Well actually, even all the current UFC champions took turns fighting Fyodor[or Feee-dor or whatever you wanna call it], the Russian would only treat it as some sorta’ grand prix ad would obliterate everyone.
First, LW champ BJ Penn would be mince meat. Then GSP, who will somehow use his explosiveness[hence, the nom de guerre "Rush"]to push the action. But in GSP’s haste, he’s taken down by Fedor and GNP’d into submission.
Next would be the Spider, who poses much of a challenge and chooses to engage in a strikefest w/the Russian. Fedor would eat some punches, but would also dish some back. Hence, a KO[though it's almost impossible to knock the Spider out just 'coz of his freakery!!]. And of course we all know what happens to Forrest and Minotauro[though by that time, I'm sure Fedor would be extremely gassed up].
I may sound like hyping the guy, but hey…this dude’s the real deal for me..period.
Fedor is the fastest HW I have ever seen…he throws punches like Chuck threw at Tito (in their first fight when Tito was against the cage) except Fedor throws them that fast all the time, and I think he hits harder. The dude is freakin bad.
I told u all that the fight would start with Fedor throwing that wicked left hand Hook (lead hand)…That move of his is just NASTY!!!
I also stated numerous times on this site last week that when they were both in the ring and the match was about to start, Fedor would be calm, cold and cool as ice, business as usual. On the other hand Tim Would be a little scared, have some doubts running through his head

Not specificaly. Just that Dana has called Kimbo out for being a fraud, and that Dana has given Fedor props for being a great fighter. My point is if Kimbo had beaten Sylvia Dana would have to be embarrased, but Sylvia being beaten by arguably the best in the world, that’s another story.
Not only that, he is probably kicking himself for letting AA go. He is MORE than back to his old self. He is evolving into a very well rounded fighter. His wrestling is even getting pretty good and he is using his high kicks and knees.

Man I’ve heard similiar talk before, Randy has a habit of surprising the hell out of people. The fight with Fedor will be Competitive, i got faith in Randy.
I am a big Couture fan, but after seeing what he can still do, Fedor will hurt Randy. If Liddell KO’d Couture twice a couple or 3 years back, Fedor will be able to do it or unleash some brutal g n’p….or if he doesnt want to hurt the old man, he will just quickly slap on a sub.

Don’t forget Sylvia has only won 1 fight in his last 4 and that was a decision against a broken handed opponent and the only guy he caused any damage to was Nog. Sylvia is WASHED UP. Randy already said his career is ending after he fights Fedor, win or lose.
I am a fan of both these guys but I was oonvinced Fedor would beat Randy before the Sylvia fight and now even more so, and it would not matter weather or not it was in the ring or a cage. Take a look back at some of their fights, I really do not think it would make any difference.

Just watched the fedor fight. Yeah, he looks awesome. However, I am not sure you can tell much from that fight. Fedor hit him down the middle much like Randy did and then took it from there. If anything, Randy exposed Tim’s openings and Tim is not the same fighter he was when he was on the juice… Randy must have a game plan. The more I think about this fight the more it interests me. In the end, Fedor is too young, strong and experienced to be “out foxed” by Randy.

I am not a Sylvia fan, but the guy beat Arlovski twice and was completely owning Nog before he got taken down. If he had any balls in that fight and did not try and do enough just to win, he could have taken it. That is just another one of his problems eg the boring Jeff Monson fight. Tim may well not be the same fighter, but name one other fighter that you think would be able to finish him like that. I can’t.
I could care less about this fight. Fedor maybe the best hw but he lacks the warriors spirit. he only fought Tim to please his fans, not because he wanted to challenge himself and if he ever did fight Randy, Randy would get destroyed because Fedor is a better striker and a better grappler. Randy couldn’t neutralize him.
On a different note, UFC is trying to pull from the EliteXC card this Saturday showing the Penn/Sherk PPV free on Spike. Dana won’t rest until there is no MMA, just UFC.

With Affliction planning to put out their next card in November, unless there is clarification on Couture’s situation by the end of this month (not October), I don’t think it would be very smart for the Affliction brand to count on Couture being ready to fight in November. I mean what if the October date gets pushed back or otherwise held up in court? Now you have to reschedule a main event. I think the best idea is to schedule an Arlovski/Fedor matchup for November and hope that Couture will be ready to fight by February.

IMO, it would be a mistake if Affliction started featuring Fedor on every card they put out, from a pure marketing point of view. After their first event ever, they’ve got to show the fans there’s a lot more to them; otherwise, they risk being seen as a one-Kimbo-pony.
I’d say, come up with some other super-fight for a main event in November, then strike back after that with Fedor Vs. AA, or whoever else they and the fans think deserves the shot.

My rant on Affliction Banned-
First, I must say that having MegaDeath perform was a bad idea! They dont need to waste money on a band to capture ppv buy’s..Not everyone likes the same music, but anyone tuned in likes to watch fights, so why not just add another fight instead of paying a band come…and it is not just because I think MegaDeath sucks…I dont care if they had Wu-Tang!!
I also did not like the commentating job either..
Mauro should have never been shafted for Gleizer..Glez sucked..
And Big John did not do half as good as I thought he would..hopefully he was just a little nervous and does better second time around..
Or maybe for the next card they could have Bas, Mauro and Trigg commentate and Big John ref?..That would be sweet.

I must say I really enjoyed the night..I started watching before the ppv, on the fight network(8pm)..
I was very disapointed that Aleks was not fighting, but Vitor definitely made up for the loss of a great fight..The Goodrich/buentello fight was not bad, but Vitors debut at MW was very entertaining..Not so much the first round, but Vitor broke out of his shell in the 2nd, and showed the fans how he can handle fighting at MW…Also cool to see Vitor training with Randy..IMO-Randy is the person that changed Vitor from the killer he used to be..After Randy and him fought 3 times he has never looked like the Belfort that KO’d Wand in under 1 minute..
……PPV…-
little Nog/Dewees- This fight opened up the PPV with a great fight!!What can you say about Nog’s boxing??The guy is a stud!That left hook is a brick!!
Any “casual fan” that does not know about the Nog brothers boxing?..well now you know!..Minataro possesses the same skill(if not better)..
Babalu/Whitehead- I was really looking forward to Babalu’s return and I felt very disapointed with his performance(GSP style)..
This fight was not that entertaining and a very close fight as well..Babalu better get in check because a guy like little NOg woulg bring more problems then what Whitehead did, and IMO that boring fight could have gone either-way..
Lindland/Fabio- Again, another boring fight(imo), but this time it was expected..I have been watching MMa for way to long, to expect to be entertained with a Lindland fight..
Mind you, the first round was fairly decent..
Barnett/Rizzo- Now the night starts to heat back up..The first round was not that great, but more of a feeling out process..Rizzo looks a little old, but I know he could throw a KO punch at any moment so this fight still had me on the edge..
Then the 2nd had me even more on the edge because Barnett was choosing to stand with “the Rock”…I am glad to see Barnett continue his winning ways, but I thought he would win via submission..Kudo’s on the KO!!Great finish!
Arlovski/Rothwell- And the greatness continued into this fight as we as fans got to see the return of the “Pittbull”!!!
I am so glad AA has got back to his old-self..Hopefully he will stay this way…IMO- He could have been a little more agressive in the 1st round, but he definitely made up for it in the 2nd..How about that upper-cut under Bens arm practically from behind him??Great stuff!
Fedor/Timmy- Well Fedor has offically moved back into #1 HW in the world(if he ever left?)…All I can really say is WOW!! Fedor has soo much power..He did exactly what Randy did, by hurting Tim right off the bat..But this time Fedor was able to finish Timmy with a RNC-something Randy was unsucsessful in doing for the entire last 4 1/2minutes of the 1st round..
I am sooo glad Fedor came out un-scaved..Tim was not able to even hit him!!
Fedors management confirmed that Fedor will definitely be on the next Affliction card(rumored for Nov)…If Randy cant get this fight, I hope they give it to Barnett..Or even Arlovski..
But I hope that the next Affliction is headlined by Randy/Fedor with a co-main event with Barnett/Arlovski..
I am glad I purchased this card and hope alot of MMa fans did just so..It still worked out for the UFC because they aired the UFN back to back, and I got to watch the UFN right after the Affliction card..So they still got ratings out of the replay from the people they knew were “die hard” MMa fans that would order the Affliction card no matter what.(like me)
It was a great weekend for MMa fans!! I cant believe I watched MMa from 8pm to 3am, for I watched both events back to back..Wow.

The way that courts and lawyers work I doubt that Couture will become free of the UFC anytime soon. Some people believe that Fedor is locked into two more fights, but I don’t know if anyone knows the actual details of the situation for sure. (Remember the M-1 situation?) I think it is now highly probable that Lorenzo Fertiita oversteps Dana and signs Fedor. This would allow the UFC to make a splash internationally (which is Lorenzo’s goal), bring Randy back, and undercut possible competition. The extra money and miscellaneous considerations that the Fertitta’s would have to put out would be worth it IMHO. I also believe that Lorenzo will be slowly eclipsing Dana. It is possible that Dana is now “in over his head”.
Fedor’s management has already confirmed-several times- that Fedor will be fighting in Japan on a New Years eve event..
There is NO WAY Dana or Lorenzo will let him fight on New Years for another promotion..And there is also NO WAY Fedor will not agree to, not fight on new years..It is tradition for Fedor to compete on the last day of the year..
And his management also confirmed that Fedor will “definitely” fight on Afflictions next card(rumored Nov)..
IMHO- If Dana can sucsessfully land Fedor in the UFC?.It will not be this year..
Also IMHO-I believe aswell that zuffa will cock-block the Fedor/Randy fight that should be held on the next Affliction card..But Fedor vs. Barnett or AA is nothing to sneeze at aswell, so there should be no problem putting together a better main event then Timmy/Fedor..

Money talks – if the situation is lucrative for Randy – he will fight in the UFC. As far as the UFC/Couture lawsuits are concerned they are multifaceted. For instance, I believe that one of the suits involves alleged collusion on the part of Randy and others. That is a very serious issue legally speaking. The UFC is in the driver’s seat wrt to the lawsuits. Time is unfortunately not on Randy’s side.
I agree with Lorenzo eclipsing Dana. That is a perfect way to describe it. Dana’s brash talk and attitude bring publicity, but now is the time to go more mainstream. I think Dana is starting to diminish the UFC brand and Lorenzo will slowly take the reigns. The UFC has done well despite having a foul-mouthed southie in everyone’s face. Imagine it’s success had it been run all this time by a silver-tongued business man. Not that Lorenzo is that guy, but I bet he has a pocket full of them or can buy one at any time.

Fedor vs Randy is a tough fight to call for many reasons. First and for most we can confidently predict that this fight will take place inside a ring and not in the UFC or any other promotion. Affliction has a lock on Fedor now that he has beaten former UFC Chump Big Tim to win the WAMMA belt. Now Couture lacks experience in the ring where that environment is Fedor’s bread and butter, Couture will not be able to implement dirty boxing efficiently or use the ropes as leverage to work for take downs like in the cage. I predict a stand up war for the first few rounds Fedor’s striking is looking very strong, this will get frustrating because Randy lacks the punching power to put him away so he will start changing levels attacking his core, implementing his wrestling. Even if he takes Fedor down I don’t see Couture matching Fedor’s ground skills, they are just on two totally different levels. I see Fedor winning this fight.
The thing i love most about Fedor is that he refused to be bought and owned by Dana. This guy is pure class and has a ton of respect for other fighters. Class and Respect are 2 things Dana White does not posess unforunately. Calling him a farce and a “crazy russian” has screwed the UFC from having the best HW on the planet in the UFC.
That makes no sense. He was precisely trying to be bought by the UFC. He (and his manager) wanted more than Dana was willing to give. Business, pure and simple, don’t go getting all teary eyed about it.
I remember readng that Fedor said the UFC were offring the most money, but it was not about the money. Dana and the UFC just like squeeze fighters balls to tight, they need to get permission to breath.
He didn’t like what was being offered plus he didn’t want to be exclusive to the UFC only. How can you fight the best if you can only fight for one promotion. Affliction proved that the UFC may have the most fighters under contract but definitely not the best ones under contract.
I think Fedor has a chance to leave behind a Babe Ruth or Sugar Ray Robinson legacy (i.e. be arguably still the greatest ever decades from now), if he beats Barnett, AA, and Randy.
i doubt that randy v fedor would happen anytime soon…….
if it does, then my 40 dollars is well spend on just that fight alone

Okay, again all props to Fedor and so on and so on. However, everybody that was trashing Sylvia before the fight, is now claming that Fedor is superman for beating a guy that they were claiming had no chance. This is true for every fight. If you’re going to claim that the opponent has “no chance” or is “all washed up” then you can’t make the claim hat your guy is now a god for beating him. It does’nt add up. I for one, thought Sylvia would at least make a fight out of it, and gave him a shot in the dark. That makes Fedor’s win even more impressive to me. If you thought Sylvia had no chance going in to it, then there’s really no big deal. Geez…am I making any sense?
Makes total sense. It’s called nuthugging. Huggers will diss their fave fighters’ opponent before the fight, then if their fighter wins, they will say how good the beaten opponent was.
It doesn’t take genius to see that Sylvia had no chance. If you have ever watched a Timmy fight vs. a Fedor fight you’d know Timmy might get a few shots in but Fedor is on another level. Anderson Silva is the same way. Who out there at MW can come close to beating him? No one. Thats why the Franklin, Lutter, Marquardt, Henderson, Leben and Irvin fights were decided before the entrance music was played. Silva is on a whole other level with the outcome pretty much assured barring a flying heel hook or something.

The UFC will drag out the Randy Couture thing until he is 50ish. I bet we never see him fight again. If he would have just defended, fought out his contract, and then left the UFC, we would be seing Fedor v. Randy in early 2009.
tim sylvia had his day, now its over. i dont see how people even gave him a chance to begin with. all the hype for that fight was for nothing in my opinion. we all knew what was going to happen. i do believe it would be a much different outcome if it was randy on the other side of the ring. randy wouldnt be so excited for this fight if he wasnt confident. i cant say that he’ll win, i just think it’ll be a different fight. when this mess w/ the UFC and randy blows over, maybe we’ll see it. i expect it to be in the UFC. Dana is a business man. he knows how much money he’d make getting that fight on his show. love him or hate him, he’s a smart dude.
by the way. Anderson Silva IS the BEST fighter, pound for pound.

NOPE!! in my opinion, a HEALTHY Shogun Rua is the best p4p fighter AFTER fedor. Everyone keeps forgeting about him. Also, a mentally stable and healthy Pauhlo Fihlo i still think would put a hurting on Anderson Silva and would probably go to a decision. That is the fight that needs to happen.

The only real challenge left for Fedor is Anderson Silva. Mark my words if both these guys keep winning it’s gonna happen. Unless of course that total jackass Dana White gets in the way.

Guys you must be joking about anderson fighting fedor? Anderson is great, but untill he steps it up, and fights the good guys in the 205 class, rampage, wanderlei, bj, gsp, etc…… you can’t even put him in the same league as fedor. NO way no how. Fedor fights guys 100lbs more than him. How can you possibly say Anderson is p for p the best fighter? Makes no sense at all.
In case you haven’t followed fedor. Fedor has went around the globe and faced the divisions best fighters out there. Why do you think he is now in the US??????? To take on our fighters. And to be undisputed. There is a method to this “crazy russian”
