Oh fighting for the love of the sport my ass you prick. You are a piece of crap kimbo, cant wait till you get your leg broken and you disappear back to your ghetto youtube videos.
you sound like one of those fat guys that cries over a mistake in a Simpsons episode.
lmao! good stuff Bill!
Haha, it’s funny because it’s true!
spawn- Wow Kimbo was respectful about everyone except for Brett Rogers in that video and you still talk crap about him. He loves to fight and that is why he loves the sport.
how can you say he doesnt like to fight? the guy was fighting in the streets for next to nothing. obviously he does it for the love of fighting. i think your pretty funny thinkin kens gonna win this one. we’ll see. piece of crap or not the guys there to fight and he’s doin alright for himself. i’d bet your gonna hear his name more than you want to in the future. my prediction, he’ll fight top contenders sooner or later.
I know right! He totally contradicted himself, saying if a fighter fights for someone else he will lose. He fights for his family, so he fights for the money, so he doesn’t need to fight for $200,000 a fight. Keith Jardine is a perfect example of a fighter who loves to fight, and doesn’t care about how much he gets paid. That is why he has ALOT of fans. Besides the UFC gives him money under the table anyway.
Kimbo is a huge draw. A lot of us MMA fans want to see him get destroyed and that is what EliteXC uses to get more of the demographic to watch. This card is somewhat stacked with good fights, I want to see Daley fight so I hope he wins. I also want to see Shammy keep the tradition going and ankle lock Kimbo into submission.
Jardine has “ALOT” of fans????
That is honestly the FIRST time I heard that one!!!!!
He has ZERO personality and can’t string together a few wins. That is why he doesn’t have a big fan base and why he doesn’t get paid all that much…
I wasn’t a Jardine fan up until one of his most recent interviews. Just made me realize how hard he works and everything. It’s kind of cool.
I’m a huge Jardine fan, so we are out there, and I respect Kimbo and wish him well.
Its hard to pick because i like Kimbo but it would be good to see Ken win after all the bad luck he has had and being ruled out from everybody!
Yes I agree , it would be nice to see Ken win, but his only chance is if Kimbo trips over on his way to the cage and knocks himself out!!!
Im still pretty amazed at how people have bought so much in to the hype, and actually give Ken a chance. I mean, i cant even remember when was his last real decent win, and i mean over a top competitor!!!! I think you would have to go back to the old UFC days to find anyone worthy.
I mean, can you really count an old stiff Kimo and a guy with about 20 losses compared to what 8 wins ( I’m talking about Adkins by the way)??? I mean, even Otsuka has more losses than wins!!!
And besides almost all of his famous leg locks came in Pancrase, wearing the big boots. Im sorry, i just don’t see how Shamrock can win this one.
Alright guys, I got Ken. I think he wants to end his career on a positive note, or at least be able to set up one last “super fight” that will pay him some decent scratch. Kimbo doesn’t hit that hard, so hopefully ke cn get close and end it. Ken will be in better shape, and his experience is obvious. I really don’t see too many ways kimbo can win this fight, short of elite paying ken “bonus money” to stand.
But on the other hand, what if Dana offered ken a ufc retirement fight if he wins. it was widely reported that he told Phil Baroni he’d let him back in the UFC if he beat frank. one can only hope, because that offer would supercede any offer elite could make. Picture this
Mark Coleman vs. Ken Shamrock…final UFC fights (final conflict)!!
Going to alcatraz today with my mom and gram, will try to sneak on saturday.
UFC fight between Coleman vs. Shamrock? r u kidding me kev! U should be locked up in Alcatraz and have them throw away the key for such a terrible idea! Whats so bad about that idea, is that I can actually see the UFC going for it! GOD HELP US and save us from a UFC pay per view that wouuld include any chapter of Coleman vs. Shamrock!
YOu want a sure win the team parlay buddy?
3 fighter parlay:
Gina “Giampaolo(my last name)” Carano LOL
Cyborg
Arlovski!
Take that to the bank!
I am betting on every single fight exceptt he kimbo fight!
I cant guage his improvement from 1 fight to the next. Novice fighters improve a lot in 6 months and I can not pretend to know how much exactly! Also, who the hell knows what Senile ol’ shamrock is going to do in his crazy old age?
Betting on this figt will just piss me off! To many easy fights to bet on to waste m y time trying to predict this mess of a main event!
1st mma card in the histor of my memory that I ever recall, me being excited about every single televised fight, more then the actual main event! SAD!
Ken would not end it here. He and Frank are pulling for a match against each other aren’t they?
I hate to say it, but I hope Kimbo beats him. I am not interested in the Frank and Ken matchup nor the buildup that will surround it.
i do think kimbo dosn’t hit all that hard but how much does it take to knock out ken, not much.
Few things bout that interview,
First- the host, biggest douche I’ve seen in a while
Second- difference between Brock and Fergie, um Brock is fighting real competition, just say it Kevo!
Third- Brett Rogers would destroy Kimbo, of course Kimmie won’t fight him
Fourth- Honestly, this is getting old, ugh!
Rogers desrves no respect? Funny coming from a guy that thinks Mike Tyson (another older, washed-up fighter) would be a dreamfight for him and other top MMA fighters dont matter. An Gina Carano best P4P? Didn’t he say in the same interview that BJ was the best P4P? Is it possible to be that stupid. I don’t see how any true fan of MMA can be a fan of this guy. Can I get an “um” count?
um. Mex feel free to count my um two or three times.
the_mexecutioner-
He says Brett Rogers deserves no respect because he so blatantly disrespected Kimbo. Brett had a point and it was also a great way to make a name for himself, but he was still very disrespectful nonetheless.
Kimbos dream has been to fight Mike Tyson because while growing up, boxing was the big time combat sport and Mike Tyson was known as the baddest man on the planet. I am sure that as a youngster in a ghetto setting, Mike Tyson would have been somewhat of an idol to a young street fighter in Kevin Ferguson.
His intelligence may not be great but who cares? Is that really a legitimate reason to dislike a fighter? I don’t think so.
He stated that BJ probably would beat him. Let me rephrase. Kimbo admitted that a guy fighting at 155 could probably beat him. That shows how much of an understanding he has about where he is at. Granted, he said that he wouldn’t let them, but how many fighters want to publicly count themselves out 100%?
He also showed a great deal of respect for the sport by actually SHOWING RESPECT TO DANA WHITE. Dana has been extremely disrespectful towards Kimbo, yet Kimbo still spoke the truth about Dana and had nothing bad to say about him. Some people may say that Kimbo is just trying to keep his options open with the UFC just in case EliteXC should fold and the UFC decides to cash in on the hype. But THAT would be indicative of the intelligence that you claim Kimbo is lacking.
Kimbo doesn’t even beleive his own hype, otherwise he would ask for better competition than what Elite has handed him. Agreeing to fighting guys that are over 40, pretty respectable. What has Kimbo done to earn anybodies respect in the first place? Who has he beat to earn anyones respect? I dont think any fighter cares weather or not Kimbo respects him.
And Kimbo, with his high intellect, forgetting I guess, that he is on an MMA a show discussing MMA and his so called MMA career, says his dream fantasy fight would be with Mike Tyson. Let me rephrase, when talking MMA and John Anik asking the question what Kimbo’s prefferable dream fight would be among MMA fighters, not boxers, picks a boxer. Remember, they are on an MMA show discussing MMA. Can you say relevance? I bet Kimbo couldn’t even spell it.
He did give props to BJ saying he was the best P4P, but he then later said Carano was the best P4P. Again, he sounds pretty intelligent to me.
Lastly, I dont think Dana really cares weather or not Kimbo has anything bad to say about him. He is irrelevent to Dana as well as the majority of hard core MMA fans, and he will continue to be until he decides to take a step up in competition. He allows himself to be protected. He can say “Naw, I dont wan’t to fight some 40 something year old has been or retired boxer, give me some real competition” but he doesn’t. Thats what he should have said when asked why Lesnar and him are viewed differently, instead of saying “We are both MMA fighters.” (This Kimbo guy is truly a master of the obvious) He takes the cans they give him and is content with not really testing himself. And he has the balls to say Rogers only fights for money?
The guy is a joke. But hey, it’s a free country. Love him all you want.
Kimbo openly stated that he would probably be beaten by a guy fighting at 155. That is the proof that he doesn’t believe his own hype. I agree with you there. He probably was humbled because of the James Thompson fight.
As far as not asking for better competition, he wanted to fight Brett Rogers after that little spat they had. Kimbo stood up at the conference while Brett was trash talking Kimbo’s performance and said “that sounds like a challenge to me” Kimbo was the first person to even say anything about those two fighting. Brett was probably baiting him to do so, but regardless, Kimbo still stood up and made it public that he wanted to fight him. He even stated in a later interview that the fight had to happen and it looked like it would happen in October. Everyone around Kimbo probably told him that he needed to stay away from that fight and also told him that he needed to quit pursuing it because at this point in his career, it wasn’t going to happen.
I noticed the many contradictions in what Kimbo said. I think that he was just trying to stay respectful. When speaking about BJ, he didn’t want to trash talk so he just put BJ up there man. Then when given the chance, he mentioned Gina. He was trying to be respectful, but he just doesn’t have the intelligence to do it coherently like Randy Couture for example. I still don’t think that a fighters intelligence or lack thereof is a reason to like or dislike him.
As far as the Tyson comments, that is his dream fight (for reasons I hypothesized about in my previous post) and in his position, it IS conceivable. Think about it. Ray Mercer, a former Olympic boxer, was Kimbo’s first MMA fight ever. Not to mention, EliteXC would be all about that sort of circus. It’s not all that far fetched of an idea.
And as far as not testing himself, look. I’ve said it before and I will say it again. Kimbo only has like 3 fights under his belt. He is not an Elite fighter. He openly stated that any EliteXC heavyweight is a challenge for him. That wasn’t him being humble. That was the absolute truth. The hype that surrounds Kimbo is for money making purposes only. Every hardcore MMA fan should know this by now.
I guess I dont understand your argument for the guy other than the fact that people should like him because he was trying to be respectful. The guy fights bums. He can chose not to fight bums, but he doesn’t. He is a disgrace. When Elite goes under and he finally loses to someone legit and the big paydays stop coming in, you think he is still going to want to fight? He is in it for the money, not just to fight. Do you know how old Ray Mercer is? Please dont reply to me. Im losing brain cells by reading your non-sense.
Keep ducking Rogers and fighting 40 year old men Kimbo, you really are the pinnacle of MMA. Really.
the problem is, ken cant really take a punch anymore. sprawl and brawl, kimbo wins. so what.
Kimbo said he’s a “Sharp Tool” – he got half of that right!!
I have more respect for Kimbo now. He was humble and said good things about Dana even though Dana trashed him. He even admitted that BJ Penn would whoop him up. Good!
Agreed. If he trash talked Dana and said that he would kill BJ, he would be criticized heavily. If he refused to comment, people would still poke fun but when he is respectful and admits that “yeah maybe a 155 pounder could beat me” people just fail to mention it and give him his credit. Sad.
Legendary Boxing trainer Freddie Roach on his star pupil, Andre Arlovski:
All I train Andrei for is boxing,” Roach said. “That’s all I really know. I’m not a wrestler or grappler or anything like that. I just teach him how to use his hands. He likes boxing quite a bit, and I do feel that Andrei will be the first MMA fighter to cross over into both sports. And I think he’ll be successful in boxing also.”
Roach said he thinks that if Arlovski beats Nelson on Saturday night, he will fight Fedor Emelianenko next. That meshes with what Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told me.
“I think Andrei’s the only guy out there who can beat Fedor, because of his movement,” Roach said. “Obviously, that’s a real tough fight, but it’s certainly a fight I’d like to see.
video of arlovski training with Freddie Roach:

Marcus Davis has like 20 fights in boxing though. Arvlovski would not be the first, but he would be good at it. I think he could beat Fedor. Not saying he will, or he is so much better, just saying he has a better shot than the other tools over there.
Going for Ken to tap out Slice.
I really do hope boxing becomes big again.. and that Arlovski fights Klitschko haha that would be a dream!
Ken at 44 has lost his pot of gold and his lucky charms. Kimbo is going to leave Shamrock looking like a scary leprechaun. Well atleast he won’t need a costume for halloween
Did anybody see Kimbo punch David Blaine in the stomach, twice. Blaine didn’t even go down. He just looked at Kimbo and smiled. Kimbo said that even he wouldn’t let himself punch himself in the stomach even once.
I know. That was pretty cool. Did you see how the second punch seemed to propel Blaine into being slightly air born?
i respect kimbo and his ability to be humble about his place in all of this. i do still think that as a fighter he is a little late to the game to ever be a true contender.
good interview. always humble and respectful in them.
anyways
i like him and ken as fighters
but i really see kimbo taking it
Kimbo is a much smarter guy than I realized. The way he answered those loaded questions was very thoughtful. I hope he destroys Mr. Shamrock.
