John, Cote and Almeida are apparently well rounded enough to not get submitted or KTFO by EXPERTS opposite to their strengths. It no surprise that Cote is a great striker and he DIDN'T get subbed by (as YOU put it) one of the sickset submissionist ever, so how can he not be well rounded. Believe me, Cote is well rounded enough to pose a threat to ANYONE in the MW division. When has a striker-grappler match been super exiting? It was a chess match, take it for what it was. You just seem sore because you lost money on these fights. You can't win them all.

JOHN. my pc crashed yesterday at about the time thes comments were being made, and i am now at the mercy of the public library system (yeesh you should see some of the wierdos in here) anyway sat nights event wasnt up to snuff to cards in the past, but it wasnt the worst id ever seen (ufc ireland was, franklin/okami) at least there was a title on the line and good match-ups before the fights unfolded. it certantly didnt piss me off though. maybee affliction will make it up for you.

Forrest won all but the first round. He was winning that one until Rampage knocked him down. Even after that, Griffin held his own for the remainder of the round.

Rampage is one of my favorite fighters, and I wanted him to win. I agree with the "you got to beat the champ..to be the champ" but you also have to fight like a champ to win. Rampage had a "crap" gameplan, the reason why people think he should of won is that it felt like at anytime he could of knocked out Forrest and that's what we wanted to see...but he couldn't. With Forrest it felt like he was just working his gameplan to get to a decision...and he did.

My perdiction for 205lb is...Machida will be the champion within 12 months if he get's a shot.
Two reasons:
1.Too smart/illusive to get caught with a shot on the button from any current striker out there.
2.He's the best at picking apart and finding weaknesses in his opponent.

I really don't know what the fuss is about the scoring.

I had
1st rd. Rampage 10-9
2nd rd. Forrest 10-8
3rd rd. Forrest 10-9
4th rd. Rampage 10-9
5th rd. Forrest 10-9

Forrest wins 48-46

I will watch the fight again, but that was my initial thought as well as everyone that was watching the fight with me. We all agreed on who won each round.

Bitter fans not wanting to see Forrest a TUF winner take the belt!

Im probably goin to get a bit of stick here but here it goes....

First off i think Forrest won the fight, you have to equal Rampage's knock down with Forrest's triangle!! Other than this Forrest pretty much produced the higher quality fighting throughout the fight, the only times rampage looked decent was when they were throwing haymakers?!!

Secondly I havent been overly impressed with Rampage, he looked very poor against a fairly weak opponent in Marvin Eastman, he then caught chuck with a nice punch but a 1 in a 100 punch, which im sure wouldnt happen again! Then he fought a very boring and lack luster fight with hendo, so he hasnt exactly set the ufc alight before facing forrest!!

If you then compare this to his fights in Pride which for the most part in the big fights he got dominated, with most of his wins coming to lesser opponents other than Liddell, then he has a lot prove!! I dont fancy his chances if he sticks with the same training camp, hes young enough in the mma game to be expanding his skill base to improve, look at the likes of GSP who have totally constructed their skill base!! I think Rampage has to do this to be succesful.....there again i might not know a thing!!!LOL
