I hope Hughes loses, we need fresh blood in the title hunt.

Why, they’ll go to the top and lose anyway. Hughes is the title shot, just without the title. You beat a future hall of famer, the most dominate known WW, and you get to post you name along with 4 other guys who have their name posted on the win column against Hughes. I don’t think Alves has that shot but what is the prize for taking on GSP? A royal beat down and reality check?

I am hoping Hughes wins. I know many here hate on him but you gotta respect the guy for being one of the best welter weights ever. I also hope Werdum smashes Vera, just can’t stand Vera. I also think that Bisping gets another win. I would like to see him move up in the division and get owned by Henderson or Franklin.

I can’t stand Vera either. He is a good fighter, but not good enough to ever hold the hw & lhw belts. I know a lot of people think that if he moved down to lhw, he would be able to dominate. I have to disagree.

Thats why he doesn’t move down to LHW, the guys are much faster there. Its his edge Vera will put up a good fight but he’ll get beat and join the whole group of people who can’t set up a decent win record.

1st card I’m not going to buy in 3 years…but will try to find it at a bar.

The Ireland card featuring Franklin/Okami and Forrest/Hector Ramirez was waaaay more lacking than this one. I actually think that they did a good job with this card considering the circumstances. I am VERY interested in all of the main card matchups.

I know, don’t remind me. The live part was rubbish. The undercard provided some sick fights. I presume Guida Griffin was broadcast, that was an excellent fight.

bedlam is another word for chaos or mayhem.on another note just read an interview alves gave to setanta sports.com who are kindly showing ufc 85 live for FREE to us lucky uk viewers ok its 9.99 a month but we get all the top world boxing in with that which is another story.anyway i digress alves has come out and said that he believes karo is gonna be a harder fight than hughes and that karo is a more well rounded fighter if he thinks that then he is in for a long night.it could be banter but alves appears a little too arrogant for my liking and ill take a hughes decision.

He is fighting Hughes and you said Alves is a little too arrogant…LOL. That was a joke right?

Thanks for definig Bedlam.

Let me get this straight. U dont like Alves because he is too cocky, but you like Hughes? I dont get it! Should Alves be talking about how he is going to get crushed Saturday? What would you like him to say? He has an obligation to not only fight, but to build up the fight…it is a main event after all!

Yeah but that kind of disrespect I don’t really like either. Alves is a new kid on the block and I thought he was going into this fight with a level head. If he goes into this fight thinking Karo was harder than Hughes he is really going to get hurt. I will agree that Karo is more of a rounded fighter but Karo also is a “gatekeeper”. Hughes is cocky but you have to admit he is respectful after the fight and he has earned his respect. I’m not mad at Alves for saying it because he is just trying to build up a fight but like I said if he goes into this fight thinking that Karo was tougher, he is making a huge mistake or a Hughes mistake if you will :)
