Kingdom MMA, the creation of former SuperBrawl and Icon Sport president T. Jay Thompson, has announced that Jason Miller (21-6) will come out of his self-imposed retirement to face fellow Icon middleweight Kala Hose (7-2) at the Blaisdell Center Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii according to the Honolulu Advertiser.
“Mayhem” became the Icon Sport middleweight world champion back in 2006 by defeating former EliteXC champ Robbie Lawler. In addition to going the distance against George St. Pierre on the UFC 52 card, Miller competed in the 2008 DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix in Japan where he lost his most recent fight to “Jacare” Souza in the quarterfinals.
He also holds notable wins over Denis Kang and Falaniko Vitale.
Miller has almost a cult-like following of fans that he often refers to as the “Mayhem Monkeys” who support his bizarre and often hilarious persona. Despite his tenure in the sport, he may have to leave the “Monkey Business” outside the cage when he faces the hard-hitting Hose – who’s had all seven of his wins come via (T)KO.
“Kolohe” won the Icon 185-pound strap last March after a thrilling fifth round knockout of Phil “The New York Badass” Baroni. The title was vacant after Robbie Lawler was unable to defend it on two separate occasions because of injuries.
The possibilities seemed endless for Hose after being crowned the champion of the Hawaii-based mixed martial arts promotion, but he lost some of his momentum when he was defeated by Robert “Bubba” McDaniel on June 14 just 41 seconds into the first round of their non-title tilt.
Hose rebounded with a TKO over Rolondo Dominique at ‘Hard Times’ in August and now hopes to upend Miller for the biggest win of his career.
Kingdom MMA will hold its inaugural event on either March 28 or 29, depending on arena availability.

i was wondering when he was going to fight again, i knew he wouldn’t stay retired to long.hose is tough but jason should win no problem.
very intresting match-up. last time i saw hose, he was stomping on phil, like really stomping on him.
blah blah, Phil dominated the first 2 rds then ran out of gas; the guy took the fight on short notice and barely even trained for it; Kolohe is about to get stomped, this is just a tune up fight for Miller; even though he hasn’t really been gone long enough for ring rust to be a factor imo.
There are many adjectives to describe Hose v.Baroni, thrilling isn’t even close. It may have made a Dan Severn fight in comparison.
LOL, he retired like 3 months ago. This s funny to me!!!
Hey Kevin: That picture you asked about is DeNiro in “Taxi Driver”
thought so mexi, I couldn’t see it well.
Hell yeah! Love Mayhem. Guys crazy.
Mayhem’s the man! Hose is a tough Kat, but there is no reason to think that he can defend the endless submission attempts that Mayhem is going to throw at him!
Exactly! Would say more, but I gotta run
MAYHEM MONKEY FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!
Ya Damn right my man!
Ill take Miller. Hose was a paper champ at best.
Hose reminds me of Bisping a bit. I don’t think he has fought the kind of talent it takes to decide just how good he is, and he always gets to fight at home.
Mayhem may be crazy…but he is also over-hyped.
I picture him as just the dog in a fight type rather than champion material but I myself tend to enjoy watching those fighters over the champs anyways.
Jason Miller overhyped????? What???
Maybe you have him confused with someone else.
Can you please show me a MW or WW Top 10 list from ANY point in time that had Mayhem in it???
He should have been hyped after his one UFC match where GSP GnP’d him for 15 minutes while Miller went for a bunch of submissions and was smiling with a mouth full of blood the entire fight! That fight took place on the same card as Liddell/Couture II I believe right after TUF season 1, and was the first fight of the PPV. Awesome fight and I instantly fell in love with Mayhem.
By far the first time I heard someone say Miller was overhyped… Actually, I very rarely hear him hyped at all.
If anything he is underrated… Because of his personality i think some people tend to overlook him..
yeah I think you are right mike. His goofy antics make people forgot just how good he is. HIs Jits is TOP SHELF!!!! VM, knows what I am talking about, and He is a very tough kid, similar to Nick Diaz!
I also, instantly became a fan when Mayhem fought Gsp! Thats the 1st time I had ever seen him, and I have been a Mayhem MOnkeyt ever since!
Yes!! So excited to see the ‘retirement’ was short-lived. Mayhem is always entertaining. VM, you hit the nail on the head. If anything, Miller is underhyped, most likely due to having only one fight in the UFC (+1 in WEC a couple yrs later). Esp’ when that fight was against the current posterboy, I wonder how that fight isn’t on the Unleashed weekly repeats.
Has Mayhem ever stated he does not wish to fight in the UFC? I am guessing it is his choice and wanting the freedom with his contracts to go whereever to fight. His one fight vs. GSP warranted a return no doubt. Anyone?
I dont’ remember the EXACT quote (someone help me out if you know it), but he basically said being in the UFC is like being married, you always got to sleep with the same girl. He likes to keep things open so he can hit up whatever pussy he pleases whenever he pleases
UFC is like being married…You dont get to go around and Bang other chicks! hahahah I loved that! I will never forget that quote!
That is pretty good. I think he could fight in the UFC if he wanted to. We have seen him chilling with Dana in some of the blogs, and he always has a seat at the fights.
I don’t think that anyone thinks he is overhyped in the true meaning of the word. Someone could say he has a gigantic and extremely loyal group of fans for a fighter who isn’t on the level of a GSP or A. Silva
Can you say Brett Favre syndrome!!!!!! I love watching Miller fight, enertainment all the way and tough as nails.
