Faber is the WEC’s golden boy, and a dominate champ, but I agree that he’s never experienced competition like Pulver. It’s unwise to rate a fighter on one upset (Lauzon). Look at Pulver’s full career, the guy can beat the best fighters in the world when he’s on his game.

If I were to bet, I’d say Pulver.

Which is why BJ Penn has allowed Faber to train with him. It’ll help BJ destroy Sherk. I really hope lil evil pulls it off though.

I still can’t believe that so many people count Pulver out at 145? I don’t mind that most people think he will lose, but some of these comments don’t make any sense to me…DO YOU KNOW WHO ‘LIL EVIL” IS?

That said, I think Faber training with BJ will better his game. I still see Faber winning, but in a tougher fight than most people think. Faber was also training with Joe Lauzon, so he trained with the last 2 guys who beat Jens.

Jens is not UFC LW champion material anymore, but he’s just one of those guys like Matt Serra that can give anybody a hell of a fight on any given night.

Cub Swanson is not a can either. In fact, Jens was looked at as a “stepping stone” for Cub.

Comments like saying Faber’s only fought cans shows they don’t know much about Faber. Also the lower quality opponents Faber has destroyed, like he should. The higher caliber opponents he’s beaten handily… He’s fought everyone that’s anyone in the WEC 145lb division. He’s waiting for tougher competition, this guy is excited about it.

It’s gonna’ take more than tennis balls to beat Faber. I’m not sure if the past year has been enough for Pulver and his rededication to training in Ju to prepare him for his ground game. If Pulver’s take own defense keeps it standing he’s got a decent chance, he’s always been a good wrestler.

I agree with many on the thread that Faber’s resume doesn’t match his big ego. Pulver has fought wars against the best guys in the world. Faber (for the most part) hasn’t fought anyone great. Even Curran is not of the same caliber as guys like Penn and Gomi. It would be great if Pulver pulls this one out.
