The fighter payouts for “Strikeforce at the Mansion II” from the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, Calif., on September 20 have been released by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).
And Trevor Prangley — along with lightweight champion Josh “The Punk” Thomson — were the big winners of the evening, pocketing a $40,000 base salaries for their respective wins.
“The Punk” took home $40,000 for just over a minute’s worth of work, while main event competitor Joe “Diesel” Riggs earned the same in a losing effort.
The other top two earners on the card were Terry Martin ($10,000) and Luke Stewart ($8,000) who both finished their respective opponents.
It’s interesting to note that both prized Japanese acquisitions who were making their respectove Strikeforce debuts — Kazuo Misaki and Mitsuhiro Ishida — were paid only $1,400 apiece from Strikeforce.
Obviously, there had to be more money paid upfront or coming from a third party at a later date, considering Misaki was part of the main event — $1,400 wouldn’t even cover the round trip airfare to the “Land of the Rising Sun.”
Nonetheless, here are all the “Strikeforce at the Mansion II” payouts:
Kazuo Misaki: $1,400
Joe Riggs: $20,000
Misaki defeated Riggs via technical knockout (strikes) in round two
Josh Thomson: $40,000 ($20,000 to show, $20,000 to win)
Ashe Bowman: $2,000
Thomson defeated Bowman via technical knockout (strikes) in round one
Terry Martin: $10,000
Cory Devela: $10,000
Martin defeated Devela via technical knockout (strikes) in round three
Mitsuhiro Ishida: $1,400
Justin Wilcox: $5,000
Ishida defeated Wilcox via submission (armbar) in round one
Trevor Prangley: $40,000
Anthony Ruiz: $6,000
Prangley defeated Ruiz via unanimous decision
Luke Stewart: $8,000
Jesse Juarez: $2,000
Stewart defeated Juarez via submission (armbar) in round one
Eric Lawson: $6,000 ($5,500 to show, $500 win)
Kenneth Seegrist: $2,000
Seegrist defeated Lawson via submission (rear naked choke) in round one
Brandon Magana: $2,000
Brandon Thatch: $2,000
Magana defeated Thatch via split decision
Jesse Gillespe: $2,000 ($1,000 to show, $1,000 win)
Dave Martin: $1,000
Gillespe defeated Martin via split decision
Keep in mind the salaries listed above do not include fight bonuses, sponsorships, percentages and other unofficial payments. It also does not include deductions for expenses such as insurance, taxes, etc.
The total base fighter payroll for the event was $160,800.

misaki gets 1,400 to beat riggs who gets 20,000? hmmmm
yeah, it seems like the Jap’s are getting jipped!!
And it is a damn shame with that sick arm-bar by Ishida…IMO- that was the only good part of the night..
That’s not enough to pay for a couple of bunnies and the “grotto” for an hour!
This is a JOKE!!! Misaki is a legit top 10 middleweight and Ishida is always floating around the top 10 of the lightweight division, and they only get paid $1,400
This is crap and it just shows a lack of appreciation for japanese fighters! Now this PISSES ME OFF!
yeah, and you know that the guy at Strikeforce are not going into the dressing rooms after the fight and handing out checks for great performence’s, like the UFC would do..
Damn shame..Ishida should have got a 25k bonus for that arm-bar..
F*ckin’ A, Joe Riggs lost, but he has way more money than Misaki. That’s unfair because he lost!!
Chuck got like 500k and rashad got 120k I think, Stop whinning.
Joe Riggs ain’t Chuck Liddell. Go figure…
And he didn’t make 500k either? He has a name and Misaki Doesn’t. Whats your point?
My point is that Joe Riggs is not the poster boy so don’t compare his earnings to Lidell’s…Hehe!!
i’d argue misaki was a bigger name than riggs.
Sorry Negation hah, I was using it as a comparison to a losing guy getting paid way more then the winner hah.
No prob Chase…At least it wasn’t Koscheck that you’re comparing Riggs too, lol!
Kos doesn’t get paid to much yet hah, but he did make more then Lytle hah. But He also beat him as well.
I really hope Kazuo Misaki and Mitsuhiro Ishida are getting more than that. >_<
We need more Japanese fighters in America.
Mitsuhiro Ishida: $1,400
Wow and I saw him at Dream6 last night(this morning) too so that might have almost covered the cost of his plane ride back.
I am sure he will not be fighting for them if he gets a fight in Dream.
It’s all about the Hamiltons in Strikeforce.
How the hell does Trevor Prangley get 40K???
Just like Joe Riggs I guess, UFC vets…
if babalu was on the card he would of got way more then prangley did ….. although he would deserve it
some of the money these guys get makes you wonder how they can afford to fight!!
they also get money from sponsership deals… but 1.000 to fight is pretty pethetic lol
now you see why Strikeforce is the only org besides UFC making profit.
man, this is crooked.
