This is going to be a helluva fight. Jardine doesn’t get much respect on here, but he’s a tough S.O.B. It’ll be a war between Jardine’s leg kicks and Wandy’s clinch, just too close to predict.

I think the hardcore fans know this wont be as easy of a fight as most people think. Jardine could take this, and it worried me behind a Wandy fan. Jardine’s an upset machine, almost all of his wins were upsets, and it’s not like he got lucky durring them, he did damn good. Which really makes me wonder why people are still saying he’s no good and over rated.

I agree with you, I’m actualy picking Jardine in this one, although I would love to see Wandy win this.

Toms Bombs: I agree this is a tougher fight then many people think, but I have to wager some # on Wanderlei. I am starting to have a good feeling about it. He could have beaten Chuck if he would have jumped on him after dropping Chuck, but he froze…maybe the jitters, maybe he was worrying that his instincts would cause him to unleash an illegal soccer kick….whater.

In this fight Jardine will get knocked down at some point by wandy’s viscious hook, most likely in the 1st round….Silva wont make that mistake again…Instead he will jump all over Jardine and finish the fight!

Or Silva locks Jardine up in a tai Clinch, and once that happens….there is no recovering from a triplle Knee sandwich!

Wanderlei will win this fight!!!!!!

If you re-watch the fight between Chuck and Wandy, you can see that Chuck hit Wandy with a hard right and then slipped backing up. I think that the punch was pat of the reason Wandy could not capitalize.

good point, whoever can impose their will first will have a clear advantage. The fighters are similar in style, but im gonna take Wand’s chin over Jardine’s although hes been tested vs. Chuck and Forrest. Too close to call.

running on sand is bad for your knee joints man…

Looking forward for this one.

i heard its good for ur joints… the sand absorbs alot of the shock that concrete would normally put back on ur joints. concrete wouldn’t absorb anything thats why its not too good for ur joints. also running on an uneven surface helps ur core out alot.

Don’t know about bad for your joints but it is bad for an MMA fighters fitness. The sand slows u down and over a period of time that’ll teach your muscles to contract slower. MMA is all about quich and explosive movements, So He’d be better doing those sprints up a concrete/tarmac hill.

Wanderlei by decision! x

Great fight, hard to call. Should be war! Jardine has nothing to lose really, he has already beaten Chuck and Forrest, not a bad resume! Wandy is a warrior and always shows up to fight, eventhough I think his best days are behind him. Lets hope I’m wrong.

this is going to be a great fight. i agree people don’t give jardine his credit. he beat chuck (i thought chuck won that one though) and he knock out forrest. two things that not many people have done. but wandy is comin to kill someone. it think we’re finally goin to see the old “axe murderer” in that cage. wandy by knock out baby! I CANT WAIT!!!!!

Dude. chuck got fed the last 2 rounds and that was obvious to everyone except Chuck and maybe Dana. That is why when he raised his hands up after the fight the crowd booed him.

There was not a doubt in my mind Liddell lost that fight. I laughed when I saw him raising his hand at the end lol.

agreed… don’t even know how that one was a split decision… even all 3 commentators (including randy) clearly called it for jardine - it was only a split decision cause it was chuck…

After watching Sherk’s training footage i can’t help but look at every other workout and think, thats not that hard!!

Anyway its easy for me to say sitting at this keyboard.

“whats that honey?… yeah i will have that last slice and another beer”.

Did you miss the footage of GSP jumping over the hurdles?

Anyway if Jardine was serious about winning he would train with scuba gear on like the pros. LOL.

Comment by haemophiliac
2008-05-16 11:43:12

yeah but GSP and the hurdles was more a testament to his athletic ability… sherk actually just plain out tortures himself… he’d be a great soldier… even if he got caught they couldn’t do worse to him than he does to himself.

True. Sherk’s training just looked agonizing.

Wandy at MW makes much more sense to me. But regardless I’m a fan and I hope he does well in this fight. Jardine’s kicks are going to be the deciding factor in this fight.

I am looking forward to this fight more than any of the other fights on this card - which is saying a lot considering how stacked it is. Main reason is I feel pretty confident saying that Lyoto & BJ will handle business, but I dont have a clue who I think wins this fight. In the end, I would like to see KJ win because he deserves a title shot already, and I would rather see Wandy fight Silva for a belt than Rampage. Regaurdless…gonna be an awesome fight and an awesome card.

funny thing is if Jardine had good PR people he could’ve gotten a title shot after he beat liddell or even if he just asked for a title shot and opens his mouth more he would’ve gotten a title shot back then but the ppl representing him are shit, he has no personality to market thats why forrest is on the show and getting a title shot after 1 good fight…i love jardine’s game but if he loses this then what? he has to fight 2 more quality hard guys to get a title shot in 2009-2010 maybe, he needs this to stay up there but i’d love to see wandi win as well…gona be a sick brawl just like the liddell-silva one…

In fairness to Forrest Griffin he did beat the NO1 ranked light-heavyweight in the world therefore he deserves a shot!

If Jardine beats wandy he should be next in line imo

I agree Jardine is next in line if he wins. Forrest probably got the shot because Shogun was expected to get the next shot. Jardine in underrated and has a good resume. He will not simply overlook Silva. However, if Silva wins, I think you could push for him to fight Rampage even if Rampage holds the title. The re-match story would be great, and could set up a potential Wanderlei vs. Liddell II for the title.

I like Jardine. He beat Forrest, Chuck and most would agree he beat Bonner. I just can’t see him lasting 3 rounds. If he does, I think he will win it by decision. If he doesn’t, he will most likely wake up and be told the outcome. As we all know anyone in the cage has a chance to win, but there can only be one winner. Silva, 2nd RD TKO.

Silva’s fighting style is definately going to be a lot harder for Jardines than Chucks was, because he is so aggressive and relentless with his attack. This makes things difficult to set where as with Chuck he was able to set up his kicks and punches because he had the time to do it. I have rated Jardine for a while, he is a very skilfull fighter. I think that if he can get past the first round, he can win the fight. I think that Jardine will be the smarter fighter of the two which showed in their fights against Chuck. Jardine does have knockout power as well as powerful accurate kicks and I want to see him win this one even more so because Dana and the UFC definately want him to lose.

And to OJR who made the comment below saying that I was taliking BS about backing Jardine over Chuck, check out my response if you haven’t already, and feel free to reply with an apology when you have finished eating your words.

I bet you back Serra vs. GSP in their first fight, too.

Sorry but I call BS on this one.

Nobody expected Chuck to lose to Jardine…Nobody…
