“… I am so sorry I am not able to fight this weekend. I trained harder for this than any other fight in my life and I was looking forward to this more than you know. It started on friday with a small mark on my leg. I immediately went to the doctor and he gave me medication and told me if it got worse to go to the hospital. Well, it got worse and on Sunday I went in and have been here ever since. I am hoping they will discharge me by Thursday. I am very sorry if I disappointed anyone. A lot of work by a lot of people went into this. For it to end with something totally out of my control makes it difficult to swallow. I will be back in the gym as soon as possible and will be ready to fight as soon as Joe Silva can get me back in.”
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 season winner Amir Sadollah provides additional details about the injury that forced him out of his middleweight bout against Nick Catone at UFC 91: “Lesnar vs. Couture” on November 15. He was scratched from the card with just four days until fight night, leaving the promotion with no time to find a replacement. The bout has been scrapped and the welterweight match up between Dustin Hazellet and Tamdan McCrory was promoted to the televised portion of the pay-per-view (PPV) card. There is no timetable for Sadollah’s return, but the good news is that it appears it will be sooner rather than later.

he’s a good guy!! he’s half persian!! finally their’s a 120 million of us about time one of us decided to do MMA!!!
Real likable guy. Hope he comes back soon. I was looking forward to seeing him fight and how much progress he had made since the TUF finale.
I hope Amir heals up soon and this should be a perfect opportunity for the UFC if amir heals up soon to be Amir on the T.U.F 8 finale since there isnt that much fights on that card yet
HOPE he trained harder for any fight in his life since he only has ONE pro fight…
Dude what you talking about? Do you have any idea what these guys go through? I train jui jitsu at a pace not even half of what the pros go at and I have had so many problems along with others. My back is messed up, need an MRI, staph infection. This stuff is hard man…
derreck – Amir has had many fights, but only one is considered pro. He’s trained harder for this one than any other.
derreck why dont you try training? (its harder then it seems and stuff happens), you might gain som humility. He has had more fights then you have watched ill bet. Amir is a born fighter and thats something you dont see too often. Get better, train hard and prove to everyone what you can do Amir! Gotta love a charismatic fighter like Amir.
I don’t think he was busting his balls, medecine……balls, just making a funny point. He beat me to it, and I like Amir. HEY MANIA, what happens to a fighter when they pay all that cash (35k for most, 60k if you’re Rampage training with Juanito)for a training camp and then they have to withdraw? I guess that’s money down the drain and they have to pony up another 35k when they train for their next fight? That probably sucks, but if that’s what happens it should let us fans know that when these guys get hurt and have to withdraw right before a match, they’re HURT. It sounds like lost cash on training camp and missing a paycheck. That sucks!
I think thats exactly what happens Chef. 35K might be the higher end gyms though? 60K for Rampage was cause he and Juanito were children of God! But thats why most of the fighters still fight even though their not 100%!
i wouldn’t want to minimize the cost for a training camp but i am sure the sponsors kick in a little something towards the cost.
Stuff happens, it isn’t his fault even though someone who posts will say it is. Amir is a really good guy and a I was rooting for him the whole show.
This is a true guy. I had staph inifection before on my arm and it started from 2 small marks like he was talking about and overnight turned into pure hell. I went straight to ER and thank god the medication helped. He is smart not to let this get out of hand like many fighters tend to do.
