Looks like he’s really bored, like he just doesn’t give a damn about the weigh in. Or maybe with his arms up like that he’s tellin the crowd to bring it on.

THURSDAY MORNING CONVERSATION WITH KEVIN:
I want to be the first to say thank you very much to mania for actually answering a few questions yesterday, I really appreciated it! Today will be the last day of questions, tomorrow back to analizing fights or fight topics!
Lets learn a little more about the guys here on mmamania (maniacs), I know Johns at Drexel and Mike is in Conn, but how bout you other guys. What made you start postibg?
* I’m 31 and in the san fran bay area. I was just a ufcmania reader for 6 months before I posted a comment. I would sometimes read sherdog and was always turned off by the way the elitists would always say guys were dumb for asking a real question, or jumping on someone for merely disagreeing. I was vwry impressed at the level of knowledge that 90% of the mmamaniacs had. I first posted because I disagreed with John, and the rest as they say, is history.

From Toronto. I’ve been on the site since the first GSP title fight. I tried discussing MMA with the guys at work and they weren’t nearly as interested as I was and I definately have found a lot more interest on this site. I also like reading the news articles.

Im 28, from Birmingham England and started watching MMA on the internet first, things like Ultimate KOs and then was amazed when TUF was shown on Bravo in UK (Cable Channel). Started reading UFC.COM and then searched for other sites. Like OJR thought MMAJunkie was ok at first but got bored with all the name calling & insults. I enjoy reading the posts and appreciate the knowledge that most of the longterm/hardcore posters have.

Cheers guys!!

24 yrs of age, livin in Denver, CO. I think I was like 10 yrs old when I saw UFC 1 back in the 90’s on VHS. My father rented the old UFC tapes (back then weren’t so old I guess). Broke away from it for a while and then came back to it after the Tito Ortiz era had ended just in time to catch Randy as the LHW champ. I’m an mma fan but currently training boxing under Lonnie Smith, former WBC welter weight champ.

I am 26, living in Philadelphia. I attend DRexel University and I will be graduating in about 6 months. The only reason I attend school is in hopes of landing a marketing job with the UFC….No other job will do!
I have been on this site for a while now, I found the site while googling mma. For about 6 months I came on this site to just look at the news, 6 months later I started blogging and have been addicted ever since. I wont be attending this site very much from this september-March because I have to do an internship as a graduation requirment for DREXEL U. I commute to school and I am on campus about 8-12 hours a day. I post from class, or in between classes in the library waiting for my next class to start. I have been watching the UFC since the beginning, but my true love was/is PRIDE FC and Japanese MMA!

Married for a year and two months, no kids, atheist, libertarian, one dog (rottweiler, female, weighs about 65 kilos, name shirra), got family in the US, Portugal, Austria and mainly in Brazil in various states (we populate a lot, so we need to keep moving to give other countries branches from my family). Work at an international programming company and my job is very boring and slow (figures why I’m here so much), get overpaid for what I do, but my boss is cool and I love my job.

don’t quite remember how long ago I came to MMAMania, but it must have been about a year or so. I was searching for MMA news since we don’t have much news of MMA in Brazil and found the site. since then I fell in love with this site and the community as a whole. Me too, just came home from a vacation. Just loved the sands that I was lyin’ on just hours ago. Now I’m back here in the metro, in the hardcore Philippine islands!

Syd is my name.25… And even if I’m Filipino like Brandon Vera, I find his fights very boring as of late.

Been on this site a couple of months now, and I started threading because here, we’re on the same level. Unlike in some other websites where the guys aren’t the least bit updated. Here, everythin’s real time!

I’ve been followin’ the UFC since UFC 2 I think. I was also into pride back then[because of Sakuraba]. I only get my daily dose of MMA either here at work, or in the office. I started grappling back in high school. MY buddies also teach me a little bit of Muay Thai and there’s even one who knows Jeet Kune Do[for free!!]. I also have wrestler friends, and I’m actually plannin’ on doin’ boxing.

I’m in a grunge-punk band named The Front Acts and I do the drummin’ duties because the original drummer went to a reggae/ska band so I switched from bass to drums. But I do love beatin’ people’s asses if they deserve a beatin’, if you know what I mean? Hehe!! As much as possible though, I stay out of trouble. I don’t give chicks the eye when their boyfriends are around, hehehe!

B-rad! LMAO! that is perfect name for Rob Emerson.

B-rad “THE OG from the OC” vs. THe British Prostitute! THis fight has no business being televise. Why not have 1 of the UFC’s top HW’s Cheik Kongo fight instead of this TUF battle! All these TUF fights should be banned from pay per view. Nate Diaz isnt on pay per views, so why should these Twirps be? THis fight is much more appropriate for a UFN card…It has no business on PPV!

I doubt we will get to see any undercard fights because Fitch vs. GSP will be a very long fight. I can actually see it going the distance ( 5 rounds would be great experience for both fighters because Neither has fought more than 15 minutes. Florian vs. HUerta wont be over quickly either so I really dont expect to get to see the uindercard fights.

I really want to see:
Cummo vs. the BarnCatt
Kongo fight
Ben Saunders!

any of those fights will be better than that British slut!

You’re right, they do look very similar. Howver, the difference is that Fitch’s tatoo is the ancient Chineese symbol for “Warrior Spirit”, meanwhile, GSP’s ancient Chineese symbol represents “I have a fragile mind, little heart, and I live with my parents”

So (purely example) instead of one saying, say, Warrior Spirit, it said Funny Fish Crawling and weird stuff like that. I want to find a list of them now, but I’m not sure where to look. Oh well, at least it’s not a barbed wire tattoo around the arm.

nothing worse than barbed wire. When I was in vegas I was gonna get some more ink, they wanted 600 for a small piece that would’ve taken 45 minutes tops. I laughed right in that freaks face!

That’s right pat. Brandon Vera’s symbols are actually the FIlipino’s ancient alphabet or somethin’. It’s called “Alibata”. SOme rock stars here in the Philippines have those symbols on their forearms. But I really can’t decipher the meanings of those symbols. 1 symbol is like 1 letter, like the Greek alphabet.

The Q&A has been announced. It is going to be Amir Saddollah and Dana White. Not exactly as exciting as the Liddell, Anderson Silva, etc Q&As, but thats who it is.

Who ever decided to put the Manny vs Rob fight on the card should be taken out back and beaten with a hose.

Not sure HH - Brock fight is going to end up being exciting, I think HH might be tentative due to Brock’s wrestling which will bring down the pace of the fight. Maybe I’ll be wrong.

K-Flo vs Huerta has the potential to be fight of the year though, hope it is a WAR.

By the time i scraped some decent cash together all the decent seats were sold and am not about to spend even 50 bucks to sit next to douchebags in Tapout and affliction gears to watch a screen.
