PRIDE veteran Alistair “Demolition Man” Overeem (26-11) will return to Japan to face Team Aegis competitor Tae Hyun Lee (1-1) at the DREAM 4 event on June 15th at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan according to the official DREAM Web site.

Overeem last competed at Strikeforce in 2007 where he pummeled UFC veteran Paul “The Headhunter” Buentello En route to a second round TKO stoppage. Overeem had mixed results in his PRIDE days (7-7) but has the kind of power-striking that can end a fight at any time.

Lee, on the other hand, is relatively new to the sport with just two professional bouts. His last match was a TKO victory over the 13-23 Yoshihisa Yamamoto at K-1 Olympia Hero’s but prior to that he was stopped in the first round at PRIDE: Final Conflict Absolute by Ricardo “The Mutant” Morais.

Also added to the card is the light heavyweight bout of Alavutdin Gadzhiyev (7-1) vs. Alexandre “Cacareco” Ferreira (16-5). Both fighters are coming off first round victories and it will be interesting to see if the heavy-handed Russian can deal with Cacareco’s “Luta Livre” – the Brazilian has 15 of his 16 wins come by way of submission.

DREAM 4 is headlined by a special grappling match between former UFC and PRIDE competitor Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic (23-6-2), who will be testing his grappling chops against submission guru Ralek Gracie (1-0).

Here is current fight card for DREAM 4, which will air live in the United States on HDNet:

Middleweight GP 2nd Round Fights:
Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Melvin Manhoef
Yoon Dong Sik vs. Gegard Mousasi
Ronaldo Jacare vs. Jason Miller
Kin Taiei vs. Zelg Galesic

Lightweight GP 2nd Round Fight:
Shinya Aoki vs. Katsuhiko Nagata

Featherweight Fight:
Hideo Tokoro vs. Darren Uyenoyama

Light-Heavyweight Fight:
Alavutdin Gadzhiyev vs. Alexandre “Cacareco” Ferreira

Heavyweight Fight:
Alistair Overeem vs. Tae Hyun Lee

Grappling Match:
Mirko CroCop vs. Ralek Gracie

DREAM 4 will also feature the quarterfinals of the 2008 Middleweight Grand Prix tournament, as well as the showdown between Shinya Aoki and Katsuhiko Nagata to determine the fourth and final man to advance to the lightweight grand prix semifinals.

Have you lost your Damn Mind? Blasphemy!!!!!!
1st off, nothing with Sakuraba’s name on it can EVER be considered garbage because he is a GOD in the sport (1 of Dana white’s favorite fighters) and if you fight somewhere else and Dana doesnt bash you, that means you are freakin amazing.

Jacre vs. Mayhem…..WOW!!! Thanks to everyone who voted for it, I really wanted to see it and I cant thank u guys enough! I am a Mayhem Monkey, but I think Jacre will take a big step up into his transition to mma after he pulls of a win against Mayhem! Hate to se eone of these fighters loose, but Jacre’s ju jitsu is on a level that is rarely seen, and he has been training with Wanderlei so his stand up will be improved. Also, what is often over looked is that Jacre is just a Phenominal athlete and will hold an advantage over Mayhem in that area. Prediction:
Jacre doing the Alligator Crawl, then stopping to do the Florida Gador Bite with his Arms! Whooooo, this is where the WORLD finds out why I have been ranting over Jacre for years now!

Dont sleep on Mousasi vs. yoon Dong Sik! WAR, I am a fan of both fighters. For those not to familiar with Dong, find his fight against Rampage on PRIDE: Unbreakable..He didnt beat Page, but he looked real tough! I have been a fan since that fight

Cro Cop is going to tap in UNDER 2 MINUTES….No way in the world he lasts 5 minutes..I really mean NO WAY IN THE WORLD that can happen!

ATTENTION VITOR LOVERS!!!!

Vitor Belfort Joins Chute Boxe And Will Fight At Affliction

DreamFighters.com has learned, and confirming a dreamfighters.com news release last week, GracieMag.com has confirmed that Vitor Belfort will be fighting at Chute Boxe academy in Brazil, and will fight under the Allfiction name in July.

Quote from Vitor Belfort on this matter:

“This partnership is promising, I always dreamed of training at Chute Boxe getting to know the team. These days in Brazil we have to always seek to help each other out and Chute Boxe received me in impressive fashion, I’m grateful for the way Master Rudimar and the team received me,” stated Belfort.

Personally, I think Vitor is the definition of a Mental Midget, I hate to say it because he suffered through some terrible times in his life but its true! His head is not up to speed with his skills and potential!
However, I know he has TONS of fans on this site, so I thought I should throw that out there.

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Justin McCully planned for UFC 86… why are they wasting GOnzaga on this guy, I have no Idea.

The match up should be:
Gonzaga vs. Kongo!

because he has two losses in a row, they can’t afford for him to lose 3 straight. ufc is short on HW’S.

I dont know why I am even going to bring this up, because I dont want to start the whole Kimbo debate again, but I got the perfect opponent for Kimbo (who will only be matched up against stand up fighters)……CABBAGE BABY!!! “My head is all full of stuff” lol

They could made a killing off this fight if it would have been booked for a Hawain event!

I have made my peace, I now know I will probably never see Kimbo fight a top mma fighter, with that said Cabbage vs. Kimbo will apeal to all the blood thirsty Ameriocan fans just looking for a BANG!

why are no organizations like strikeforce, elite xc, affliction, or even the ufc for that matter tryin to sign allistair overeem??? he’s a very good stand up guy, he had chuck liddell on the ropes a time or two in their pride fight. i don’t know if his older brother is still fighting or not, but if he is, seeing how he tapped randy couture in the first round, i think both overeem’s should be, if not in the ufc, at least in elite xc or strikeforce

Not all garbage…Cant wait to see Jacare tested by Miller. He’s a BJJ phenom. If you dont believe me YouTube it. Yah Mirko grappling is the weirdest of the bunch.

I’m pretty psyched about this card, far more than the previous pair. UFC 84 was good, of course.

I completely agree, I don’t know how anyone can think it would suck!? I did some designing in my time and the typo, composition, colors, its amazing work. Everyone with an eye for this stuff would tell you so.

I guess its not an eye-pleaser for people who consider Sarah-Jessica Parker the most beautiful thing they ever saw.

I can’t wait for Miller-Jacare, the Saku-Manhoef fight and if my homeboy Zelg will prevail and make the semi-finals.

Those three fights alone would make this card worth buying, everything on top of that is icying on the cake for me, thats why I am not terribly disappointed to see Mirko grapple, might be fun to watch even.

I dont understand why an organization doesn’t just sign one weight group up (Two at most).light weights and heaveys.

Then you wouldnt ever have to worry about trying to make match ups. and you could always do up big tournament style events like gp… But with different levels of fighters. Make 3 tiers and you have to get through to be contenders.
