UFC 85 Web site

Props: 85.UFC.com

Not too much in the way of fighter interviews or analysis from UFC President Dana White and ringside announcer, Joe Rogan, which we have come to expect with these microsites. Perhaps that can be attributed to all the changes to the card. Possibly the site will be updated prior to the show at the O2 Arena in London, Englang, on June 7. Therefore, check it often.

Reading the results just isn’t the same as watching it. Probably not the most exciting all around, but I am interested in seeing how Hughes/Alves and Swick/Davis goes down, so I’ll still go to the local sports bar to watch it.

This event is pretty amazing. No main event but that is it. 84 was through the roof, but wasnt the most exciting to watch whereas 85 will be for sure.

Most of us Brits are Hughes h8rs. His gameplan is all too familiar and he is unable to mix it up. Royce was a legend in his time, but was’nt able to evolve as MMA did. Hughesus has very similar traits. If he aint been sussed out already, he knows his time aint far off

My boy Paul Taylor should definately be aired. Man has lightening fast hands and really puts on a show.

do you know if any fighters are going to be at the arena before the event starts? for autographs and whatnot?

go the day before to the weigh ins. Best chance to get autographs and stuff are after the weigh ins and the hotels they stay at.

You know the same thing was said about the UFC 80 card (Penn vs. Stevenson) that it was a weak card, and it was not worth buying. But UFC 80 had some of the most exciting fights that all of them (minus Sam Stout/Per Eklund) were ended in the 1st or 2nd round via submission or knock out, and this card is exactly like UFC 80.

Davis vs. Swick is going to be more than likely a fast paced slug fest.

Dooms Day vs. Bisping will be a fast pace slug fest.

Thatles Leites vs. Nate Marquardt is more than likely going to be a Wrestler vs. Jitsu guy, and might be a boring match to the normal viewer, but to us hardcores it will be a beauty.

Vera vs. Werdum has all the makings of a bust match. Werdum is a boring fighter, and Vera is just going to go in there swinging and Werdum might hold down Vera and go for attempts, but I see this being a boring fight.

Hughes/Alves.. Im very excited about this match.

But Im not paying 45 for it.

This will be a great PPV. Most people look at the poster and make a decision. These are the same people saying UFC is real MMA and Elite XC isn’t, yet they won’t buy this card. I don’t get it. Does anyone remember the UFC in Ireland last year? That had some great fights but no one wanted to buy it. Don’t make the mistake and miss out on this one.
