dana white ufc 87 video

Props: FOX9.com

Dana talks a lot in this video about competition and global expansion. In fact, UFC 87 is only about the last minute of the segment. Still worth checking out.

Mania, since tomorrow is a holiday, are you planning of having the UFC Fight Predictions and Analysis piece up today, or will it not be up until tomorrow?

Also, who is going toe to toe with Jesse this time around? because I am down for a second go around for an upcoming event!!!

Kevin: If the fighter that will appear on the next season of TUF that is being compared to Anderson Silva, is already an accomplished fighter…..It will probably be Paul “Semtex” Daley!

I have been describing him as a young Anderson Silva fopr a while now, and I have a feeling that it will be him! He will be a great addition to the UFC because besides his exciting style, he will be a big draw to the UK fans and should help the UFC in all its UK shows!

I really hope that I am right about this one!

In my opinion, Paul Daley is well beyond TUF status. If the UFC can just sign fighters such as Brodie Farber, James Giboo, Brad Blackburn, Dale Hartt, Shannon Gugerty and Reese Andy to UFC contracts without making them go through the TUF experience, there is NO WAY that they can put Daley on TUF.

However, I like your guess at comparing someone to Andrerson Silva. How is Daley’s BJJ? He doesn’t really need to use it much in the fights of his that I have sen.

Normally I would agree but either BW or Kevin posted that the fighter Dana white is comparing anderson Silva to is an accomplished fighter that we will know.

I too feel he is bigger than TUF, but its not out of the question. After all, Mac Danzig was on the show and he clearly didnt belong. Mac may have even been more accomplished then Semtex, so its nopt impossible.

AS for his ju jitsu, I would guess he needs to improve on it, but like you said, I havent really seen a fight where he needed it so who knows. If I were going into a fight against him, I would guess that the jits would be his weakness, but I am not sure.

I barely know who 2 of those fighters r u just mention, u have some great MMA knowledge. The TUF series may not necessarily be a step down for many fighters coming into the UFC. It’s an awesome way to give them ‘exposure’ and an opportunity to win a nice fat contract they might otherwise wouldn’t have. It’s good for Fighters, Spike, UFC and MMA fans to see more experienced fighters on TUF, we get bored of watching Newbies”, I hope White realizes we want to see better fighters in TUF, but, you’re prob right, we won’t get those quality guys u just mention…

U r right, that the exposure the show gives, makes it a great oppourtunity even for some what established guys.

As for Semtex, he is out of the question, I dont know what I was thinking because he could never fight at lightweight!

I would think they have a choice to go on tuf or just sighn a contract. The only difference is that if you just sighn I doubt your going to start with the six figures like you would if you won the show.

Agreed, Semtex is on a tear and would be an awsome addition.

A young anderson silva might be pushing it but i can see where your coming from.

young Anderson Silva minus the ju jitsu skills is a better comparison

at least he didn’t say the exact 4 things word for word like he has in every interview for the last 2 months. Someone may have finally broken the loop button on Dana White, lets hope.

PS: I’m not a Dana Hater. In fact quite the contrary, I think Dana has done a great job, he’s just been really annoying in every interview as of late.

I agree….The audio was terrible. The background cheese music almost drowns out what Dana is saying.

Looks like there is a table of fighters in the back in the interview room. Sherk is one of them. Wonder if they are still looking to add to this card. I would not mind a few more exciting fights added. What was a loaded card had three fights (Edgar’s, Karo’s, Guida/Danzig) moved to other events than rumored.

hey ricco rodriguez is going to fight in pro boxing… against a former basketball player… seems to be no money in mma for him to do that. dana should just shut up and solve the low pay for his fighters
