Id give that one to Riddle 10-9 he looks much stronger and is doing alot more damage from the clinch.
Round two: The crowd seems oddly quiet like the place isnt very packed. Riddle uses his strength and gets a take down. Riddle now standing over Rivera trying to avoid Riveras guard. Rivera to his feet. Clinched against the fence. Riddle keeping busy with his well place knees. Rivera lands two vicious uppercuts and follows it with a nice knee. Rivera charges in and Riddle clinches right away. Riddle with some foot stomps. Good knee from Rivera. The pace has slowed to a crawl, the crowd sounds like its in a bar. You can hear a pin drop. Rivera with another knee, now a spattering of boo’s from the small crowd. Rivera lands a big overhand left but Riddle stifles Rivera’s take down and lands in full mount. But wait Riddle goes for a ill advised arm bar and he’s now on his back! Poor choice by Riddle. Riddle now pulls guard. Riddle now shoots in a triangle. Its sunk deep!!! Riddle now takes him down and gets a full mount!!! Rivera holding on for dear life. Riddle now raining some blows. Thats the bell. A great performance by Matt Riddle he dominated from wire to wire and he looked impressive doing it. This kid has some talent to work with and if he keeps improving like he showed he did tonight he could be a force to be reckon with.
Final result: Matt Riddle defeats Dante Rivera via Unanimous Decision

Good card, saw the Hazelett-Burkman fite looks really interesting. He showed allot against Koscheck and hopefully can continue to grow as a fighter.
McLovin, Dustin Hazlet is my upset special. He will catch Burkman in a submission off his back!
I’ve been watching mma since around 1994. I’ll admit I didn’t follow TUF 1, but have watched 2-7. I have been really impressed with 2-6, but have been disappointed this season! I know nothing about the fighters except mac brown and cb are very over rated and hyped. I picked amir to win, and cb proved he’s strictly a wrestler and needs to evolve more. I think he has lots of potential!
The reason I gave my history on watching mma and tuf, is because of how many guys have come out of that first season. Yes I have gone back and watched it, and Diego Sanchez has been a favorite of mine for 2 or 3 years now. He looked pretty good tonight, and is continuously improving.
Evan Tanner is done, period…and is it me or did Grove look really big. I’d hate to accuse anyone of anything, but HGH isn’t tested for, and even his facial features were different (which happens when on HGH). Just throwing it out there.
Overall I enjoyed the fights, was disappointed I didn’t see Jeremy Horn, but oh well. With the UFC hyoing the 19th show more in one night than affliction has in months, they solidified the failure of the affliction show. It’s really too bad, but it’s business.
CB did tap, I don’t want to read other wise!
Indeed!!Evan Tanner IMO is through!!
Riddle beats Riveara. Unanimous decision
Spencer over Stephens Unanimous
Amir beats once again CB arm bar 1st round
grove kills tanner unanimous.
Gotta give it to Tanner for not only surviving but putting in work!!
Diego Luigi fight of the year thus far. GREAT FIGHT!!!@!
GREAT NIGHT OF FIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is where we’ll see if Evan Tanner is really a washed up old drunk or not. As for the rest, meh.
Lol I think knowing about Evan Tanner is meh at best as well. Even if he wasn’t washed up, what future does he have in his division?
Tanner was a good mid-carder who got exposed by the division’s elite (Franklin). He could be built back up again to challenge Silva and get exposed again. Hopefully they can keep feeding him cans to get a few wins so Silva can pound him out. By then he should have earned enough to afford a new boat.
This is a very dangerous fight for Kendall. Everyone knows he has a suspect chin and this could be his 3rd loss in a row….which is never good!
Yep, it’s do or die for him. He didn’t just lose his last 2 fights ,he got KOed.
It was obvious from the promo for this weeks episode that someone gets kicked off for wrecking a limo. We saw the window getting punched out. My money is on Taylor, he seems like the kind of idiot who would pull a stunt like that.
Since the final show is scheduled for 1 and a half hours, then I’d have to guess there will be another fight, not just the Amir-CB fight, because I doubt just 1 fight would take up a 1 and a half hour show. So after the finalist gets the boot for breaking the limo window, there will be another fight to determine who will take his place in the finale.
I’m still guessing its Jesse who gets in trouble for beating the life out of Jeremy May for calling him a Jew again. I expect CB to win against Amir in the best fight of the season. Then Amir has to fight Tim for a spot in the finale against CB.
Final Prediction: I’m sticking with what I’ve said since the first two episodes, no need to change now. CB vs Tim.
errors on page. disregard last comment…
Is this weeks episode really an hour and a half?
worst main card I can remember..
To be honest in any org this would be per-pay view. Not a bad card at all!!!
Yeah concidering the last TUF finale had all fighters from the show that season, and then the main event of course. This is a big improvement.
How the hell does Lister v. Horn not make the televised card?? That blows.
I agree, that is awful.
indeed!!…My bet is on Gumby…Though Dean Lister could still outclass Horn on the ground…
Dean lister is the worst mixed martial artist EVER! The boogy man! lol give me a break. He should have stuck to grappling. Lacks TOUGHNESS!
hope u didnt have to much money on that
they gotta keep room to show us all the fights with the terrible guys from this season that we don’t wanna see fight ever again anyway
Blame Lister for that.
Not many fighters from the show on this card? I count..4 total? Isn’t there usually 3-4 fights featuring the TUF cast, or is my memory slowly fading away?
FYI – i hope Hazelett destroys Burkman
as do I. But it will be tough.
Damn whats up with all this Burkman hatred.. He’s intense, he always puts on a show, I hope he kicks some ass.
Because Burkman’s last fights have been boring and he is not that good of an MMA fighter. Plus, how can you hate McLovin? He is not Jon Fitch, so stop asking
So somebody is getting kicked off for whatever reason……. limo, cctv footage, yada yada yada!!
Am i the only one who thinks in general this season has been a huge disappointment? I think the talent level of the majority of fighters has been very poor overall. Either half decent stand up with no ground game or vice versa.
TUF finales are always weaker than main cards & this one is no different.
Come on ufc lets see you do some grand prixs & let the lesser talent compete. It will give them something to fight for other than just dreaming about winning a belt they know they’ll never win.
I actually enjoyed this season, and you never know, forrest is fighting for the belt, and serra had it,they were not the greatest in TUF but they are pretty good now.
I only seen one fight and it was Jesse vs Tim.
Tim had his back and voluntarily jumped off, WTF!!!
Huge skill shortage, sequals have a bad history with a few exceptions.
I thought this season had some really good fights and great knockouts!!! Maybe I’m wrong…
Main event:
Evan Tanner (32-7) vs. Kendall Grove (8-5) KENDALL BY TKO RND 2. EVAN LOST HIS KILLER INSTINCT, HE IS ALL ABOUT JUST SURVIVING NOWADAYS.
Main card (televised):
185 lbs.: TUF 7 Finalist #1 vs. TUF 7 Finalist #2 FINALIST #1 LOL
170 lbs.: Diego Sanchez (18-2) vs. Luigi Fioravanti (12-3)DIEGO RND 1 SUB. DIEGO IS OUT TO DISCREDIT HIS LOSSES
170 lbs.: Josh Burkman (9-5) vs. Dustin Hazelett (10-4)JOSH KO RND 2. I CAN JOSH BEING TOO EXPLOSIVE FOR DUSTIN.
155 lbs.: Spencer Fisher (20-4) vs. Jeremy Stephens (13-2)I THINK THIS WILL BE EASIER WIN FOR FISHER THAN MOST PEOPLE THINK. EXPERIENCE WINS
Under card (May not be broadcast):
185 lbs.: Marvin Eastman (15-7-1) vs. Drew McFedries (6-3)DREW RND 1 BY SHATTERED GLASS JAW
185 lbs.: Dean Lister (10-5) vs. Jeremy Horn (79-17-5)HORN’S EXPERIENCE WILL PREVAIL
185 lbs.: Dante Rivera vs. Matthew Riddle WHO AND WHO??
185 lbs.: Rob Yundt (6-1) vs. Rob Kimmons (20-3)WHO CARES!!
——————————————————-
I think the twist will be something that no-one has thought of before. UFC wouldn’t give the game away that easy by letting people see the judge’s faces as a clue.
I like all those picks except for I’m going with Tanner and Eastman. I don’t like Rivera so I hope Matt Riddle wins that one, tho I think whichever one wins that fight, it will be a boring decision either way.
Riddle is a lot bigger than Rivera, and I think will ground and pound him out.
Horn vs Lister should be a good fight. Horn looked pretty good against Nate the cheater prior to almost geting his head removed form his body…. I think I am going to pick horn in this one.
I thought matt brown was suppose to fight matt arroyo. Given the fact that brown is a lunatic it makes you wonder. Unless I missed something.
He is. Forgot to add it. Thanks.
I bet Jesse Taylor gets kicked off. He is the only one that ever gets drunk enough to do stupid stuff like pissing his pants on national tv.
Pissin in his pants on national tv, LOL. wonder if dana told him to do that?? u never know
Dana told him to the first time. The second time was just for fun.
Man I wanna see Eastman vs Mcfedries, that should be a brawl
I’m hoping Diego comes out and gets an impressive win. A lot of people hate on the guy, but I’m a fan.
No Jeremy May?
Jeremy Jitsu could blow a cock. I give Blake Bowman more credit than Jeremy May. I hope CB loses, and they give CB Jeremy May, and I STRONGLY DISLIKE CB.
They should have Jeremy May vs Blake Bowman as the next EliteXC main event.
Winner fights Gabe Ruedigger for 12 cheeseburgers.
lol
fisher vs stephens will be stand up war until someone gets knocked out. stephens has never been knocked out in his career. hermes franca knocked out fisher and i know stephens hits harder than franca. stephens by knock out in 2nd round, fight of the night
I wont lie, I don’t think this fight should be shown on the main card.
I’d much rather see Brown/Arroyo. I know its going to be a slug fest, but I just dont care about Spencer Fisher, he is not that good of a MMA fighter, he is a hell of a stand up artist, but to me, he possesses the skills of Phil Baroni.
I am taking Luigi in a huge upset. Luigi has good wrestling, and has decent stand up, good submission defense and decent submissions, watch UFC 68 Luigi vs. Jon Fitch.. Luigi gave Fitch a lot of problems… heck of a match. I think Luigi’s time is now, and I think he will take this oppourtunity and run with it. I watched Sanchez at 82 and he still did not look THAT good, like how he did before the Kos fight.
Looks good, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Lister/Horn on the main card. Not a huge lister fan, but I always love watching Horn fight.
Does anyone know how to watch the Weigh-Ins online live?
need to make some bets!
Evan Tanner
CB
Diego Sanchez
Jeremy Stephens
Matt Riddle
Dustin Hazelett
Marvin Eastman
Matt Arroyo
Dean Lister
Tim Credeur
Rob Yundt
Not the best batting average there.
Evan Tanner by flying dutchman
As my predictions say above, I’ve got Kendall.
I do hope I’m wrong
Tanner by flying dutchman… that’s awesome!
Horn is done. Grove is done. Take out the trash!!
Ok, its time for some TRUE TALK!! Jermey Horn has been a legendary mma fighter with over 100 fights, but he is officially DONE!! put a fork in him. Time to retire and become a full time coach. His submissions were always his strong suit and he just got submitted by the worst mme fighter, Dean lister. Horn was never any good on his feet, but if he is going to start getting beaten on the ground then its time to call it a quits. He lost 2 in a row due to submissions. ITS OVER!!!
Well here’s to Amir.
I read constantly about GSP, Silva and Liddel nuthuggers, and I laugh, but my GF says I have a man crush on Amir so I guess the last laugh is on me.
WAR AMIR!
U think the Mullet is sexy? lol
Big win for Matt Brown’s UFC welterweight debut against a slick matt aroyo.
Matt Brown was tuf at middleweight, he may become a serious threat in the distant future of the welterweight division;. Not saying he is one NOw, but he is a prospect for sure.
Lol, more the humility in victory, dude made me laugh every post fight interview.
First time I have genuinely wanted a specific person to win. Every other season I have been indifferent.
Of course the contrast to smug CB probably emphasizes the good qualities of Amir. Either way, the guy is a great ambassador of the sport, I could see CB on SNL, I can see CB starting fights at a bar.
I can see CB hangin’ by the pool in his pre-fight promo tossing some sweet lines like ‘hey babe, do you like dudes in white sunglasses?’ and ‘you know what they say about guys with huge upper lips.’
I, for one, would greatly appreciate blow by blow coverage of the prelims too. That other, formerly good, website does and you should too! J, 4 comments up, Amir , is cool as hell so dont feel bad about diggin him. He could take a shit on a plate and I would sit down and watch it. ( jus kiddin. look for that line in Trailer Park of Terror this Halloween) Look for Dustin to have a good night…traingle or arm bar.
any news on why yarborugh vs tim was canceled?
anyone know where to get the gods of war fights?
My bet is on Forest on the 5th
anyone know wy Tim`s fight was canceled?
After Kendall Grove gets throttled tonight…he’s not goin back to Hawaii but some cast away on the Next Survivor. Stick a fork in him….HE’S DONE!!!!!
apparently the Credeur fight was cancelled cuz the athletic commission found traces of prescription drugs in Credeur’s system
They reckon Tim failed pre fight drug test (silly silly Boy!)
diegos ko was sick
yes that was a great fight but goldberg solidified his rank as the biggest tool box in the sport…..”What a Fight”……………
Wasnt there something just after the Sanchez/Luigi fight involving Florian.
The very break just after the fight ended I could swear the screen said something to the likes of Sanchez vs Florian announcement????
Anyone else see that or was I sniffing glue???
yeah i saw that, wtf? i thought i imagined it. guess not. weird eh.
It said “SANCHEZ vs FIORAVANTI; COMING UP…OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT”..
There was no mention at all of Kenny Florian.. Ya’ll prolly got mixed up with Fioravanti and Florian.. I tivo’d the fight and went back to clear this up.
BTW: SPencer Fisher DID NOT deserve to win that fight. He fckn lost.
wtf fight were you watching?? fisher controlled damn near the whole fight. even stevens knew the decision before it was read…..
Controlled my a$$..That fight reminded me of the Fitch vs. Diego fight.. How can a fighter win a decision by being on defense most of the time?? Diego repeatedly went for submissons the entire fight. Did you not hear the crowd when Bruce Buffer announced Fisher as the winner?? Complete silence.. And PLEASE post under one name, I can’t stand peeps who change their SN’s after every post.
I just rewatched the fight and I was wrong.. Fisher did win the fight.. I just for some reason cannot stand him. Sorry for my misjudgement.
one sn?? i’ve had the same sn on here since i regestered.
anyone know why the cale and tim fight was canceled?
go to ufc.com
Tim had traces of some kind of ADD/ADHD medication in his system(pre fight test. It is called addoral or somethign close to it. Go check out ufc.com
i’ve taken that stuff before when i’ve put in alot of overtime at work. it gives you alot of energy to keep going. nothing in my opinion that would give him an edge in a fight. not much more potent than taking a few hydroxycuts IMO.
tested positive for adderall. thats not a joke.
Which one tested positive?
tim
WOOT!!
Rollin’ Rollin’ rollin’ on the Amir bandwagon!!
I actually picked one right
ohh controversy! haha.
Never gonna teh end of it from cry baby CB. Amir is a pimp.
CB did tap once then changed his mind cuz Herb relieved PRESSURE VERY quickly. he would of got his arm broke. Amir WAS NOT gonna let go of that arm. He would of held on till it broke!!!!.
Friggin AWESOME. Golden boy LOST TWICE to a ROOKIE. ZERO PROFESSIONAL FIGHTS!!!!!
I cant wait to hear what CB says in interview. He definitely tapped. You DONT even make a gesture EVEN CLOSE to what he did!!!!.
He cant be upset. He tapped!!!!!! He had 2 shots at him!!!!
AMIR – PIMP!!!
He totally Tapped!
Yeah what a cheat. He was gonna try to say he never quit if THERE WERENT GOOD CAMERA WORK!!!!!!! Once he seen it, I guess he decided otherwise. Then again we havent heard from him yet.
so amir will join the few people like bj & chuck whose first fight was in the ufc, good for amir but i don’t know how well he’ll be able to hang with some top talent.
add matt riddle to that list. sadollah vs riddle next?
I highly doubt they would put the winner of the show up against a loser from it anytime soon.
He’s very young, get him some time in some good camps and he’ll soak up that knowledge like a sponge. He’s got the drive and focus to have a nice career in MMA.
Anyone notice that the PRESENTATION was very quick, especailly compared to all the past 6 seasons. That is kinda messed up.
What is Dana and the UFC pissed that they kicked out Jesse to bring back their superman, just to have him lose AGAIN!!! Other than interview with Rogan, Amir got robbed of his time in the light!!
ALSO…..I noticed someone else seen it. Directly after end of Sanchez fight. It said something about a Sanchez vs Florian announcement. That would kick ass. I thnk Diego is eventually going down to LW. He almost decisioned one of the slowest men on earth tonight. Also, he is very small compared to GSP or ALves
I agree, That presention was shitty, amir deserves it, he worked hard and kicked CBs ass twice, so if dana is pissed he can kiss my ass
Wouldn’t it be kind of premature for some kind of Diego/Kenny fight considering Florian’s scheduled to fight Huerta for a shot against BJ?
Amir is a hero. So happy he won that.
Yeah..He seems genuinely nice..
tanners got to get grove to the ground, he can’t strike with him he’s to slow and groves reach is to much of a problem, i see taner getting ko’ed or grove by decision if tanner can hang on.
I don’t care if Grove beats Anderson Silva (never gonna happen). He’s a punk bi#$h. Enough said.
30 – 26 – Grove
30 – 26 – Grove
29 – 28 – Tanner
WTF? I mean WTF? AND WTF???
How can you have 1 out of 3 judges saying Tanner won it, while the other 2 SCORED IT CORRECTLY , at such a difference of points???
How can that be???????
Why did they just give Tanner the WIN??? They did it for Bisping. And it was a very similiar fight
This was much more dominant of win than hammels win over Bisbing and to think how bad Hammels got robber this was just rediculous. Luckily only 1 of the 3 judges was blind and deaf at the same time vs 2 of the 3 in the Hammels Bisbing fight.
That was weird. I thought Tanner won the last round, but that was it. 29-28 or 29-27 would have been right. I guess the one judge values a firm clinch over lots of punches and knees that cause cuts.
What 3rd round did u watch?
PW, you need to rewatch that fight. Tanner got dominated throughout.
That just should be arrested for giving Tanner the decision it was a clear 30-26 just like the other two judges scored it. Honestly how do you justify 29-28 Tanner? He almost got stopped twice in the second round and clearly lost the 3rd. 1st was close so giving that to Tanner wouldn’t have been terrible but no way you could say Tanner won the 2nd or 3rd.
who the hell gave that fight to tanner? btw fightfan, they didn’t give tanner the win. one retarded judge gave him the win, but the other two didn’t as you said yourself. so clearly grove won anyway
Meant to say why DIDNT they just give Tanner the win like they did for Bisping
You gotta wonder how judges see these fights so differently? If you don’t suspect foul play.
What happened in the Creduer Fight?
http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=12945
Crueder could not fight cause they found Adderall in his system
this card sucked at least what they showed
you guys need to watch the fight without the volume on. joe rogan was absolutely kissing the asses of diego and kendall tonight as he has done before. with the tanner grove fight i had the score EXACTLY what the first judge had. 29-28 tanner. tanner won the 1st round easily, grove won the 2nd, tanner edged out the 3rd round. grove never scored a takedown and was taken down 6 or 7 times in the fight, and despite rogans bs, he never knocked down tanner, he was wobbled but not close to out. it is absolutely pathetic, i dont care if you are a fan of a fighter, watch it without bias damnit, period.
I think you’re right about Joe on this one. He was way to telling in his favor for Sanchez.
john, I have a new nickname to add to the list, but i don’t know if it will stick. This kid’s hair is a different color EVERY time I see him, so for me it’s Matthew “Rainbow Brite” Riddle. lol. War Amir! Way to go to the hometown boy. Nice fights overall. Sanchez looked good, but Luigi could honestly cut weight and fight 155, quite the love handles he’s got. How did that one judge give it to Tanner? He must have stepped out for a beer and taken a guess when marking his card. McFedries! Wow. he knocked Eastman around like a ragdoll. Enjoyed it enough to watch the whole show a second time.
“Rainbow Bright” I love it!
Second to Rainbow Bright!
I like it. Hope it sticks.
Im glad Amir won.. C.B. didn’t deserve to be there anyway.. Too bad Jesse f’d up.
Amir Sadollah – i never seen a fighter like this guy. so unsuspecting but quick finisher. PROPS! put CB on suicide watch.
Spencer Fisher – no surpise here. PLEASE give him someone with experience maybe a Guida type!
Dustin Hazlett – lol. WOW! he really proved me wrong.
Diego Sanchez – SICK FINISH! kick + knee combo! WTF! TITLE SHOT after his next fight(kos?)? He’s so wellrounded now with kicks, uppercuts and other combinations.
side note: Luigi’s fight style makes me sick. he made no effort to attack! he was busy worrying about countering, sprawling & looking good. (poser)
Kendall Grove – dayyamm!! that was a WAR!! Tanner can take a beating without going down! we was going NUTS!! he really looked prepared and focused. looks like he gotta get used to fighting wit his back against the cage. highlight reel galore: KNEES, ELBOWS, GETTING BACK UP. niiiiice Kendal, everything we knew he could do and lots of it.
officating was good but which judge scored tanner the win? hey, thats not even funny. whoever that was should be fired.
I thought Luigi looked really doughy. He had a lot of jiggle for a WW. And Sanchez is one win from a title shot.
some mma fans really make me sick. just like any other sport. they cheer for who wins and who joe rogan is making sound good on that night. its really pathetic. watch fights without bias and without volume, i had tanner winning the fight 29-28. i dont care how much u like grove, he lost the 1st and the 3rd. also another fight where rogan makes diego sound better than he is. he also lost the first round, and was on his way to losing the 3rd when he caught him. stuff can look good and score absolutely nothing on a scorecard, look up the ways a fight is supposed to be scored before you start chanting for who you think looks better.
I think you were watching the wrong fights bro. The ones we were talking about was the Ultimate Fighter finale that was on Spike TV last night, because if you thought Tanner won that fight you clearly weren’t watching the same fights I was watching.
OK, I scored the fight for Grove, but he is right about the Biased commentary that tries to construe our vision of whats actually going on. Take the commentatin on the Wandy vs. Liddell fight, it was a disgrace. YOU watch that fight with the volume on Mute and its completely different than watchin it will listening to rogan. Listening to Roganm u would have thought that wanderlei was getting crushed!
kendall grove that dhalsim wannabe, cheating with his long limb and flying knees!
dhalsim wannabe HAHAHAHA!!
LMAO. The street fighter stretch armstrong type dude right.
It was great to see Diego back on his game with fire in his eyes! I still can’t rank him as one of my favorites anymore but I always like to see an explosive fighter. Glad to be able to at least say that about Diego again.
I think it’s funny as hell that Amir beat CB twice and CB cries foul, trying to say he didn’t tap. That’s crap! I really expected more from CB (as most people did) and was surprised that he gassed so quick in his fights. Amir has a better chin than I gave him credit for initially.
Grizzly Tanner had a surprising third round. He was outclassed during the first two but he definitely hurt Grove a couple of times in the third. Still, Grove deserved a unanimous decision.

Well I had a solid night of Betting:
I won $200 On Diego
$200 Hazlett (my upset special…see top pf this thread)
100 on Spencer
50 mcFedries
But I lost $100 on CB. tHahk god I didnt touch the Tanner/grove fight (i probably would have betted on Tanner)
not a bad night overall. diego looked amazing!

i also picked hazelett. he impressed me with his sub over jonathan goulet; since then, im a fan. in my books, hazelett is a top 10 welterweight
i really cant believe a judge gave tanner the win. that was absolutely ridiculous.
no discredit to amir but him winning really shows the lack of talent in the tuf house, why did they even put people with no pro fights in tuf or people with 2-3 records, so that the favourites in this case cb can have easier wins? there must be 16 middleweights more deserving to be fighting on tuf? hell i could find them, so why couldn’t the ufc? amir has earned his way to the ufc, but what the hell was he doing in tuf in the first place? this has been one of the worst season ever, lackluster fights and fighters.
Well the point of TUF is to develop young up and coming fighters. If they just took experienced fighters that wouldn’t make too much sense.
Diego is an Animal! He definetely showed striking I had never seen from him before. I’m glad he incorporated that to his game, otherwise he would be like Matt Hughes, Just working for a takedown, and if he doesn’t get it he loses the fight. I was really looking forward to see his new improved jiu jit su skills but Luigi did a fantastic job at avoiding going to the ground. I wonder who they’re going to have Diego fight next, He doesn’t even know, what do you guys think a good fight would be for him?
Don: Diego vs. Koschek Duh!!!
They will save that 3rd fight for a #1 contender match or a title shot.
Definately won’t be Kos. Maybe Hughes, he’s on his way down. Swick dropped to that weight didn’t he?
Don’t think Hughes has any interest in fighting Diego. I may be wrong but the only two fights I can see Matt taking before he retires are Matt Serra and Dennis Hallman. The second of which probably won’t happen.
yup. i second that 1. run back diego/koscheck & . no excuses. best of 3 is enough to find out, but id want to see it as a 5 rounder so theres little chance it goes to controversal decision. n run back diego/diaz or how about diego/huerta in mexico?! HAHAHA!
How did one judge see 29-28 Tanner? That fight was no where near a split decision.
I thought Diego was stopped early. Luigi was still throwing his arms around and trying to cover up. Sure Diego was throwing a ton of punches, but I think it looked more dangerous than it was personally. He probably deserved the win, but I’d have liked to have seen it play out a little further. Diego did look pretty good. Amir is good. I like how funny he is. CB still has a lot of potential. He needs to learn to defend the armbar and be a little more focused on himself. He’s been “the man” for a little too long I think.
I wanna see Alves vs Kos.
Diego vs Hazlette
Swick vs Karo
It would be a bit of a mix. Stay away from Diego vs Karo and Kos we say that before… But Karo vs Diego would be good.
I would have scored The fight with Grove and Tanner 29-28 for Grove.
Amir should stay away from the newbies from TUF, and move up a bit. Heck hes in a bad division but I would hate to see him lose to a TUF guy after doing well. I am afraid he would destroy Riddle. Hes already proved he is the best off the show except for Jesse “Pee Pants” Taylor. And I think it very well could go Amirs way if they do Tangle.
If they do decide to bring back JT (sans Coco the monkey), that’s a fight they could hype a great deal. Kind of a Bisping/ Hammill thing.
CB is taking a LOT of heat for his post fight reaction to his tap. In a way I can understand, and I can’t believe I’m going to (mildly) defend him. First off, I was rooting for Amir hardcore (in the gym, by myself, yelling at the tv, lol). But I have the feeling his tap was something he did instinctually, w/o thinking. And the moment he did it, he was surprised himself. Kind of a “oh my God! What did I just do!” type of thing. He’s still a kid, on the big stage for the very first time, give him time and he’ll mature.
CheffDaddy: Very intelligent post! I too saw it your way. No excuses! The undefeated fighter of the show won the Finale, which is good. The saga between Amir vs. CB is over..no need for a rubbermatch. I do however believe that CB could have gotten oput of that armbar.
Props to Amir! When the show started, I was one of the few people that picked him as a dark horse. He is the “Mental Giant” Sadollah!
Question: out of this crop of fighters that made it to the UFC from the TUF show that just past, which fighters will stay at middleweight? which will drop down in weight?
Matt brown already dropped down to welterweight, who’s next?
john, I gotta say that Amir should definitely drop to WW. He was what, maybe 3 inches shorter than CB, and looked much smaller in muscle mass. A drop in weight class would suit him well. As for who will stay at middleweight! My guess is CB and JT (if they bring him back). Those guys, even though experienced at cutting weight, are all muscle. Doesn’t look like they could drop down (w/o risking health) on a regular basis.
I agree!
