Definitely, there’s a deep talent of fighters at 145lb weight class in Japan, but those guys will probably not come to the UFC. Gilbert Melendez with StrikeForce use to be a 145 lbr before moving up to the more popular 155 lb weight class. There’s also a few small 155 lbr’s in the UFC that could make the cut to 145 lbs. IMO, Frankie Edgar, Manny Gamburyan and possible a few others (tyson Griffin?). Those UFC guys are relatively new and doing well in the UFC, if they rack a few losses and seem to be stagnate they’ll probably make the move to WEC 145 lbs.. Din Thomas said he was… but haven’t heard from him lately.
