Forrest vs Evans? Is Evans the top contender? I can name 5 light heavys that are better than Evans. #1 Macida #2 Thiago Silva #3 Gorjan Relic #4 Luiz Cane #5 Brandon Vera. What about Anderson Silva?> He too fought at 205. Isn’t he deserving of a 205 title after crushing Irvin.
I might be willing to stretch with Machida but, Thiago? Relic? Cane? Even Vera is a stretch be cause he has had 1 fight at 205 with a nobobdy and he looked dog tired.(believe me it hurts me to say this about Vera cuz I have close ties with him, but it’s true) Evans is next in line no doubt. Show me the last person who made Chuck look like a 7 day hangover and I will show you the #1 contender. Rampage’s KO on Chuck doesn’t count bcuz Rampage’s KO was “Alright”… His KO was “clean”….. But Rashad’s KO was nothing by a damn sight short of “NASTY”!!!!!…. Rashad deserves the the next title fight at 205… And as far as I’m concerned, Evans is the Champ cuz no one deserves a shot more than he does, and there is no way in hades that Griffin beats Evans!

No way did forest have that fight, sense when does leg kicks win you a belt, look at the fighters at the end, forest was all bloody and swolen, yet he hardly touched rampage, most of his shots were blocked, his triangle had no effect on rampage and almost got forest powerbombed, rampage was robbeb! forest won the 2nd and that was it. i watched this fight around 12 times and every time i don’t understand how rampage lost, great defense must stand for nothing in mma forest coldn’t touch him.
Here we go. So the amount of blood dictates a winner nowadays eh? So lets just say Rampage landed one punch, and busted Forrest open bad, but at the end of the fight, Forrest has thrown 4 times the punches and landed hundreds of more strikes, because Griffin is bleeding, he loses?

if that happend Big D then i wouldn’t be saying rampage won, but it didn’t. the only “strike” forest landed was his leg kicks, watch the fight again, and close, the only round he wins is the second, and even when he put the L&P on him he landed no good shots. forest won and thats that but how do you win if you don’t do any damage? most his punches were blocked or doged or weak. to win the belt by decition you should have to BEAT the champ not eak out a bad decition with leg kicks.

No im not saying that at all, he won the fight with kicks not leg kicks. the bright red mark on the side of chucks ribs spoke for itself! that, the leg kicks the fact jardine didn’t stop coming forward, and he droped him in the second round won the fight for him, but even that fight was a split dec. the scores at the end of the forest page fight were a landslide. i guess im alone on this one but i’ll take a sore leg over a beating anyday, and for all the people who were saying bisbing was a puss for backing up and jabbing leban, forest did the same thing just with leg kicks, he couldn’t hit page with his hands.

Swizz do you know anything about mma. Forrest if you notice gets cut in all of his fights, most fighters do when you have that much scar tissue. The first round was a nice round for rampage but the second was a 10-8 round, Forrest had him mounted for the entire round. I saw no damage done by rampage for the 3,4 and 5th by rampage. I would suggest you stop swinging on rampages satchel and watch the fight again. If your a true mma fan or know anything about it watch it again and watch closely.
and here we go again, 3rd 4th and 5th round were very close! how ever, if it’s close and can go eighter way it should go to the champ! (because your supposed to stand by your champions) if you say page did not win the 3rd 4th and 5th then certainly you can not say forest did, whats your defense his triangle?(wich came closer to getting him powerbombed than finishing page) as i have said like 6 times already forest’s hands could not touch page, and your 10 8 round if you watch it again was just forest rubbing his elbows in pages face, not hitting him. forest even had mount and did nothing. page was healing the leg in the second. once again i ask you does a solid Defense stand for nothing in mma? if you throw 60 punches into a guys arms does that count for more than say 8 good face shots? in the 3rd 4th and 5th page did much more damage with his hands and every time he hit forest you could tell it hurt. im not swinnging but page won that fight. the ufc just gave it to there golden boy. Why else was the croud chanting forest’s name but them booooed him once he won! i have the fight on DVR i have seen it enough
Are you kidding me? Rampage landed one REALLY good shot, and thats it, Forrest may not have the power Rampage has, but he is one of the most technical guys in the sport, he didn’t much damage, neither of the did, but Forrest fought better and smarter.

A. Silva will never fight Machida because they are team mates. Silva will only jump up to 205 once in awhile to fight but then go back to 185. He has stated he doesn’t want a title shot a 205 because that is what Machida is aiming for.
I dont think you understand, It’s the bouts you won against high level competion that decides if you’re a contender or not, Forrest won against Shogun wich gave him the nr1 contender, Rashad fought Chuck and won, that’s why he’s now the nr1 contender, but it doesn’t say he’s better than the people you named. infact I truly belive rampage should get a re-match… The best fighters in the 205 right now would be 1. Rampage Jackson 2. Anderson Silva and 3. Macida. But that’s only my opnion.

#3 is 185 and #4 is a heavyweight. Numbers one and two might be better but Rashad beat Chuck and Tito and Bonner and has never lost. Manchida deserves the fight but whatever he will be next

i think we should see liota machida vs rampage, winner getting the winner of rishad evans and forest. rich franklin vs chuck liddell or wandy silva in the same event…. and for a super fight, shogun vs anderson silva. my opinion, anderson silva would have both titles and be unstopable, so the ufc should not let him have the chance at the light heavyweight title for a while, or to have him retire from the middleweight title all together, and move permanatly to the light heavyweight weight class (where he belongs), makeing the middleweight title up for grabs. i know it seems unfair, but this is ridiculous, no one is going to beat him at 185 ever!!!! and then franklin should move back down to 185lbs to stay away from silva and possibly fight dan henderson for the title. forget gsp vs silva, it would be a horror show, silva killing him. bj penn vs gsp definetly

Rampage vs. Shogun would open the door for Wandi to fight Lyoto. That would be unbelievable! And that’s why I don’t see it happening. It’s probably going to be Rampage vs. Wandi, Shogun vs. Coleman and Lyoto having to wait a few months more before he will get to fight one of the top 10. I would like to see him up against Jardine, though. It could happen if Jardine would be willing and they found someone to put up against Vera.

He’s only undefeated with wins over Chuck, Bisping, and Jardine on the reality show. Him fighting in the UFC and to still be undefeated has to pit him not only in the top ten, top five would be more realistic.

The other real freak of nature, besideds Lesnar, is Fedor. The UFC will never have the true best HW until they sign Fedor and let him fight the rest of the HW pool. He has already betten Nog, Tim Silvia and Barnett. He IMHO the UFC is missing three top HWs. They need to have Fedor, Overeem and Barnett to have all the best in the world. I have been really impressed with the improvement in Overeem over the past couple of years.

can you guys honestly tell me you would like to see machida as the light heavyweight champ, i will give him credit for being undeafeated but come on, he just runs for most of the fight. personally i can’t stand the way he fights. If he did get the belt he would probably hold it for a long time but almost all the title fights at 205 would be boring. He fights to win a desision and i can’t stand that, he hardly ever tries to finish. How is what machida does that much different to what starnes did against quary.
Starnes broke his foot in the first round . Starnes also requested to be let go from his UFC contract , and the request was granted . ( WHAT’S MACHIDA’S EXCUSE!!!!! )
Machida has KO wins over Rich Franklin and Stephan Bonnar. He also busted up and submitted Sokudju. He is a patient fighter so many of his 3 round fights have gone to a decision, but many of those opponents would not make it to the end of a 5th round (example Tito Ortiz). My point is that the fights might be long, but we would likely see a lot more finishes out of him if he were the champ. Machida’s skill set is second to none (OK, maybe one … his close friend the Spider), but he’s not very martketable due to his lack of excitement so I don’t think we will see him battling for the title anytime soon.

god, i hate people that dont understand MMA like you Turndawg. For u to say MMa is rigged makes no sense. If it was, then Chuck would have beat Rashad and Rampage and Jardine. If it was, rich would have beat Silva the first time they fought. If it was rigged youve have ancient fighters in there still competeing since they would still be winning. UFC is not rigged. As far as Rashad vs Griffin goes, i do believe rashad deserves the shot. Im a HUGE chuck fan. I made argument after argument over the Jardine and Rampage losses. I couldnt say anything after the Rashad fight except “damnnnnn” and “chuck NEEDS to update his style.” Rashad out struck chuck, No fighter has truly done that succesfully. Rashad is deserving of the shot. Rashad taking advatage of chuck mistake shows HE IS able to learn and adapt. Id rather him be champion then lyoto. Id go to sleep if lyoto was, only fun fight i saw with him was against Sokudju (or however you spell it….)
If u think that Machida is boring and Rashad is a deserving champion and exciting then something is wrong. I agree Rashad is the NO. 1 contender he has beaten Liddell by ko-punch, Bonnar by dec.-un, Bisping by dec-sp, Salomon by kick, Lambert by G&P,Hogar by boring ass dec, Hector Ramirez before he fought in the UFC and had a draw against Tito but he is way to boring to watch. Just before 2007 he was being criticized for being boring and not finishing fights he was almost like the TUF 2 version of Koscheck @ 205, he has improved a lil bit since then but has a lot to improve to become an elite LHW. He is a deacent fighter but does not match Machida in skill, just look at what Machida did to Tito and and what did Rashad do, he just moved around and did the chicken run and got away with a draw. I just don’ t see Evans beating Machida, if Tito and Soku coulden t do it hows Rashad gonna do it only if he pulls some lucky trick but i doubt it. I honestly think it should be like this: Mir and Nog fight for the interim, then have Wanderlei fight against someone like Vera or even Gouveia if he goes back up to 205 where he belongs, then have Rampage go up against either Shogun/Franklin or have Rich Franklin fight Bonnar that can be a match up of its own. Then have Okami go agaist Hendo i think it would be a better match up for now than lister, have Lister fight against Pallahares they have both a good ground game. For the premli. they could have Thomas Dwarl vs. Tim Boestch and Houston Alexander vs. Andy Resse?( The guy that lost to Brandon Vera at UFC FN 14 in july the wrestler, don’t remember his name.)

yeah, for sure this is one of my favorite pay per views of the whole year, 3 big main events all in one night, and my favorite fighter rampage is on the card to. I think the rampage vs wandi fight is going to be the fight of the night, i’m really pullin for rampage, but im not to sure he’s training with a camp with a lot of talented fighters. i mean all they really hav that ive herd is michael bisbing, and i think he should go train at extreme couture or somewhere that has more professional and talented fighters. but i know wandi trains with randy couture and forrest griffen in las vegas. and wandi could get some advice on how to fight jackson and wat jackson does, since he’s the one who took his title. i think if rampage trains harder than any other fight he’s had, and working on how to defend/ get out of the clinch and comes up with a great gameplan, then i think he will win either by ko or tko in any round. next we hav the forrest griffen vs rashad evens fight. i think this fight is going to be an all out war. i think forrest just needs o train hard and make sure he trains everything, i think the same goes for rashad only rashad should work a little bit on his stand up and takedowns. this fight is a toss up to me, but if i had to choose one, i would probly choose forrest because i think he’ll be able to stuff his rashads takedowns and if not he will be able to get right back on his feet where i think he has a slight advantage as long as he tries to stay away from rashads power punches. and lastly in the main event we hav nogera vs frank mir. i don’t know quite yet wat to think of this fight, but i do know that theres going to be a lot of ground work, i think nogeira has a little better stand up, but i think mir has a little better takedowns. im not real sure whos going to win, iwant mir to win, but i think nogeira by either tko, or desition.

There is a rumor going around that Anderson Silva is going to fight Chuck Liddell at UFC 92. If the UFC can manage to get that fight on this card, it will be the most awesome MMA event of all time.
The Spider wants to fight again as soon as possible because of his lackluster performance in his last fight. And Liddell is anxious to redeem himself after getting KTFO by Evans. So this fight should be the most amazing fight ever. I pray to God this fight happens.

I think the best fighter in the light heavy weight right now is liota Machida. The only thing that keeps him from title shot is from what i’ve read from the previous comments is lack of exitement. The thing about Machida is, he is a very intelligent fighter. Unlike any other fighters he makes sures he wins every fight, he doesn’t let his emotion affect his fight. Given the chance, he will take advantage of every oppurtunity he gets to beat up his opponent just like what he did to Bonnar. The guy was bleeding contrary to what most people think of Machida that he doesn’t have any striking skill. He even knocked Tito Ortiz but the guy was still able to recover. The guy actually has a good striking skill. He can kick and punch. Actually if you observe his stance, its the same with Lidell. Just like Lidell he has a very good take down defense.
That is just how I see the guy..
Dude. Evans hasnt lost yet and hes one of those fighters that just wins. That doesnt mean I think he will but it should be a great fight. In my opion he should be ranked the number 1 contender.
why are so many people saying evans is number one contender cos hes undefeated, everyones undefeated till they lose one and every great fighter loses, thats what makes mma so great, in boxing you just have to make sure you dont get knocked out and hit the other guy once more than he hits you, well done youve just gone your entire carreer undefeated, tons of boxers have done it but in mma there are a million different ways to fuck someone up and at the top level it only takes one minor mistake and you are fucked, having said that evans is number one contender cos he beat another top ten ranked fighter for the right to contend for the belt non of the others have done it not in the past few months anyway which makes evens the only viable contender.

Silva has a chin of iron, and to be KO’d COMPLETELY in the very first round is not a very likely scenario. The normal Las Vegas money hustlers stuck their paws into the mix, and made a killing. Silva is a beast, and would not be KO’d by someone who lost (even technically) to Griffin (or Griffen, I really don’t care). Silva obviously didn’t have his game face on, and barely moved during the fight. Jackson over the last couple years has not suddenly rised above Silva’s level like a friggin’ Rocky movie. He fell to make a couple bucks, and it was a huge upset. Not very rare for Las Vegas. If you don’t think UFC fights are fixed, then you need to wake up and smell the coffee. First, there shouldn’t have been a Jackson/Silva III, there is no reasoning for this ‘rematch’. You’ve got a PRIDE hero, and I guess a UFC hero, WOW what a shocker!! I told my wife before the match even started that this was probably fixed, and will be decided in the 1st round. Frank/Antoinio - REAL (no heavy favorite). Griffen/Evans - REAL (it’s a champ bout). Sorry, I don’t swallow it.
And just for the record - Mir/Nog = REAL (no REAL heavy favorite) Griffen/Evans = REAL (it’s kinda hard to fix a fight that is obviously going one way only). AGAIN, Silva/Jackson III should have NEVER happened. It was just an opporitunity for some fat cats to make some easy dough. Silva is not a flake, he is a MMA genius, but I don’t think his sense of honor overshadows his sense of prosperity. Think what you will, but if you’ve watched any Don King fight, sometimes WWE bouts are more realistic than boxing or MMA.
I agree with FKRHD, something strange is going on in UFC. Nog is a veteran of MMA so he would know if he was ready for a fight or not so why in the hell would he go out there and just stand there like a punching bag. It only makes sense if you say that the fight was fixed.
And why would Silva stand and box with Rampage instead of clinching with him? Wanderlei Silva hasn’t thrown one fucking knee since he entered the UFC.
I would love to see Lidell vs. Anderson Silva: If Chuck could keep knees out of his face, Silva would LOOZ.- I think we need to see a UFC vs. WEC night! I believe Faber could take any featherweight that the UFC has to offer.
