Kimbo’s fight-are you kidding the dude almost lost the fight if Thompson knew how to fight.. For his safety - he needs several years of training before fighting the top tiers…

i don’t think kimbo is a great fighter but hell the man likes to bang what more do you wanna see in a fight? yeah okay some like “technical grappling” woohoo thats so boring yeah he’d get his ass beat by some top guys but at the end of the day would you pay to see a boring win for AA or fedor or randy or a badass loss for kimbo? i’d say the wicked kimbo loss man as much as i hate him i gotta take that side of things,and he brings a good youtube audience for elitexc which they for sure needed,i don’t like the lawler fight either i hate seeing him in anyones 185lb top10 the guy got KO’d by bj penn whos fighting 30lbs lighter, now sorry guys for bringing up old shit.. i’ll be watching this one though and all of you will too love them or hate them it’s free fighting

Kimbo doesn’t fight crime, but he does fight the best in Mixed Martial Arts. Really? Randy, Nog, Sylvia, hell even Brock Lesnat would destroy this BUM. I could care less to ever hear about Kimbo Slice unless he is fighting even a top 20 HW.

All your concerns are legit PW, I think the difference will be the commentating and how well the event is operated. Boxing has had a champion of a thug in Mike Tyson for years and was successful. MMA could be no different, depending on how well the the event is broadcast and how exciting the fights are.

There is a ton of speculation as to who should be on this card, White, UFC etc… but this is the hand that got dealt… so lets see if they FUCK IT UP or NOT!

Let’s not get too serious about this. The ads were funny, and at some point, Kimbo will have to fight someone who isn’t a can. I don’t get mad at ads for NFL Europe or Arena Football (even though their inferior to the NFL) and I don’t mind this.

If you knew nothing of MMA and heard of a fighter being billed as “a street-fighting sensation” what would you think of him? Dana White and UFC promote title fights, contrasting styles, fights to move the winner into title contention. Shaw is promoting this entire event around a street fighter pummeling a can that Shaw stuck in front of him. To me, this is no different than trying to draw new fans to NASCAR with the possibility of a fiery crash.

my only problem is the fact that he’s fought cans. people that everyone knew he would beat so that Shaw wouldn’t ruin his investment. i don’t expect him to fight top 10 guys, i expect him to fight people on the same skill level. have him fight other guys that have less than 5 fights so its competitive.
