*Note: Fighters are allowed to weigh one pound more than the division limit in non-title fights.
The main event of the night will be a light heavyweight rematch between Poai Suganuma and Jared Hammen. The two fighters sport identical records (9-1) after Suganuma handed Hamman his first career loss in a 15-second knockout (flying knee) at an April SHO XC event.
For Elite XC, this event is expected to inject some much needed buzz into the 205-pound division. Brazilian Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante is widely considered the kingpin of the promotion’s light heavyweight class, but company executives are hoping a star or two will emerge from this event as a likely opponent for Feijao in the company’s first division title fight sometime in the near future.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the main card action tomorrow night (Friday, August 15), which is slated to begin at 11 p.m. ET on Showtime from the aforementioned Table Mountain Casino.
Of course, the latest quick updates of the prelim bouts will begin to flow earlier than that at around 9 p.m. ET.
See you then!

Sad when Sammy Morgan was the FIRST and only name I’ve heard of.
maybe because you are a UFC addict and not a MMA addict.
That would actually be an incorrect assumption on your part due to faulty logic. The UFC is an MMA organization, therefore it is possible for me to be both a UFC addict and an MMA addict. However, it would be more difficult for me to enjoy the UFC if I did not enjoy MMA (because that is part of a whole).
But then again, I’d have to side with ekc in the fact that your SCREEN NAME is UFCAddict…
LOL
I’ll be watching tonite. I do not know much about the guys fighting on the card, but I am a bit more interested in the Main Event after seeing Jarrad Hamman on Inside MMA on HDnet. He seemed very normal and down to earth. I’ll be rooting for Hammond but would have to imagine that he is a tad of an underdog in this one. Speaking of which, has anyone seen a website offering odds on this event?
I see your point… however, if I were to call myself NFLAddict, it wouldn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy watching NCAA Football, too.
Now that I know about this, I have to watch it. It’s a problem I have, I can’t not watch MMA. Unless of course it’s a total snooze fest.
poai trains with bj over here, heres a awesome guy. Watch for him, by the way this match will end the same, well almost..jared will be totally out.
Poai Suganuma was the one who injured Chuck Liddell’s hamstring a few months ago. Suganuma was visiting and training a The Pit during the filming of Tapouts first 2008 episode that featured Glover & Lighty. From what I understand, Suganama and Chuck were sparring stand up only with no takedowns. Suganuma got excited with all the cameras around and shot in on Chuck and caused the hamstring injury that postponed the first Rashad Evens v.s. Chuck fight. At the time, Suganuma was staying at Chucks house while training. After the incident he was told to leave.
WAR Rosi
Looking forward to seeing her Stateside again !
Who the hell names them self The Poet?
That Debi Purcell is the one fighting Carano, no??? She weighed in at 129 lbs. Carano is goign to cut as much as she can and still come in at 140-150. Shw is going to have a hell of a weight advantage.
I am so sick of her and Elite XC letting it happen. They made a DIVISION just for HER!!! And shw still doesnt make weight. I am waiting for an opponent to refuse to fight her if she cant make weight!!!!!
I love having showtime. Poai is a beast and this will be a cool card to watch for free.
“That Debi Purcell is the one fighting Carano, no???”
No, Carano is fighting Kelly Kobald on Oct. 4th. Different weight class.
Of course, the latest quick updates of the prelim bouts will begin to flow earlier than that at around 9 p.m. ET.
No news?!?!?!!
any info on the Brock Rave fight please??
