I’m trying to fight Georges (expletive) St. (expletive) Pierre. – Elite XC lightweight contender Nick Diaz goes off in a recent interview with Carlos Arias over at the Orange County Register. He sounds off on several topics, including the melee that took place in the cage after last Saturday’s “Return of the King” show, his lifestyle, fighting in a ring vs. cage, the UFC, his critics and more. It’s a must read for any and all MMA fans. Definitely check it out in its entirety when you have a minute or two … its pretty long. Don’t be scared, homey.

Yeah, I am from Chicago.

Shonie Carter and I chilled over a plate of Chicago style deep dish pizza and compared our MMA top ten lists.

Then I went clubbing w/ Arlovski and we discussed why people don’t like Tim Sylvia.

I think the Diaz brothers are very talented. No doubt. Nick needs to grow up. Keeping it real don’t mean you gotta be stupid. Just ask Rampage.

You know what I mean, homie?

“I’m trying to fight Georges (expletive) St. (expletive) Pierre” LOL. Gotta love Nick Diaz! The sport of MMA is in need of colorful characters, and Nick just so happens to be one of them.

Even with the couple of lackluster performances that Nick had, his fights are ALWAYS exciting. The kid has undeniable skills.

Quick Question to the Diaz fans out there: Nick and Nate are about 1 year and 8 months apart in age, so we’ll call it 2 years for the sake of argument. At the age of 22, which is the last we saw Nate fight (Nate turned 23 in April, but hasn’t fought since his birthday), is he futher along in his mma skills than older brother Nick was at 22? In other words, at the age of 22, who is the better fighter? To help out with the time frame, Nick was 22 right around the time of his last few fights in the UFC.

I would say that at the age of 22, Nick had definitely faced the tougher competition.

People don’t appreciate what Nick Diaz was doing in the UFC at such a young age. You really don’t see 19 year olds in the UFC anymore, especially ones that make noise in their division. For example, TUF is where the UFC looks for thier up and coming young talent. You must be 21 to be on the show. Nick was 2 years younger and tearing up the UFC. THAT is an accomplishment, whether you are a fan of Nick or not.

LOLOL Nick was talking about being the youngest American fighter to ever fight in the UFC. Him, Vitor and Arlovski. His opponents always had at least 2 years on him…

I know what he means.. :)

I have been a Diaz fan for a long time now. I have been watching him fight since he was 18.

VM, I totally agree, Nick was fighting very tough fights at a young age…To compair Nick and Nate?, I would definitely say Nick was furture along in MMa, then Nate is now…But I still think it would be close..Nate is coming along alot better then I thought he would…

Nate is definitely already a threat in the ufc LW division, and I only see good things to come from him..
IMO- He will probably loose a fight before he gets into title contention, but he will only bounce back stronger, smarter and more focused…Nate Diaz will be around the LW division for a long time.trust me!

Also’ Nate has his brothers mistakes to learn from aswell..And Cesar Gracie will help him become an elite LW fighter….

The Diaz brothers kick (expletive)(expletive)

WAR DIAZ!!

On a side note in compared to other notable Gracie Blk Belts in the U.S. ( Renzo, Rickson, Royce, etc.. ) that Cesar Gracie has given out the fewest Blk belts here in the States.

Comment by Stagger-Lee

I agree that he would get destroyed at WW if he was fighting GSP, but he wants to wait until after GSP mives up.

I think Huerta could make a decent impact at WW agansts opponants like.

Jon Fitch
Deigo Sanchez
Ryo Chonnen
Josh Kos
Chris Lytle
Karo Parisayn
Matt Serra
Mick Swick
Marcus Davis

Im not saying he would beat all of these guy’s, but he could? if he improves….
And some of these fighters are topWW in the UFC…

I dont see it being a bad move for Roger to move to WW, but for now?, I definetly think he should stay at LW and see what happens.

Both GSP and Silva would decide where the would go at anytime and punish Diaz, period!Agree or not, I don’t even think Diaz has the right to even challenge those 2, he hasn’t beaten anyone really close to that level.

Wear their feelings on their sleeve…..got to like that in a fighter. But my fav. is when post fight Nick Diaz talks non sense for 5 minutes, and when they try to take the mic. from him he hold on to it to say more non sense… makes me laugh every time. But I do hope UFC takes him back, Nick and Nate would make any UFC events that would feature both of them instant classics…you know something would happen if they are on the same card.

Ridiculous. Nick sounds more and more like a crying teenage girl. Some people like him because he shows his emotions and they want that in a fighter? No, you want that in a movie you take your girlfriend to. What you want in a fighter is a “nice guy” (GSP, Silva) who uses politeness and a smile to cover the fact they are cold blooded killers. I can see it now, Gary Shaw buying Diaz’s chronic for him, giving him a volcano rip, and pushing him towards the mics. Diaz got schooled in the UFC so he went to Elite where they literally created a weight class for his lazy cant-make-weight ass. At least he doesn’t attend the Mike Tyson’s speech therapy academy like his down syndrome brother. They give both fighters and stoners a bad name. Shame on you Nick *blow hit in nasty Neanderthal Diaz face*

I don’t know what this crying is about the cage taking all the technical skill out of fighting, thats why theres a term out there called “cage tactics” of course it’s not the same as fighting in a ring, I think restarts are dumb, unless there’s absolutley nothing going on. If some guy is holding another guy up against the cage and slamming elbows into his face and working that dirty boxing for 3-5 rounds opening up cuts then so be it.

I like both Diaz fighters - I hold 2 college degrees, own 2 cars, 1 motorcycle, have a house, speak 2 languages, train in Muay Thai, and have rolled with BJJ brown belt friends.

People who like the Diaz boys like them because above all the tough talk, banter, rhetoric, and hype - they are gifted fighters. So they didn’t grow up speaking French and eating bree cheese like GSP. So what?

If you can look beyond the surface, you can see these guys are skilled fighters with BJJ training from Cesar Gracie. There’s a Gracie academy here in Seattle where a few of my friends train. Anyone who trains with the Gracies automatically gets my respect.
