I think this event is going to be a GREAT card!!The UK fans are getting some great match-ups…The top three fights are going to be amazing….And to top it all of?..it is free!

No complaints here, with this card…..
And I can’t wait for my boy Luis Cane to introduce himself to the world…Watch out for that man!

There is very little love for Leban on this site. I don’t get it. Everbody talks sh*t on Bisbing (he only fights cans, ect..) now he is fighting someone good and everyone thinks its all Bisbing. I disagree… Bisbing may be able to stick and move to squeak out a bi*ch a** decision, but if he engages Leban, its over!!!

BNF.i look at it this way. leben is a tough fighter with a big heart, but he was clearly losing the terry martin fight until the last minute ko. if not for that we may not even be talking bisping/leben. bisping has looked great since moving down to 185,against lesser competiton mind you, but still impressive. this fight should tell us wich one of these fighters is going to be a legit contender and wich is going to be a gatekeeper.

Leben will win this fight. If not by KO!! then he will outpoint Bisping! thats right i said it out point Bisping. Leben has the ability to submit Bisping also.

I’m torn on this match up. I’ve always believed that Bisping has a weak chin, but no one has yet to exploit it fully. I think Bisping is a more skilled fighter, but Leben has the power to put Bisping away. Should be an interesting bout.

Comment by matt
2008-10-01 15:04:25

Why do u believe he has a weak chin…hammill landes some bombs on him, rashad evans the man who just knocked out liddell landed some solid combos on him and the only time i have ever seen him rocked was when elvis landed that knee right on his chin which put him on the mat but he instanly recovered i dont think bisping has a weak chin at all but i guess we will find out how it stands up to lebens power.

Comment by belfort_fan
2008-10-01 17:19:45

You need to watch the Hammill Bisping fight again. Bisping got rocked more than once in that fight.

i dont know if bisping will be able to finish this fight but i think he takes if he can avoid that ko punch of lebe. I think Bisping has the better stand up and the better wrestling and bjj is probably similar. I think bisping is going to try to keep the distance and use his speed and technique to pick apart leben. My prediction is a unaimous decision win for michael bisping

Does Leben EVER throw straight punches? It looks like his punches loop a little bit even when he’s trying to throw them straight.

Bisping can take him down and submit him or tko him rather easly hopefully thats what he does. IF he goes out there and tries to fight him like sakara he ‘might’ lose.

This may be a little off topic, but would Marcus Davis be considered a second tier fighter or what? And please don’t respond with a stupid comment like “Duh!” I want some detailed reasons for whatever class of fighter you all think he is and where he’s headed in the future. I don’t expect many responses because most of you don’t know enough about MMA to make a valid argument.

Nothing like asking opinions and being an insulting @ss while your at it. Second tier fighter? I’d have to say: yes. Why? It isn’t b/c he’s not a tough guy. He is. He steps in the cage and goes to war. It’s not an insult to be second tier, if by that term one can imply a very good fighter who will never hold a belt. But hey, d’bag, if you knew enough MMA, you wouldn’t ask people who’s opinions you don’t respect.

I consider there to be 3 tiers of fighters in the UFC. All3 are in the top tier for MMA as a whole btw.

Tier One- Championships/Top of Divisions – The top 8 or so in a division

Tier 2- Solid fighters, always make anyone fight.

Tier 3- Hanging in there just

I rekcon, he is a tier 2 fighter.

As a whole, he is defo top tier of MMA as a big sport tho. Top 20 WW in world, I think hes top 15 or so.

im not the most knowledgeable but i would call him a B-fighter right now. Not that i dont think he has what it takes to be an A level fighter, just thats where i see him being ranked right now. That would be because of his recent loss to swick who sorta just hangs around the lower ranks of the top fighters. so yeah my take is hes (for now) a b-level fighter who is very close (and very capable of) to breaking into the upper echelon

being a called b-level or a 2nd tier fighter in the ufc is not an insult imo. he would be an a-level fighter anywhere else. scott smith was c-level fighter in the ufc imo and he gave robbie lawler his toughest fight to date in elite. (except ninja).

Davis is a B fighter, but getting better and may be able to crack into the top tier. Obviously the hands are there and his whole mma game looks better. I didnt see his last fight (lost) though. I would pick him against almost anyone other than the real top WW.

I see Bisping all the way in this fight. Lebens only chance is to get that one punch. There is no way Leben will GnP him.. but he could get GnP’d himself. Bisping is smart. I see him coming out smart and picking his punches for a bit, then taking him down, and finishing the fight.

Bisping by finish.

a GREAT card?? I think not!! As much as I like Bisping v leben its a very weak main event, plus the other fights which ok may be ok, but they are certainly not mouth watering, UK cards need to be stronger IMO!!

I dont think Bisbing can knock out Leben, but he has better technical skills. So i guess that means Bisbing by decision. If he pulls this one off I will believe he is legit.
