamill/Bisping fight, the winner was clear but they give it to the hometown fight, period.
Could of gone either way. I wasnt suprised when they said Stout won. Wiman seemed to have the momentum in the end however and it prompted everyone i was with to discuss a “1 more round” rule. Of course it would never happen but would be nice for fights like this to battle out 1 more round. Im sure Rich Franklin would of loved 1 more round against Hendo.
i got totally shafted on this fight. i had a 6 person parlay bet with the wiman and silva fight still to go. I had tj, elliot, shogun, cane, wiman and silva. i bet $10 and would have won over $400 !!! i went fucking crazy, and still have the shakes because of it.
on a side note, you guys should look into parlay bets, not very likely you will win, but if you do you can bet like 5 bucks and win a shit load of money. betus.com
