GSP! WOW!!! How good is GSP! Where are all the Penn lovers now? Like I said, Penn would get destroyed worse!!! If I could ask Fitch one question: “Is GSP still scared to get knocked out???”

I said Lesnar was a beast, DAM! Herring looked nasty! hey Kevin, Brock not only beat experience but he, DESTROYED, DEMOLISHED, or like Rampage says PETER ROLLED experience!!!

Florian pulled a (Machida) for some reason? And Huerta looked like he wasnt even interested? I dont know what happened in that fight but, the finisher was running, and the matador didnt want to k*ll?

Manny should try 145 thats all I can say!

Kongo is not that impressive IMO. And now he wants a title shot?

2008-08-10 13:17:38

lener impressed, and bj fan is right here. put him against anyone in mma, his new found ethic will prevail. Congo sucks, and florian looked good, not great, but agree with his game plan! manny loked karo is a douche. Goldie saying this is as likeable kid you’ll ever meet made me actually lol

Kahaluu Caz, GSP never really said yes because GSP wants to give the title shots to those who deserve it, and GSP already went throught Penn so he probly does not think BJ deserves it right now, last time Penn fought at 170 he was handed back to back loses from Hughes and GSP….

Are you high, an off the couch Penn beat the crap out of GSP on the feet and GSP had to take him down to lay on him and do nothing. When BJ ask if he wanted to make the fight happen GSP never realy said yes. He said he would give the fight to who realy desevred it. Why, because he knows the trouble BJ Poses on the feet and lets not go to the ground because BJ’s ground skills is at level WAY, WAY, WAY, higher then Fitches. So you wanted to know where we are (BJ PENN FANS) here i am. BJ-”So you wanna make this fight happen” GSP-”ah i give the fight to person who deserves it but im not trying to duck anyone”. LOL

I give you Penn fans credit, you sure defend your boy. And no Im not high, Im just realistic. Penns dominating 155ers and GSP dominated the biggest WW, didnt just beat him, DESTROYED HIM!!! Sorry you will have your heart broken on NYE.

That’s because BJ doesn’t deserve a shot. GSP isn’t looking for a payday like Penn, he’s looking for the best fight and leaves it to the UFC management to make the call. I don’t think that Penn can take the beating that GSP gave to Fitch.

Yeah there is no way that BJ deserves a title shot at GSP. He should fight Koscheck or Alves to see if he can even hang with these new 170 lbers. All you BJ fans must have had your eyes closed when GSP who was very young and not as experienced beat Penn. Penn was dominated by the bigger faster, and stronger guy. Not to mention the fact that he was out classed in the stand up as well, only reason BJ could do anything was because as usual he began the fight by poking GSP right in the eye, seems to be a good tactic for him that he uses quite readily. BJ is nasty but he aint close to beating GSP. The only thing he has is superior BJJ which did absolutely nothing for him in their first meeting and will do nothing again when hes put on his back at will by GSP. Anderson is a higher ranked fighter than BJ and he doesnt get an automatic title shot at 205 so why should BJ. If he does Ill be disapointed with the UFC for giving in to the hype.

I am a Huge fan of both penn and GSP and I usually deliver unbiased opinions so I am going to keep it real. Penn is the only fighter with a realistic chance of beating gSP at 170 lbs. Jake sheilds, my boy Alves, Diego, none can defeat GSP! Penn however is more then capable as a matter of fact I would probably cast BJ as the favorite for their december fight. Anyone who can pretend like they positively know who is winning that fight is just a liar. These are 2 pretty evenly matched fighters who are both top of the food chain fighters. I would have to give the earlier advantage to BJ. Those two basically fought to a stalemate the 1st time they fought. gSP was in great shape for that fight but in those days, Penn didnt even know what good shape was. So I think GSP will really have some trouble with BJ. I would have to make BJ they early favorite, but not by much!

john, that was not an unbiased comment. You giving Penn the edge is crazy. Penn is also good enough to go 5 rounds like Fitch, but thats it. I hope the UFC makes this fight so we can all see what happens already. Penn looked like a little kid “you want the fight do ya, do ya” Maybe Penn should fight Fitch and see how he does first?

To pretend like 1 fighter is clearly better than the other is foolish. I wont be involved in this dumb game! 2 top 10 p4p fighters…only one way to find out. If they fought 10 times they would each probably win 5 fights. THere are endless possible scenario’s for how that fight plays out, acting like you klnow is just stupid!

And YES Penn would be the favorite! Odds are set according to who everyone will bet, and it will be close but most people will bet BJ making Penn the favorite over GSP. REALITY!

Jesse said it right so there is no point in me saying anything. Way to go Jesse. John starting out saying he is going to give an unbiased opinion and than giving a biased opinion is hilarious. GSP may not be the best BJJ guy in America like BJ, but he is a better person and better fighter. BJ jumping into the cage at the end looked like the WWE and people were saying Brock looked like a clown in his fight?

john your not making sense. You say “to act like we know what will happen is stupid” But in your post above you say “Penn will give GSP problems” how do you know? Then you say “BJ will be the early favorite” again how do you know? Then “Penn didnt know what good shape was” How do you know that? You didnt give an unbiased opinion, you just pointed out things in favor of Penn. Reality john is that GSP already beat Penn! Then Hughes pounded his face in the mat, thats more reality for you! I want this fight to happen as much as you. And your right about BJ fighting GSP right away. Hes a big enough name, and has good wins at LW.

penn will be the favorite because more people will bet Penn than GSP. My point is that both will give each other problems. I wrote Penn would give him problems because of all the day after bloggers who always think that the guy that won the night before is unstoppable. Basically what I was trying to say is this is about as event of a match up as you can get

The ONLY questionable title fight that I believe Penn recieved was when he fought Hughes the first time. I mean most people wonder how a 155 LB fighter would call out a 5-6 winning streak champion like Matt Hughes. But you know what, Penn choked em out in the 1st round!!!

Here’s a little fact that most of you “TUF” fans might not know:

The night that GSP made his debut against Karo, BJ Penn beat Matt Hughes to become UFC Welterweight Champion in what was considered one of the biggest upsets in UFC history at UFC 46.

Here is another fact, Hughes took his title back the next fight by beating Penn on the ground.

naturalshadow what are you talking about? Are you crazy or something, Penn left the UFC and Hughes fought somebody else for the title. I’m the biggest Hughes fan there is and Hughes would not beat Penn again and that is the truth. Hughes was not even impressive fighting Penn and if you would like to point out his win over Penn then compare it to his win over GSP. Both fights Hughes was losing but ended up tapping out GSP with just a few seconds and beat Penn’s face in… one thing I can tell all of you though is that GSP tapped while Penn just sat there and took a beating.

yeah Whites gained weight, but he also looks like he’s packing on muscle, he’s not just your average fat ol’ CEO.

Hard for me to dislike White, he does so many things right and it’s soooo’ cool he does a blog to let us fans follow him around and look at what’s going on inside the UFC.

Yeah, he can be a cheap bastard at times,, but I can’t argue that he does it for the business and trys to keep the guys that are loyal that can produce great fights.

Ex: Huerta needs to chill out, and ride the UFC wave, use his business sense to make money outside of it and fight hard and make that contract grow each time he re-negotiates, he’s only 24 yrs old for crying out loud, too young to be disgruntled with the UFC at this point.

Two things, I liked the comment about the glasses. Looks like you’re about to get shot out of a f***ing cannon. Also, I don’t think it’s a good idea for Dana to be mentioning that Rampage has a lot of money with the potential law suit coming up.

on the gsp vs penn subject:
is bj more talented then gsp? hell yeah
is gsp more athletic/explosive? hell yeah

other than saying that, ive got nothing else. anyone who tries to predict a fight like this is nuts. bj and georges are at such a sick level i think a finish could come at anytime and any round…. Like john said “! 2 top 10 p4p fighters…only one way to find out. If they fought 10 times they would each probably win 5 fights.”

wouldnt bet money on this one!

Fights were sic…..Brock showed major improvement and dominated a top level heavyweight….GSp does what GSp does and played his game to a T, and being a Penn fan i can not wait for those two to go at it! Both are at the top of their game and BJ no longer has the conditioning issue so it would be Fight of the Year potential! I like KenFlo and the way he fought….totally through El Matador off his game!
