a couple of years ago, i wouldve agreed with you heartily, but now i only ’somewhat’ agree with you–diegos personality is definitely something that keeps him from being a fan favorite. as you imply, his skills are certainly among the best, but his personality really wears on people. but in the last couple of years, hes matured i think. i still think hes a bit, i dunno, someone in here used the word ‘weird’–i think its appropriate. having said all that, i love watching his fights…he definitely brings it. i dont think he should fight at LW…well, hed be more suited at LW, but as long as he keeps winning at WW, then let him stay where hes at. people forget that he competed at MW during the first TUF and he did extremely well in that environment (obviously). dropping down to WW was definitely a good move…dropping down to LW would be even better. but, like i said, as long as he keeps winning at WW, he should stay.

At welterweight, I would like to see Bj Penn vs. Diego. I dont expect Penn to loose, but for some reason I have always wanted to see that fight!

Sorry, but Diego is one of my favorite fighters. He goes all out all the time (except when he fought Kos with a near-fatal infection). He can box, wrestle, GnP, get submissions. Yes, he’s a little off center, but in the cage he’s a stud. Diego is going to demolish Luigi inside of one round.

I didn’t say anything about his mma skills, he’s obviously a stud in the cage. I just don’t like his personality at all.

He fights his ass off and I enjoy his fights, but I think it is the pre-fight antics that bug me. They way he basically meditates before the fight drives me nuts. Just get in there and get down… And the puca shells, a little gay bro.

LOL…well, i suppose you can be wearing a mini-skirt and have pink nail polish on your toenails while youre wailing on some guy in the ring; no one would dare call you ‘gay’ to your face. then when you walk out of the ring with one of the hottest chicks alive draped on your arm, you can wear your puca shells with a big f-you smirk on your lips! youve earned it.

Diego is also a personal fav of mine. But I do agree that he takes himself too seriously. A good example of this is when he mean mugged Fitch before the match. No need for that. Just bring it, bro.

I think if he drops to LW he would be an absolute monster.

I hope he does not underestimate Luigi.

Yeah he definetly takes himself way too serious but the skills are there and he always bring it except the staph infection incident, but no one can blame him for that. Diego is one of the few fighters that actually deserved a title shot, never got it and then fell off. I would like to see Diego get back on track because he should have been awarded a title shot when Hughes had the belt.

Diego “The Weirdo Warrior” Sanchez…..anyone? or Diego “the meditating maniac” Sanchez lol

As for the fight, I like Luigi, he has that 1 shot Ko ability, but Diego has an Iron Jaw that will keep him in the fight long enough to take Luigi down (which wont be long at all) and either sub him or pound him out G n P style!

I have to go with Diego on this one. He seems to have a new focus since his two losses in the cage. He looked a lot stronger when he fought the last guy. I have never heard of him but, still he bulked up. He looked small against Fitch and sick against Kos. He will give it a godd run this time I believe.

I wanna see Luigi take this one, nothing against Diego he is good fighter and I would pick him against majority of WW out there but I am a fan of Luigi and I wanna see him do good.

Who know anything is possible.
