Druby here ready for the most stacked card of the year, sit back and enjoy Maniacs tonight should have some fireworks.

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans (205-pound limit)

Round one: Evans looks like he wants to dance around and keep away from Griffin’s range. Forrest goes for a body kick but Evans dodges easily. Griffin with a leg kick and Evans just misses a MONSTER overhand right. Body kick from Griffin. Big axe kick from Evans lands flush. Nice right from Evans. Jab from Evans and Griffin lands a leg kick. Leg kick from Forrest. Evans lands a short right hook. Good body shot from Evans and Forrest with a leg kick checked by Rashad. Great kick from Evans. Griffin with a leg kick. Evans switches to southpaw. Back to traditional. Evams with a short right. Double jab left hook from Rashad lands flush. Good right hand from Griffin. Nice uppercut from Evans and Griffin lands a good body kick to the ribs. Thats the bell, extremely tough round to score it could go either way but id say 10-9 Evans but it could easily go to Griffin too.

Round two: Jab from Evans. Inside leg kick from Griffin. Left hook from Evans. Nice jab from Evans lands stiff and another stiff jab. Leg kick from Griffin. Big right from Forrest then a big leg kick and he lands another. Then Rashad with a big right, and Forrest lands two good knees. Great action. Evans with a good left right combo. Leg kick from Griffin. Double jab from Evans. Head kick blocked by Evans. Leg kick from Forrest. Jab from Evans. Double left hook from Evans. Griffin with two good leg kicks. Body kick from Griffin. Big right by Evans snaps Griffins head back and good leg kick from Evans. Good double left hook from Evans. Nice right from Griffin and a good one two combo. Leg kick from Griffin. Evans with a good combo lands a left hook and right. Griffin with a great one two combo to close the round. That one definitely goes to Griffin 10-9 his leg kicks and long reach seem to be throwing off Evans timing.

Round three: Jab from Griffin. Body kick from Griffin. Evans catches a kick and lands a BIG right and Forrest goes down!!! Evans is landing some BOMBS now and some vicious hammer fists!!!! Forrest is hurt but he grabs on for dear life and now pulls guard. Evans in Griffins full guard. Evans looking to pass to side control. BIG elbow from Evans. Still in full guard Evans keeping busy so they dont stand them. BIG right from Evans and another and Forrest is out!!!! Forrest is tapping while Evans is landing some HUGE blows. Evans lands 6 more unanswered punches and thats it!!! Rashad Evans with some incredible ground and pound and we have a new light heavyweight champ!! Those were some HUGE BOMBS from Rashad Evans and he once again seems to be getting better and better with each fight. Awesome action the whole fight and a great fight.

Final result: Rashad Evans defeats Forrest Griffin via technical knockout (strikes) in round three to become UFC Light Heavyweight Champion

-end-

UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira vs. Frank Mir (265-pound limit)

Round one: Head kick from Mir but no damage there. Leg kick from Mir lands flush. Big uppercut from Mir and Nog’s head snaps back. Mir again with another uppercut and then gets the clinch and trips him for the take down. Mir now standing and letting Nog get back to his feet. Nog with a stiff jab. Mir with another beautiful uppercut. Inside leg kick from Mir. Nog with a good jab. Leg kick from Mir. Nog looks a little out of sorts, but Mir is slowing down a bit now. Hook from Mir and a knee, and Mir lands an overhand right and Nog is down. Nog stops Mir from doing more damage and Mir lets him get back up to his feet. Mir with another uppercut which lands flush. Mir with a solid knee from the clinch. Leg kick from Nog. Nog with a big combo of left and right hooks and he finally gets some offense. Mir with a left at the bell and Nog falls down!! The bell saves him there but Mir looks amazing could be a 10-8 round.

Round two: Nog looks out of sorts he’s on his heels and Mir looks locked in. Left from Mir. Inside leg kick from Nog. Head kick from Mir blocked. Inside leg kick from Nog. Jab by Nog. Mir with a left and then a big left!!!! Nog is down and Mir jumps him and now hes throwing more bombs, and thats it. Frank Mir with an impressive impressive win. WOW he looked amazing tonight he was just hitting Big Nog at will tonight. He dominated from start to finish and Nog barely didnt anything. Complete domination by Frank Mir.

Final result: Mir defeats Nogueira via technical knockout (strikes) in round two

-end-

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva (205-pound limit)

Round one: Rampage with a wild overhand right and moves back expecting a counter. Straight right from Rampage. Good jab hook combo from Rampage. Wanderlei with a good right hook. Rampage is moving forward looking to throw off Silva. Kick missed from Silva. Jab from Rampage. Doubkle jab from Rampage, and now he shoots but bails out before he commits. Good leg kick from Wanderlei and he throws a big right but it just glances. Great leg kick from Silva. Wanderlei kicks and lands them Rampage catches it trips him and lands a decent right on his way down. Back to the feet. Wanderlei throws a wild right and Rampage ducks and lands a HUGE left and Wanderlei is dropped!!!! Rampage lands 3 more bombs for good measure but it doesnt matter Wanderlei was out cold after the 1st punch!!! WOW!!! Rampage looked amazing. WOW, SICK KO.

Final result: Quinton “Rampage” Jackson defeats Wanderlei Silva via KO (Strikes) Round 1

-end-

Cheick Kongo vs. Mustafa Al-Turk (265-pound limit)

Round one: Turk with a leg kick and Kongo catches it and lands a BIG right and nows he’s axe kicking Turks thighs with authority. Turk gets the body clinch and is going for the take down and now their up against the fence. Kongo is landing some solid knees to the body and head while stuffing the take down. Turk still working for the single leg and trying for a trip. Now he’s switching to the double leg. Kongo with great defense and now hes landing some big elbows to Al-Turks head. Kongo with great take down defense. Turk with a knee to the groin and the ref stops the fight. Kongo is milking the full 5 minute break time im guessing to gain his wind. Its surprising though considering Al-Turk looked to be the tired man at the time of the stoppage. Turk going for another single leg and Kongo is stuffing it again. Now Kongo lands a knee to the groin and the ref has to stop it for Turk. Kongo lands a big right and now he charges in and drops him with a another big right and he pounces on Turk. Kongo is on top and hes landing some vicious elbows and punches hes destroying him!!!!! He lands another HUGE elbow and Turk is cut wide open and now Kongo is landing some relentless hammer fists!!!! Its over Kongo looked impressive. That was some of the best ground and pound ive seen.

Final result: Cheick Kongo defeats Mustafa Al-Turk via TKO (Strikes) Round 1

-end-

C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio (185-pound limit)

Round one: Dollaway with a body kick, and Massenzio charges and CB lands a knee and then a left hook. Dollaway goes for a big head kick and misses. Big left hook from Massenzio lands flush and Dollaway staggers and hes hurt!!! Massenzio charges and then he goes for a guillotine. Its in deep but Dollaway slips out and nows he on top in Massenzio’s full guard. Triangle attempt from Massenzio and CB slips out. Dollaway passes to side control and then goes right into full mount. Massenzio rolls to his stomach and gives up his back and Dollaway starts punching him in the back of his head and Massenzio does nothing but cover up and thats it. Dollaway wins.

Final result: CB Dollaway defeats Mike Massenzio via TKO (Strikes) Round 1

i don’t want to see cb fight! the boogieman and okami should get the go-ahead on the main card.

CB fight SHOULD NOT be on the main card! Totally agree with you mikeybear and Zach, they should definitely be putting the Okami fight on ESPECIALLY if they plan on giving him the next shot at Silva – which I think he deserves. But I also do agree with DB, Okami is a slow starter so some people find him boring (I don’t though).

CB should not be fighting but the UFC is going to push him down our throats with marketing so we might as well get used to it now. Overall this is a crappy card, just like last year. 3 solid fights filled with star power and a terrible under card.

If there is time available on the TV broadcast, I hope to get to see the Ryo Chonan fight. He is going to outclass Blackburn!

Why is CB on the main card. I wouldn’t even put him a TUF finale main card much less an actual event. That said Wand, Nog, Evans, Okami.

I guarantee the Okami/Lister fight is gonna suck just about all Lister’s fights suck that’s why it’s a prelim,I think the Chonan vs. Blackburn fight could be a good prelim fight I hope it gets aired. The C.B. fight could be good against Massenzio and could also be a snoozefest but I’ll take my chances over watching Dean Lister any day.

This is exactally what happened at UFC 77. Remember when Okami vs McDonald wasn’t shown? It’s the exact same thing. The UFC doesn’t put Okami on beceause a lot of people find him boring.

Comment by PW
2008-12-27 15:20:00

Combine that with Lister’s boredom personified and you have a fight nobody wants to see. As far as Dollaway-Massenzio goes, these wrestler vs. wrestler matches usually stay on the feet because the wrestling cancels out. Whoever has the better stand-up wins this one.

Lister vs Okami will be the MMA equivalent to a Chris Byrd vs John Ruiz boxing match up … It will be one of the most frustrating fights to try and watch, and those types of fights could ruin an otherwise solid card if shown.

I really don’t understand why it was Okami vs someone like Demian Maia, and Lister … err well, maybe just leave him off the card altogether, hmm?

Forrest, this fight will go five full rounds and Evans will have nothing in the tank after the 3rd
Wandy, after Rampage has been distroyed twice by Wandy in the past there is no way he can pull off a win aganist him now.
Nog, I just think he is 2 tough for Mir, but I am not sure how it will end or if it will go to a dicission.

Most people think Nog will win this fight, but in what fashion?

Neither Mir nor Nog have been subbed before, and Nog has never been knocked out. They are amazing on the ground so it will be interesting. Will we see Nog get knocked out for the first time, one of them subbed for the first time, or will Frank get his fourth KO loss.

Or a Decision?

Agree completely Mir/Nog will not last past the third round, if that. I do expect Mir to wilt from the pace and be submitted or stopped due to strikes.

The upshot of Dollaway on the main card is I’ll have a chance to get up, stretch my legs, go eat a snack, use the commode, around half way through the telecast.

Comment by john

Namenotrequired: Eventually they will learn buddy!

Frank Mir was knocked out by pan de Pano Cruz who happens to be the worst striker in the world. For anyone to suggest that a disciplined boxer like Nog couldnt pick him apart is just crazy talk. Nog is going to win this fight with his striking.

If the fight goes to the greound it will be similar to Werdum vs. Nog. Nog probably wont submit Mir but he will outclass him on the ground winning the positioning battles!

Anywhere this fight goes, MIR LOSES!!!!!

Legend vs. a marketing creation! wonder who wins. Mir reminds me of the white guy from the damon wayans movie “Great white Hype”!! hahaha Mir is a fabrication of the UFC marketing team, and many of you seem to be taking the bait!

Like we say in Rome: A bocca, A bocca!

It’s you that is taking the bait john,Nogs striking sucks big time. It’s sloppy and slow. I’m surprised you weren’t paying attention at how Mir was slowly comming back from his serious injury and how great he looked in his training videos. You had it 180 degrees backwards. It is Nog who is out classed by Mir. Mir freakin owned Nog like Fedor could only dream of doing.

CR, Forrest has Couture though and Couture has a better track record on coming up with game plans (IMO), minus his last fight – for example Forrest vs Shogun, and Rampage, Couture vs Big Tim and Gonzaga and to a lesser extent Maynard vs Frankie Edgar and Clementi.

And I know that Jardine has beat Forrest but he is alot more disciplined now. He was picking Jardine apart, got a little careless and Jardine caught him. Forrest by UD.

I was under the impression that the main event was Rashad/Forrest, not Nog/Mir. Either way Rashad is going to beat Forrest in the same fashion Jardine did…he’s going to pepper him with a couple of shots to stun him…get a quick take down and then punish him for a 3rd round TKO. I like Forrest and all but the only edges he has in this fight is cardio and subs. Rashad has never attempted or defended a sub in any of his fights from what I know so it’s hard to compare them in that department. Regardless…Rashad looked in incredible shape for the Liddell fight and I expect him to come in wicked shape in order to possibly go 5 rounds. I think Forrest would be smart to utilize the leg kicks early and often to try and slow Rashad down.

CB Dollaway on the main card is the biggest LOL ever! he’s done nothing at all to be on one of the biggest events of the year’s main card. he shouldn’t even be on any PPV main card, atleast not if he’s the name that’s supposed to win.. they better make a good fight out of it and not another Sanchez vs Palalei cause then i might have to shoot the person (Dana White) that decided that this fight was gonna be on the main card..

why in the hell is CB on the main card while the like of Okami and Lister aren’t going to be even shown?? don’t get me wrong im glad he put away jesse taylor, but after that they should have booted him. “ok you’ve served your purpose, bye.”

Comment by Jon
2008-11-28 07:41:10

And I love it that CB is above Kongo and Rampage/Wandy, that is just ridiculous. If Okami wins his match, this solidifies his place as #1 contender for the MW belt. Anyways, CB is probably just going to get subbed in the end…

Evans is a great fighter but Forrest has been known to pull out big wins when necessary much like he did when he submitted Shogun Rua so I think it’ll be closer than most people think.

As for Wanderlai and Rampage I don’t think mentally Jackson has it in him. When you’ve been beaten twice by someone it’s very hard to have the belief to beat them.

The Mir Nogueira fight is gonna be a good one.Not making any predictions because I think both guys have the ability to win. It’s gonna boil down to who wants it more.Either way Lesnar is gonna have a tough time retaining his belt when the unification fight happens.

Jackson is a better fighter now and more training focused. (like BJ) Silva been training since birth.

Psyqo78, that cant be the real john!!! The real john would have said Mir doesnt stand a chance against Nog! And he couldnt pick between Page/Wand. And the real john “hates” on Forrest for beating Rampage! And if it is the real john, he must be high!

The UFC has confirmed that they have added three stellar bouts to their UFC 92 card on December 27th. As has been reported for months, the two coaches on this season’s “The Ultimate Fighter” will be squaring off, with former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir challenging interim champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Another bout added by the organization is a pivotal light heavyweight match-up between former champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson taking on his former PrideFC foe Wanderlei Silva. The winner of that bout could place themselves in a great position to challenge for a title. Which leads us to the third addition to the card, current 205-pound champion Forrest Griffin will be making his first ever title defense against Rashad Evans.

Nish…Your the only other person here that thinks Mir will win. Nog is a highly respected legend, a gentleman, and one of the all time greats. Mir is cocky and brash, but has phenominal skills and and heart [ego].Before his accident he was invincible, if he can tap into that energy and mindset he once had, no one could stop him. That’s a big “if” though….But I’m hoping he’ll pull it off. The downside of Frank winning is he’ll probably end up facing Lesnar again.

Comment by Nish

I think Kongo vs hardonk would be an exiting fight.

However i do not think that hardonk would decimate him, hardonk has great kicks but kongo is a better overall kickboxer and i think would pick him apart and score a tko.

Cleveland Rocks!!

Wandi by complete and utter domination. Then we’ll spend another few months listening to more excuses

Forrest by absolute clinic. He will will pick Evans apart with crisp striking and then Evans will revert to his wrestling background. At that point Forrest will submit him and successfully defend his title.

Nog will win because he is simply better at every aspect of MMA. Mir’s strongpoint is his jits, and Nog’s is on another level.

And my leadpipe lock is that Kongo is going to go nighty night tonight.

It’s a terrible situation, but even if he caused it, he was out of his mind. Not drunk, not on drugs, just totally insane. He doesn’t appear to have remotely understood what he was doing, and that, buddy, isn’t a felon, it’s just a sad situation. Die in a fire.

No one can say why she miscarried. But if it was my wife and a week after some maniac hit us she miscarried I wouldn’t sue I smash his skull with a bat. Until you wife or girlfriend has a miscarriage don’t judge. Its a traumatic experience. My wife had 2 before we had our first and the last thing you’re thinking about is money.

That was said in response to all the ” he looked good comments”. He looked a little gun shy to me. Watch A. Silva he has his eyes locked on target when he throws. That was a carbon copy of the Serra punch. Hugger……

No…That was boxing 101….watch Wanderlei…he had his head up when he was throwing hooks…Which is very typical of him…..Thats a huge no no……Rampage was compact and countered appropriately…..That wasnt just a throw in the dark with a lucky connection….I do hope Wanderlei keep fighting…..Albeit at 185…

I wouldn’t say that, maybe Randy’s punches didn’t phase that block head, but Mir is 250 lbs with some heat behind his (he looked much faster than he used to). Mir’s punches were hard enough to phase(out)the mighty chin of Nog, so who knows.

No Jake your stupid. Anyone can lower their head. close their eyes, throw a left hook and land on the sweet spot and knock the other guy out. Rampage is a loser baby killer who is a celebrity and just walks away. The guy deserves to be in jail for years. Rampage sucks ass. He would never ever beat Forest or Rashad. Rampage can’t even check leg kicks so Forest would fuck him up again and Rashad is way too fast and would knock Rampage the fuck out.

And the UFC HW’s are chumps. The real HW’s are in Affliction with Fedor and Barnett. Nog is all washed up from the beatings he took from Fedor. Hopefully one day Fedor will join UFC and show the entire world just how shitty the UFC HW’s are.

My drunk rambling is over

I can say this Machida vs. Evans will be the greatest track meet of all times.

With the talent poll at 205 no one and I mean no one will hold the belt for an extended period.

I called that with page and I’m calling it with Evans.

DAMN!! i thought forrest had that won, another round or so an rashad could have been a bit low on gas, he did show class in defeat and i respect that but i’m still pretty bitter that he lost, can’t say i’m a rashad fan at all but i think a fight between him and rampage needs to happen now. I said from the start that if mir came in shape he would beat nog, i just didn’t expect him to finish it, i am fairly supprised that he admited after the fight that he went in scared and thinking he was going to loose, his boxing looked better than ever. the wandi-rampage fight didn’t go as long as i expected, i couldn’t pick a winner in that but i expect rampage getting his belt back soon. as for the mir-lesnar rematch i would have said lesnar but now i’m having second thoughts, mir isn’t exactly a small heavyweight and lesnars chin is still untested and mir’s boxing could be the thing to do it, to be honest i might probably lean towards mir in the rematch especially if he keeps this focus and training up, i think the rematch could happen soon aswell, mir didn’t take ANY punishment and lesnar could be ready to fight in a couple of months, the way i see it is the sooner the better for mir, it gives brock less time to work on sub deffense

To all you holier-than-thou jerkoffs, Rampage knocked Wandy into unconsciousness! Jackson owned Silva simple and plain! GET OVER IT! Although, these two fighters don’t like each other, I am a fan of both fighters…I’m hoping that Wandy does not retire and I am also hoping that Quinton works through all of his personal issues. They are both exciting fighters and I just love watching both of these guys fight.
