Another reason this fight must go down is that there has probably never been a match up in mma history in which the fans of each fighter have been more convinced that their fighter was going to win. And it doesn’t hurt that the winner can make a claim to #1 P4P.

Actually it was GSP getting out of a sub at the bell. Everyone doesn’t know BJ cracked a rib. Let me get this straight, BJ was STILL holding a big strong guy like Hughes, right up to the BELL (not 2 seconds before). You’ll have me beleive that BJ was able to do that,yet by resting 1 minute, he couldn’t even move his legs or arms to get away from Hughes’s (lighting fast ) strikes. Did he hurt his rib sitting down between rounds? I’m not doubting, losing core mobility from a pulled rib. I am doubting a rib was pulled (very baddly) if he DIDN’T lose core mobility IMMEDIATELY while still holding Hughes. He couldn’t walk to his corner, he held that sub WAY to long and simply burnt his legs and arms OUT.

I agree Mc19, GSP might have been ducking something, but it wasn’t that he is scared of BJ. They noticed some unsureness is his voice,but neglected to notice it was when or how he said,”BJ deserves it” (or better yet, how he sidestepped around it). GSP want’s to move up to MW and challenge for the belt,but ONLY after he has cleaned his own division. I don’t see why he would hold a different standard for BJ than for himself. I don’t think he does beleive Penn deserves it, when he has only beaten, Stevenson and Sherk. I don’t think he deserves it either(at least fight Florian) and I don’t care, I want to see this fight. A fight like this is more about what the fans deserve and it could lose some of it’s appeal, for various reasons if it is put off to long. GSP will fight him regardless,because he always fights whoever the UFC put in front of him.
