WEC 37 tickets for “Torres vs. Tapia” are now on sale for the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 3.

Tickets, which range in price from just $75 to a modest $225, can be purchased through StubHub.com (Note: StubHub often has seats available even if the event is “sold out”)

The main event of the evening features perhaps the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport, Miguel Torres, defending his 135-pound bantamweight title against the undefeated Manny Tapia.

Torres — a Carlson Gracie protégé with sick Muay Thai skills — is in the midst of breaking out into the mainstream despite years of dominating his competition in smaller shows throughout the nation. He submitted Chase Beebe earlier this year to capture the WEC bantamweight title.

Tapia is a former King of the Cage star who has kept his perfect record intact since joining the WEC with two exciting wins over
Brandon Foxworth and Antonio Banuelos. “The Mangler” often tends to live up to his nickname, preferring to stand and bang it out rather than take his fights to the ground.

He has not seen any action since February because of a knee injury that has kept him on the sidelines.

WEC 37 will air on the VERSUS network, beginning at 9 p.m. ET on fight night. To check out the latest fight card for the event click here.

That means PPV on Jan 17th, 24th and 31st… Sucks for Affliction. No way I will miss Hendo/Franklin or Penn/GSP. If I have to pass on 1 Fedor/AA in a ring will be it. Affliction will be another casuality of the economy.

they already have 2 events, 1 before and one after that weekend scheduled. the only thing i think they could do is show a re-run of a ppv, like ufc 91. i hope the ufc still thinks about having ufc93 in ireland for free.

Thanks b.w.! That’s great info. I’m w/ you on Torres taking Tapia out and it not going to the judges.

i would like to see carlos condit on that card as well. hopefully the ufc moves a good ww to the wec. either that or they will have to rematch him with brock larson. its slim pickings for him in their ww division.

enough hype that torres is the best pound 4 pound fighter in the world. He didn’t even look dominant in his last fight and there aren’t many good fighters in his weight class.

i havent heard anyone say hes the best p4p. just that hes well up there. and yeah he did look dominant in his last fight, just as soon as he calmed down and took his emotion out of it. very good fighter, youd have to be blind to miss that. tapias one tough SOB but if torres doesnt fight angry, he can take this fairly easily IMO. wheres your mexican pride Paco?!
