brad morrisBrad Morris (9-3) and Octagon newcomer Jason Brilz (15-1-1) will collide in a light heavyweight clash at UFC Fight Night 15 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Neb., on September 17, according to MMAonTap.com.

It’s a 205-pound fight that is slated for the preliminary card, which makes it unlikely that it will air during the Spike TV broadcast that begins at 8 p.m. ET.

Regardless, this will mark the first fight in the division for Morris after getting creamed by Cain Velasquez in a heavyweight bout at UFC 83: “Serra vs. St. Pierre 2” in April. Prior to the loss, the Australian prospect strung together four consecutive winning performances.

Brilz, on the other hand, boasts a near perfect professional record and has won 11 straight contests. The Nebraska-based fighter –- who is a decorated amateur wrestler -– has notable wins over veterans such as Jason MacDonald, Alex Schoenauer and others.

Two lightweight match ups -– Nate Diaz vs. Josh Neer and Clay Guida vs. Mac Danzig –- highlight the Spike TV special presentation, which serves as the lead-in to The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 season premier at 10 p.m. ET.

It’s shaping up to be a great night of action. To check out the latest UFC Fight Night 15 card and rumors click here.

“A wrestler from Nebraska. This bout will feature lots of fast-paced action with minimal full guard dry-humping,” he noted with just a touch of sarcasm.

I hope Morris does well in his fight – more exposure is needed for MMA in Australia!

I’ve been away for a week and missed all the exciting threads.

Damn, can Fitch take a beating :?

WAR BJ, BJ looks like a man on a mission. I’m a huge fan of GSP but he knows he aint beating BJ.

Did anyone hear if Irvin responded to his failed drug test??

WTF Matt Hughes. The most blatant case of trying to get another big fight with GSP.

Sorry for being off subject.

“He knows he aint beating BJ” ??? LMAO!!! all you guys that say that are funny. Was that the case in the first fight? Penn is dominating LW’s while GSP is dominating WW’s. You guys are going to be real heart broken when GSP smashes BJ!!!

JV, you are a funny guy also. GSP did look very good agaisn’t Fitch, but no way he smashes BJ. BJ hasen’t even had a challenge at 155. It isn’t that big of a stretch for me to believe he will make the change to 170 the right way and IMO beat GSP in what will be remembered as one of the best fights ever!

BNF – you said it right (155) is where BJ is not challenged. At WW is a whole different story. BJ is like one of those kids that will never accept he gets his a$$ kicked! Did you not hear the crowd boo him after GSP/Fitch? I want this fight to happen so bad. Now all I hear is GSP is scared blah blah blah. IMO, BJ would not do so good with Fitch or even Diego, maybe a win, but not dominate!

Auto, I just read that Irvin said he took pain killers without a perscription because his previous foot injury was bothering him. I think that is what I told you when the story first came out.

BJ Penns brother gave an interview today saying that BJ vs. GSP will probably take place on the superbowl card!

Dave Meltzer, the guy who said Atencio was lying about selling 100,000 ppv’s for Affliction Banned, now is saying that Affliction 1 may have well sold over 100,000 buys.

Tito is now negotiating with Affliction, EliteXC, afl and even the UFC.

Mike Swick will also be fighting at UFC 90

John- Dave Meltzer first reported 50k to 85k. Now hes saying 65k to 100k which is not that big of a difference. Affliction still lost a sh*t load of money. And Affliction 2 will do worse, IMO. There is a reason why Atencio doesnt release the PPV buys?
