Elite XC recently revealed two fights for its next Sho XC event at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, Calif., on September 26.
Undefeated heavyweight prospect Shane Del Rosario (4-0) will face former Syracuse Orange linebacker Jon Murphy (4-3) and welterweights Matt Makowski (3-0) and Erik “Bad” Apple (9-1) will also face off.
This will be Del Rosario’s third appearance on a Sho XC card. He has wins over Analu Brash and Amedio Viola in his prior matches. Del Rosario doubles as a professional Muay Thai fighter as well, boasting a (5-1) record with five knockouts.
Jon Murphy is a step up in competition for Del Rosario, but Murphy has shown in previous fights he has trouble with big, strong and aggressive strikers (see losses to Houston Alexander and Brett Rogers). If Del Rosario’s Muay Thai skills are as good as advertised, this could be a nice “feather-in-your-hat” type win for him in front of a Showtime audience.
Makowski is the guy who made Nick Serra quit in Newark, N.J., back at the at the CBS May 31 show. He’s a tall, athletic guy with a very nice all around game. He’s a very good prospect for Elite XC and deserves the airtime on the Challenger Series.
His opponent, Erik Apple, isn’t too shabby, either.
He has been out of action for nearly a year and a half after suffering the first loss of his career to Brock Larson at WEC 26 in March of 2007. Before that he had won all nine of his pro fights, ending five by submission and three by technical knockout.
This will be the eighth Sho XC Challenger Series event since Elite XC’s inception in 2007. Other notable matches that have taken place under the banner include KJ Noons vs. Edson Berto, Victor Valenzuela vs. Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett, Eddie Alvarez vs. Ross Ebanez, Paul “Semtex” Daley vs. Sam Morgan and Poai Suganuma vs. Jared Hamman I & II.

Does anyone know when this show will be cancelled?
It will be on the next thread.
LMAO!!! Thats what we are all gona think now for every EliteXC ProElite and who ever else is associated with them!
I sure hope not. The ShoXC cards have actually been quite entertaining. And believe it or not, some people, including myself, like to see some of the young up and coming prospects early on in thier career. That way, 3 - 4 years from now when they make it to the UFC, I know all about them.
In my opinion, the only real bashing that can be done on EliteXC is their CBS debut show. That and the fact that they bend over backwards for Gina Carrano (figuratively, not litteraly) with the weight exceptions and hiding her from Cyborg!
Well put VM..
VM, you are right to a point, but it sounds to me like you did not watch the show last Friday. It was one of the worst and most boring displays of MMA in recent memory. The only guy who was any good was Cameos and his fight ended in 40 seconds. I have seen some decent shows from ShoXC, but these guys were not up and comers, they were has beens and never will bees.
I too like these events. Gives me some mma to watch when there are no big events scheduled. I also enjoy watching the young up and commers!
I most certainly watched the show on Friday - I have yet to miss an Elite Promotions event. I would not say that it was boring. The first fight with KO Kid Berry vs Lizama was very entertaining if you like a slug fest- both displayed heart, and we got to see an upset. Berry has much more potential than Lizama even though he lost. Camoes has the potential to be a star in the making. Cyrille Dibate picked his opponent apart and I hope to see Cyrille face Rafael Feijao for the title before throwing Hammand to him. Both Suganuma and Hamman have some potential, even though I of course never see them holding the UFC LHW belt, both of them seem worthy to fight on a UFC undercard prelim. I mean some of the fighters the UFC has been signing have been quite pitiful. I think that either Suganuma or Hamman would have an excellent shot at winning TUF this season if they were on it. I am actually a fan of Jared and hope to see him do well. This was the first ELite event where the female fight dissapointed. Other than the chick fight, what part of the show did you find boring???? The Diabate beatdown?
Othe than BoDOg, which barely anyone watched, ShoXC had Eddie Alvarez’s big TV debut. That was the first fight of his I watched live and have been a big fan ever since. Also, like the article mentions, Paul Daley has fought on ShoXC.
I wouldnt mind seeing Cyril vs. fejao either!
It started off okay, but the chick fight absolutly bored me to tears and maybe I was never able to come back around. I was not very impressed with Dibate, I just think he was a little sloppy. He would have no chance agaisn’t Feijao. Suganuma vs Hamman was okay as well, but again I don’t think either is an up and comer to look out for. Cameos is the diamond in the rough and he is someone to look out for. Like I said before I have seen ShoXC put on some decent shows, but I was dissapointed overall last week. I will continue to watch because I can’t stand to think I may actually miss something, like the next big fighter in MMA.
And keep in mind that ShoXC is literally the minor leagues / farm system for EliteXC
Let em know VM…Agree with everything you said above.
Hey spida, you have some brown stuff on your nose…
what like heroin?
lol fun fun… ever been to mexico? ;D
Didn’t Carano say she wanted to fight Cyborg when they interviewed her at their last CBS show?
Also, I like to root for Jon Murphy. He seems like a good, classy act.
do you think a show like this is entertaining or annoying? It doesn’t seem to be educational.
I can’t wait for another ShoXC card.
They are always very entertaining and gives us MMA fans a chance to watch some talented up and commers.
If you hate, then you are just a hater, period.
Matt Makowski, Bad Apple, and Shane Del Rosario have really bright futures ahead of them.
