why am I nuts? cuz I got Palhares over Hendo? Upsets happen all the time and Henderson fights down to the level of his competition. I know that Dan is starving for a win, I just think that Rusimar is a special fighter. At some point their fight will hit the ground and Dan’s going to get caught in some kind of choke!

I gue4ss u r right BNF. It has been a while since we seen chucky poo KO somebody. Rashad is perfect opponent to KO. Rashad is the most under appreciated Undefeated fighter in the history of the UFC. Do you really see this fight ending any other way? There is now way Rashad has better takedowns than Tito or Randy and we know what Chuck did to them.
I actually think Rashad will come into this fight already mentally defeated. If he didn’t think he belonged in the cage with Tito he sure as hell doesn’t belong in there with Chuck. And Chuck is the perfect counter to his style and he knows it. Also, he is undefeated and all MMA fighters are very aware they will lose, so I bet he has already lost this fight in his own mind.

The winner of this tilt gets the next title show against Forrest Griffen’s LH Championship???
I think it’s a no-brainer
If Chuck wins, as most expect, the UFC gets a another huge PPV with Liddel getting a chance to win back the belt while not having to face his nemisis Rampage Jackson.
If Evans can pull off the upset, the UFC has an equally intriguing match up of pitting two former TUF winners against each other for a division championship.
There really aren’t other LHW’s in the UFC that could create the kind of buzz either of these match-ups would have.
If Chuck wins he will get a title shot, but If Rashad wins, I would be SHOCKED if they were to give him a title shot against Forrest. Could u imagine Rashad being champion of the best division in the sport? Thats even worse than having Forrest champion!
F this fight! The Next title shot should go to the winner of Machida vs. Silva! TO bad the UFC has gone away from awarding title shots to the most deserving fighters. NOw a day its all about which fights could sell the most pay per views, so the winner of Machida vs. Silva would get skipped over for Chuck!
It’s going to be the easiest case of getting your belt back in MMA history.
Forrest should just meet Chuck in his UFC 88 aftershow party and hand him the belt

Machida hasn’t beaten biog names because all the big named fighters are scared to death of facing him. He is undefeated in the UFC. if the UFC were to give title shots to the most deserving fighters then Chuck would have fought Machida in a number 1 contender fight. But thats not the case is it? Why? because Chuck and his camp didn’t want to fight Machida! What a JOKE! 1 thing I always liked and respected about Chuck was that he was willing to fight anyone. Brandon Vera said that he needed more time to prepare for Machida. He was offered the fight very late and close to the event.
Chuck said in a interview that they didnt think Machida would fit his style and maybe make a boring fight. I cant tell fore sure, but Chuck has never been offered Machida. He WOULD take that fight if it was offered to him! for sure.
And for Forrest. hes a joker. thats his style. You would hear a whole different story if he actually was penciled to fight Machida.
Not going around the fact that many fighters seem to dodge machida, and i am one of those people who reaaaaaally enjoy watching him fight, but you cant really take this short interviews that circle on internet-sites and paint a picture how a figheter feels about another fighter. Some are career-moves, some are decisions made my the coaches and a few times it is fear (of losing and setback). No fighter (except Kalib Starnes) that set foot in the octogon are afraid of getting?!
I’m sorry PunchPower but ur trippin if u think this is a weak UFC card, it has more interesting fights on it then UFC 85 had and 86. So i don’t know what ur idea of a stacked card is if u don’t like tha looks of UFC 88’s card? Let me know please.
Rah on the other hand is looking like his normal puss boy self. I think I might actually dislike him more than Kos, which says a lot. What a moron he made himself look like at the press conference leading up to the Tito fight when he walked up to the mic and started barking like a dog. Toolbox!
i really am interested in seeing how rashad evens will do against chuck liddel. rashad hasnt really met a “tough” opponent, his toughest was probably against tito ortiz who is on the decline, but it will be very interesting. im also wondering how rusty he will be because hes had a huge layoff. hes not experienced as chuck either. so we will see, i think on paper its going to be more of chuck getting back into the octagon, but itll be interesting because rashad isnt a pushover either.
I agree that Rashad is no pushover, and because he hasn’t beaten any real major opponents and because he does have that annoying habit of dancing and jumping around people are forgetting that he is a very skilled fighter. Rashad has one of the most explosive takedowns in the division and has shown that he is able to finish a fight in more than one way. His long lay off may definately be a factor (maybe that is what Dana and the UFC are hoping). I do think that Rashad will be able to take down Chuck but keeping him down will be the hard part. Chuck has always done well against wrestlers in the past, but that was the past. If Rashad comes to fight and not dance around, I see him getting a descision win out of this. Chuck looked very impressive against Silva who had no gameplan and just wanted to stand up and bang, he played righ into Chuck strengths. I do not believe that Rashad will be stupid enough to do that. I think he is tough enough and has skills enough to take it to a descision if he turns up ready to fight. The lay of will not help him, but I still think he is being underestimated probably even by Chuck. You can call me crazy, but I also picked Jardine to beat Chuck.
The UFC gave Chuck two guys with styles that gives Chuck fits (Rampage, Jardine). And I’m guessing you’re one of those who said that Wandy was gonna whoop Chuck, then afterwards say that Wandy’s style is perfect for Chuck to beat? Many ppl were also saying that Randy is a bad match-up for Chuck after their first fight, and then after Randy got KO’d twice, say that Randy was just another wrestler.
Rashad will win this one. Chuck has power and unorthodox style of punching when he retreats and counters but knocks you out.. But Rashad has good hands, speed and decent power. I think that Rashads boxing style isn’t too different from Rampages.. He is not as powerful but has the same basic skill sets. Not to mention he will get take downs. Upset of the year..trust me!
DO NOT SLEEP ON EVANS!!! He has proven that he at least deserves a shot like this and he did not get here by mistake. He’s fought and won (IMO even the TITO fight) all the fights he’s been in. Chuck has shown that he is human and can lose. I’d could see Chuck taking this fight too lightly and getting caught…hmmm…Jardine flashback!!?? Evans has proven he can use his feet, he’s a strong puncher, he can take a punch and is a really good wrestler. Chuck better be on his “A” game for this one.
Check out were Rashad’s hand is at and then look at his face and then his lips - all puckered out. Kind of one of those “deer in headlights” or I hear you talking but I am trying to concentrate on grabbing Chuck’s butt.
Im sick of the chuck haters and their favirout shout of “hand picked” Opponents!!!! Arseholes!
Lets lay it out, Chuck is one of few fighters who actually wants to get back in the octagon with a guy who demolished him, then change tactics and demolish them!! Horn/Randy. Further he has been owned by rampage, then couldnt wait to fight him again, got owned and yet again cant wait to fight him again. Put money on Liddell wanting to fight jardine again also!!!!! To say Liddell handpicks opponents is ludicrus and it pisses me off, he ducks nobody!! Including Machida, if chuck beat Machida everyone would say he (Machida) hadnt fought credable ooponents and that it was a “hand picked” opponent! Its ridiculous and so un-educated in mma to say these hypocritical things, just shut up already!!
Who the hell has chuck not fought that was a number 1 contender when he was champ? who else would step in to the octagon against one of the scariest strikers in mma after 2 straight defeats (Wandi v chuck)? Hes getting hand picked opponents my arse, hes just a great figher and few can find the tools to beat him. Thats the real fact to all you chuck haters, find somthing else to talk shit about because this is boring now!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrreat card cant wait for it!
ps. Rashad will be tough opponent for most in the division, lets not forget he won tuf at heavyweight and he could cut to 185!!
i hope liddell destroys evans. he is a boring fighter and does not have any gnp skills. he just lays on top of opponents, and doesn’t even attempt to improve position. liddell ftw.
nice work to photo shop Liddell’s gut into a six pack!

I never said anything bad about Liddell He’s my favorite fighter in mma
man look at the rack on him
One has tits, the other has a beer belly.
Talk about athletes!
Lets keep building the Liddell legacy by throwing him more wrestlers that he can beat.
Machida or Thiago Silva would make Liddell look like Thiago Alves made Hughes look, and Dana White knows that.
Keep the Chuck dream alive.
How about Liddell vs. Rich Franklin at 205 someday. Battle of UFC poster boys.
i hope liddell destroys evans. he is a boring fighter and does not have any gnp skills. he just lays on top of opponents, and doesn’t even attempt to improve position. liddell ftw.
