thats my point, that means Nick Diaz has to be making at least that, and is able to fight 6-8 times a year, it’s a good living outside the UFC…just the minor leagues!
Kev, in a recent Nick Diaz interview where he was talking a little bit about pay, he did not mention getting paid $50K per fight. Actually, no where near.
no, he said he’s broke, but that means nothing. He’s obviously not too good with money, he said he can’t afford a suit like KJ had on, but a decent suit isn’t even that much money. We can’t knock his ignorance, or I’d be making fun of just about everyone here in the bay area and cali in general! We will soon see what he’s making, but my guess is it’s decent. Add non exclusive contracts, he can fight every 6 weeks if he wants. He trains and works at caesar gracie’s gym…he’s not hurting, thats for sure. I here good weed is expensive these days, I wouldn’t know!
Nick also pays for his training partners medical insurance, cat scanns and all that stuff. Nick is really generous with his training partners!

Yeah, I was surprised. Getting paid like that, along with non exclusive contracts that allow fighters to fight like once a ,month, and I can see why guys are choosing to leave the UFC.
That’s why the top tier fighters stay with the UFC and the up and comers want to fight for other promotions. Guys like Rampage and Chuck don’t hardly have to fight anymore. They have sponsors coming out of their ears. Add that to the merchandise deals and so on, they are ranks of the millionare. But I’d say only the top 10% of fighters are in that category.
Not too many guys for EliteXC or Dream are going to be making more then 100k per fight. Maybe a handful of fighters for each promotion. A guy like Gomi or Fedor will pull bank wherever they fight.
I’ve known this about Franklin for awhile. This girl who is a stripper, and a friend of mine, went to one of Franklin’s autograph signings. While she was in line, he asked for her telephone number, and starting calling her…a bunch. I didn’t believe it at first until I saw a picture of them together and heard some of the voice messages he left.
