Haha, this was a good episode. Still waaay too early in my opinion to be hyping and focusing on the Couture/Lesnar fight. (However, I was shocked and pleased to see my high school classmate Ryan Hockensmith doing the interview. Thought he did pretty good too. I liked the “Fedor handshake” comment.)

MMA Live is definitely turning out to be a solid program. I hope some day they put it on the air.

I noticed that too. All favorites. I like to try and predict at least one dog to win. :) I could see Rashad winning a decision. Hopefully I’m wrong

chonan/carneiro is a total wild card, impossible to predict that one

I thought that was a easy fight to pick. All Roan can do is work submission. Chonan (and japanese dudes in general) are impossible to submit. Although it was a spit decision I knew Chonan wasn’t loosing this fight. he is a very under rated UFC welterweight! Happy that he got me the win

correction-

i posted that i picked j-mac in my first post

and then mistakenly typed lambert in the second.

so to make things clear i bet 10k on j-mac

not lambert.

im actually watching this event from my hotel.

first time in a while.

I had a question for you guys. In your opinion, if Cote upsets Silva, would that be the biggest upset in UFC history? (replacing St.Pierre Serra I).

Comment by b.w.
2008-09-06 16:53:26

i think it would be mainly b/c it is more current and gsp has exacted revenge over serra. i do think there are a few more people giving cote a chance than there were people giving serra a chance at the time, but my answer is yes it would be the biggest upset ever in the ufc imo.

ISNT’ it funny how dana white said again he’ll wait and sit back for fedor contract to be up and bring him into UFC to fight…. FEdor is #1 dana knows it Randy knows it everyone knows it, Dana would never let Fedor come in beat the crap out of Randy and walk right out of the UFC.. this Fight wont happen.. so long as dana isn’t willing to co-promot.. and yes he said he will but he won’t he’ll do somethign to stop this fight unless its in the UFC and fedor has signed a 3 fight contact maybe more..

@ Ricky

Never say never, man. You may be right; maybe there are too many obstacles. But after the past year, I think it’s apparent to Zuffa that Randy wants Fedor. I think they’ll do everything in their power to get him. Somehow. If Fedor wants the fight, he’ll make it happen. Hey, they might just do a non-title fight. That way they could pull off a one fight deal.

Why would the UFC co promote with anyone?

It doesn’t make any sense for them to do that.

If I was Dana White I would never do it.

Looking forward to UFC88 should be a good one tonight. Bummed about Karo not being able to perform who knows when we’ll see him next. Really looking forward to the other 4 fights on the main card.

Karo has made himself a liability now, axiety will be a big problem now, and grasping a main card return is going to be rough to justify. I don’t buy the injury, I think he broke down, it happens.

Comment by MMACrossfire

@ Ro-J

You have nothing to go on. You just have a feeling that he’s lying? His only liability was in disclosing his problem. Now, people like you accuse him of being a liar. Lotta fighters (and I mean a LOT of fighters) have been accused of inventing injuries to duck fights. Then later they describe in detail what happened, and people are like, “Oh, okay, he was really hurt.” Don’t assume.

This has to be the best MMA-oriented news broadcast. I’ve seen HDNet’s show, which I dig. But his is a cut above. Very well put together. A few misspeaks here and there, but overall it’s just very, very well done.

i hope it makes it to the tube eventually. ive said it before, i think espn should be able to find and hour a week for this show sometime. most likely on espn2. the previuos shows were 48 minutes, the usual time an hour long show airs with commercials i think. it looked like they were gonna start to air it on t.v. but pulled back. maybee all the randy/brock buzz will help give it a good bump.

Funny.
When they announced Lesnar V Herring, I said that they were going to give him a title shot. Nog got one after a lackluster Herring fight. The shot was handed to Nog too soon, and Lesnar too soon. Nothing new here.
I’ll just enjoy the fight if Lesnar drops the ‘Dry Hump’.
