The Ultimate Fighter 7 runner-up CB Dollaway (7-1) will make his third straight Octagon appearance when he takes on UFC veteran Jorge Rivera (15-7) at UFC 92 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on New Year’s Eve weekend according to WrestlingObserver.com.

“The Doberman” was unsuccessful in his bid to win it all at the TUF 7 finale on June 21, but he was able to rebound and score an impressive submission victory over Jesse “Yellow Submarine” Taylor less than a month later at Fight Night 14.

Facing him will be a very tough albeit inconsistent fighter in Rivera. “El Conqistador” came up short against Martin Kampmann at UFC 85 after a very impressive KO victory over Kendall Grove at UFC 80.

This should be a good test for Dollaway. Rivera has knockout power and has ended 10 of his 15 wins by (T)KO. No doubt Dollaway will try and utilize his wrestling to keep things on the ground until he can find a submission against the crafty veteran.

UFC 92 is scheduled for December 27 and features the light heavyweight championship bout between Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans as well as the heavyweight tournament elimination bout of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir.

I imagine CB is going to lose a lot of fights… Is it just me, or doesn’t his face just make you want to punch him as hard as you can?

I could care less about this fight. When and who is Amir going to fight???

I think Amir is fighting on 91. or something like that. hes going against a UFC newbie, with a 5-3 record. not 100% sure on all of that, but mostly sure.

Thats some funny sh*t! CB will be known as the (sh*t sniffer) and Faber as the (butt chin) Only problem is that it doesnt get out of my head! Every interview, thats the first thing I remember!

I remember that comment, and the shit sniffer was Carlos Condit. Just look at his pre-fight staredown and it will be quite obvious.

I think CB’s all around game might be too much for Rivera.

I see CB taking him down and either mounting him or putting in the hooks for a GnP victory.

agreed, unless jorge pulls some wrestling out of his rear end hes going to get taken down and beaten or subbed

CB Dolloway doesn’t like the way bloggers are calling CB Dolloway a Matt Damon lookalike. CB Dolloway thinks bloggers should recognise Matt Damon is a CB Dolloway lookalike.

Well considering what Jorge has been through lately Im surprised he’s even fighting at all.

Using all the negatives and turning it round may be the deciding factor if he wants to win this one.

I think that’s an old picture. His 17 yr old daughter died suddenly a little over a month. Maybe it’s cathartic for him to fight, or maybe he has medical and funeral bills. Either way it’s still incredible to me he’s fighting so soon. Got to respect the guy. I pick Rivera on this one.

Man I love DVR, I got through a great night of fights in 40 minutes. Overall, I’m pleased. Nate Diaz isn’t going anywhere, his jits is unreal, his stand up is improving.
How bout Belchers tree trunk legs…damn!
Houston “I got an excuse for every loss” Alexander should have finished that fight, and IMO proved he sucks.
I’m going to open myself up to getting flamed tomorrow, stay tuned. Since I keep it eal, I got a confession for you guys.
got to get to bed, peace out guys!

This just proves that the UFC did EVERYTHING they could to get CB into the UFC. This is his second fight, already, with no other members from that season even merntioned or fighting.

It is only rumored that Amir is fighting at UFC 91??? The kid won the damn season and beat CB TWICE. You would think thta CB is the star, looking at how the UFC is treating the 2

Comment by chefdaddy
2008-09-18 22:30:56

While it may look that way (and it could be true), I believe they are giving Amir as much time as possible to prepare and hopefully win. It wouldn’t look good to have a TUF winner lose so early.

I think CB may be the most over rated TUF alum. He beat Taylor who is a great athlete but honestly couldnt think his way out of a paper bag.

haha. Yellow Submarine. nice one.
Rivera keeps a win, loss, win, loss type of record in the UFC correct? so by keeping to that pattern, he should win this fight. im not much of a fan of either one of these guys. i think they could have matched CB up with someone else to make for a more exciting fight. it will be a tough test for him and a good win if he gets it, due to Rivera’s veteran status, but im not too excited for it.
