whats up mma crew i personaly had the chance to be around evan alot he was a coach a training partner a boss to me in his life. evan is a all out down to earth person that had a heart the size of the world would help anybody in time of need and hadanever die attidude thanks evan for all rthe help you gave me in the uswf as a fighter god bless see ya dog down the road love ya man

I have been a mma fan before I knew what mma was. When I started watching the sport it was still in its early stages. I have seen many fighters come and go from the main stream shows. ( UFC and at one time Pride) But never did any other fighter give you the feeling that you truly knew them. I followed Evan Tanner with his blog and like many others have come to feel as if I realy know who he was. Most people have two sides too them I do not feel that Tanner did and his openess with his fans about his life shows that to be true. I know he will truly be missed by his fans. At lease one.

Yea bro, you have to remember that this is a mma site. Expect to see the news on Tanner over and over again, it’s a huge loss for mma, and this a site that will respect his name. If you wish to read about war veterans, go somewhere else. It’s your choice that you even read the thread, skip it if you’re over it.

In fact if you can’t respect the warrior spirit that Tanner had, then maybe you as a soldier need to rethink your warrior own spirit.

Are you kidding me? You need to just shut your mouth man!! He was a great fighter and an even better man… he had some problems out side the ring but unlike most people he fought through them and still had a positive outlook on life.
and yea there are real heros that put there life on the line for our country but were not talking about that.. were talking about a former ufc champ that tragicly died… have some sympathy or just shut up…

Wow YouTapped, Just because you aren’t a soldier or some national hero doesn’t mean you can’t be honored when you pass. If you truly love this sport, then you should understand why Tanner’s death hit people pretty hard. He was a warrior in the cage, and if you can’t respect that maybe you’re not a fan of MMA after all.

Seriously, enough already. There are some true heroes out there who go to warzones not to fight but to rebuild the infrastructure and help the civilians. There are some to stand up to opressive regimes and dare to speak up when they know the potentially deadly consequences.

And then there are those who pack a bag and walk out into the desert and everyones is suprised and shocked that they died out there.
