Spike TV has confirmed the upcoming event UFC Fight Night 16: “Fight for the Troops”, a live three-hour televised event on Wednesday, December 10 starting at 9:00 PM, ET.
And it’s scheduled for the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina … not Fort Bragg, as originally reported.
The special event is designed to raise funds for the construction of The National Intrepid Center of Excellence, a treatment center for Armed Forces personnel who have experienced traumatic brain injuries.
From UFC President Dana White:
With this event on December 10th, we hope to raise millions for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and to help increase national awareness for the meaningful ways the National Intrepid Center of Excellence will impact the lives of our service personnel here in the United States.
This not the Zuffa’s first event dedicated to the Armed Forces. The UFC held Fight Night 7, headlined by Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Riggs, back in December 2006 at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California.
Now they head for North Carolina but Fayetteville citizens should take note: Fight Night 16 is a free event just for the troops. Tickets are not available for purchase though donations are accepted and encouraged.

too bad brian stann is off the card.
This is a nice fundraiser…
not going to happen but it would be cool if they had a block buster main-event like Wandy vs Rampage… those guys would go crazy and everybody else seeing it on tv… just dreaming a little no harm done will pay for it on Dec 27
3 hour broadcast. HOur and a half of commercials. I prefer paying for commercial free UFC, but whatever!
Did he learn he was fighting Cantwell again? haha..
Brutal that they pulled Cantwell off the card just cause Brian “Overrated Soldier” Stann couldnt hack training.
i think its good that they pulled the fight off the card.
that matchup should happen. The LHW division is too crowded and i guess the winner gets to stay and become properly promoted, and the loser fights on prelim events to pad some prospect’s resume by “beating a former WEC champion” haha.
Why? You wanted to see him get beat up again, this time in front of all his boys? It’s a blessing that he’s not going to be on that card.
Is the Zenko-Kos fight confirmed yet? Hope Zenko does it big on this show.
if so I hope Zenko throws Kos through the octagon cage into the audience! Judo FTW!!
Koscheck Will not lose against him.
CHase, get it through your heard….koschek BLOWS!!!!!!!
Help me. Who does Dan Henderson punch in the forehead (it’s a dude wearing media head gear)when he’s leaving the octagon after a fight? I saw it as part of a montage on U Tube and i can’t figure out when or where it’s from?
Damnit. I live in Fayetteville and am not military. UFC will never come to my shitty town again for a show and when they do come, I can’t go!
maybe you should join the military then??!!
Srew that. I guess I will watch the damn thing at home.
i live in fayetville too. this pisses me off, i want to go so bad
yea, maybe i will join the military and sign a life time contract for a night of watching a half decent ufc card
3 hour card would be 6 fights
kos vs zenko
swick vs goulet
wiman vs edgar
i just don’t see the three others that would make it
where’s the link where you donate?
