why is dana white’s face all over any article involving mma. Do we see Bud Selig in commercials instead of baseball players? Is David Stern taking Lebron James’ spot on nike’s commercials? is playboy asking Roger Goodell for an interview over some of the nfl’s top players? Dana White needs to take a few steps back and stay out of the limelight that he worships so much and let the real people who make the sport popular have their chance for major publicity. and the ONLY people who make this sport popular and fun are THE FIGHTERS. anyone who thinks dana white has something to do with making people a fan of the sport is probably a reality tv/soap opera fan. mma would not be where it is today without the fighters who’ve stepped into the cage/ring. if anybody could do it Toughman would’ve sunk the ufc years ago.

NBA was big long before Stern came aboard; whereas MMA was nothing in the US until Dana came aboard.
I am all for putting the faces of fighters all over the place which I believe is inevitable, but downplaying Dana’s huge influence on the sport is a little naive.

ufc was well on its way long before dana white was in the picture. the ufc was putting on good fights with excellent fighters in the mid-late 90’s. ufc had been doing it’s thing about a decade prior to dana’s involvement. the only fans TUF 1 brought to the sport were either couch potatoes or people who didn’t give the ufc a second glance until an outstanding fight was unfolding right in front of their eyes. i’ve been a huge ufc fan since the beginning and my support of the sport has never wavered but it makes me sick year after year seeing dana’s big head and big mouth more and more visible while fighters haven’t got much more appeal than they did 10 yrs. ago.

Wow deuce 4, where do you live, b/c we obviously must be watching entirely different things? I have to disagree with just about all you have said. sure, the UFC existed before Dana, but if you think it would be where it is w/o him today, then you are sadly mistaken. Whether you like it or not, TUF made the UFC (and MMA)’s popularity explode. It was a huge step in drawing in what IMO are the bulk of the UFC’s fans, casual or not, whether you like it or not. And those fans who fell in love with the sport, in turn, watch other productions now as well. This arguement is a waste of time, cuz I’ve posted to comments like this so many times before it’s pathetic. Dana is expanding the UFC into states where it previously wasn’t allowed, boosted it’s popularity in other countries, and is perhaps the biggest reason WHY MMA is becoming mainstream. And as this is a relatively young sport, his contributions to it make him more than worthy to be interviewed by magazines and t.v. (although he should cut back the f bombs). You don’t think Stern and Selig get asked for interviews ALL the time? To land an interview with one of those two is a reporter’s wet dream, b/c they offer far more insight into the sport they represent than most players ever could, especially in the behind the scenes goings on. ( and the point you make of Selig taking Lebron’s place in commercials doesn’t make sense, as that I know of, Dana isn’t starring in any commercials promoting products other than his company.) His contribution to the growth of the UFC has helped fighters all over the planet, b/c the UFC has brought the sport more into the limelight, it’s popularity has fueled other organizations giving fighters more options on where to make a living. If you don’t like him, fine. But respect what he has done for the sport so you make yourself sound ridiculous. And, by the way, I hate reality shows and soap operas.

Well, it’s very simple, I add a unique perspective to the site (while not always well received). I put my heart into my thoughts and opinions and never hold back on how I feel. I also do a great piece (not as much lately) called the morning conversation. I do it for free because I like to have one good non mmamania topic a day. For those of you that have seen the piece, I’ve had as many as 200 responses to my little baby. Thanks for your time, and by the way, the conversation restarts tomorrow, I’m currently doing research for the next one.

Dana is the man.. what much P#$%$#5y has he gotten since going from boxing/mma promotor/manager to Prez of the UFC.. Dana is a position today that most us Maniacs would drool to be in.. Picture a day in the life of Mr. Dana white.. like that movie being Jon Malchvich..something.. imagine being Dana White for a few days.. what would you do?? where would you go?? Which playboy bunny would you want to be with?? What fight would you announce? What would you say to your favorite UFC fighter..or least favorite (Kos..ex) who would you bring to the UFC and who would you cut from the UFC??.. it’s just a thought.

I should get one because my wife works with this girl whose friend is the centerfold this month. Also my wife’s friend was going to pose for playboy and she is not at all ugly either. My wife went around trying to find that playboy an couldn’t find one anywhere. So I think that’s pretty brave of my wife to go around telling people that she needed that playboy magazine. Also this is a remote chance for me to see someone I could meat socially, naked.
