This afternoon is your last chance before the first fight goes off later tonight at around 7:30 p.m. ET. Make the best of it.

Here are the cold hard numbers:

BETUS BODOG
“Ruthless” Robbie Lawler -260 -260
Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith +200 +200
Jake Shields -350 -330
Nick “The Goat” Thompson +250 +240

Question: Does anyone know exactly which fights will air on showtime tonight?

I hope to see the Silva/Eilers fight as well as the Feijao fight

Silva vs Eilers is the main event on Showtime.
Feijao vs Galbraith
Reis vs Caraway.
Are the other two fights on Showtime.

It’s an all Brazilian show!

elite xc aint the only organization apart from the ufc in mma!!!

i like dream and affliction, IFL (sometimes) and even cage rage

i watch elite xc but y do every little bit of news on it! what makes this org so special from the rest that you have to do constant news on it!! i’m just gettin abit sick of it

i like this website but they’re goin overboard on elite xc

I am not really sure they are going overboard on it. It is really the only show going on this weekend. They are just directing their resources to the most current MMA event. I am sure the next couple weeks will be full of UFC stuff.

I dont think Elite XC is very good at doing much of anything but there are a few good fights on this card. Do they deserve the coverage they are getting probably not but more MMA never hurt, much any way.

If nick did go back to the ufc.. i wonder if he would fight at welterweight or light weight.

I think he would fight at LW and go after Penn. After beating Gomi if he beat Penn he could be ranked as a P4P.

i think Diaz he would have trouble making 155. We already have a Diaz in that weight class anyway. He should fight at welterweight in the UFC.

not to mention, Penn would kill him. Diaz’s normal strategy of getting hit in the face while looking for a submission wouldn’t work on a guy with better hands and WAY better BJJ.

I would like to see more of the Diaz boys. If they lay off the grass. Nick can take a beating.

read this:

There seemed to be a big to-do about Fedor Emelianenko’s official salary that was posted from the CSAC this past week. Emelianenko, on record, made a measly $300,000 for his fight against Tim Sylvia while Sylvia made a whopping $800,000. There was much speculation as to what Fedor was actually paid and now Mike Chiappetta at NBC Sports is reporting that the rest of Fedor’s money was indeed in the form of an advance signing bonus:

But a source told NBCSports.com that Emelianenko received a sizable part of his Affliction contract up front in the form of a signing bonus, and added that Emelianenko also owns the rights to his fight footage in several European countries. That second part may not mean much right now but if Affliction chooses to hold an event in Europe, they would have to pay him for the footage.

Love or hate Fedor’s management, you have to concede that they are doing what’s in Fedor’s best interest as far as the money side of things go. Making people pay for your own fight footage as well as getting advance signing bonuses before even stepping into the ring are a couple things that are just unheard of in this sport right now. Fedor’s management team is way ahead of the curve as far as MMA goes right now. Vadim Finklestein is the Drew Rosenhaus of MMA.

No wonder Dana didnt sign him. “Ahead of the game” sure thats why M-1 never amounted to nothing, Pride got bought out, and Affliction will more than likely go under after their 3 shows. Tom Atencio said on InsideMMA that Fedor/Arlovski was not a done deal. Tom said that everybody wants Fedor/Couture. Its the money that fight will bring, not that everybody wants to see it. And Tom said that all the numbers for their show should come in by monday.

Hey guys, what do you think of this? With legal battles, Couture will be a great grandfather before UFC lets him go. So, I was thinking: UFC “release” Randy from his contract (leaving Big Nog as champion, not interim champion), but LET UFC retain the rights to Randy for his fight with Fedor, cross promote with affliction and let the two companies co-promote the fight. And split the revenue. This seems to let everybody off the hook: Randy and Fedor get to fight, Dana doesn’t have to worry about an unsigned fighter holding the UFC belt (even though he wouldn’t actually have it, everyone would see it that way), Affliction could co-promote and get their name out there even more. What do you guys think? Does this sound plausible? It’s the only thing I can think of where nobody seriously loses (except Randy, when Fedor whoops him).

Well I think this has gone too far for any kissing and making up. The only way this fight happens is if its in the UFC. They arent gonna share when in their minds they dont have to. This is either gonna have to play out in the courts and Randy will be old and gray or he is gonna have to go back to the UFC. Dont think there is gonna be any half way to this. Its sad but true.
