Hey Mania, picked up the Shonie interview from Fighthype?

wow cant wait for this one should be fight of the night.its a real pickem if swick hasnt sorted his weight cutting issues and comes in ala burkman then goodnight.but i expect the old swick to come in and win by submission.maybe we will see the old swickotine.

Swick is very elusive, but I see Davis hunting him down and finishing by TKO. But what do I know, maybe the exact opposite……..

Im not sure how good Marcus Davis can be - whether he can get to the next level or not (probably not), but what I do know is he is great to watch, always brings it and has a huge heart. This should be a great fight - There will be blood!

This fight has all the makings of not only fite of the nite but possible fite of the year. This is a very good matchup which will answer allot of questions. The winner will most certainly be close to title contention or at the very least be a real contender. I’m gonna have to go with davis in this one. He just looks so good in all his fites. While he hasn’t faced the hardest competition, he has that desire to really excel. Plus how can u got against a fighter trained by Mark Delagrattie these days??? Seems like all his guys are just excelling amazingly. I think swick made a mistake dropping to WW, while he mite be betta suited for that division, he should have considered bulking up as a MW. Dieago sanchez chose to do that at ww instead of dropping a weight class. Swick will hopefully bounce back from his previous lackluster performance but I like davis in this fite but wouldn’t be surprised if it went either way. Gotta give credit to joe silva for putting together this fite. This is one I think everyone will enjoy watching!!!

i do not think swick can handle davis’s intensity that he brings to a fight! i think swick will be outdone just like he was against okami! he does not deal very well with a lot of pressure put on him! he does great when he is the pusher and when he is putting together his crisp 1-2 jabs. but i think that davis is going to not only over power him but out man him as well !

I really think davis is going to dominate this fight. But Swick did take out David Loiseau. Swick has put on poor performances his last 2 fights though

I have no idea who will win this fight, I just hope Davis does.

This fight is very close, Mike Swick has a iron chin too, so I think this fight will probably go 2-3 rounds, and possibly a decision.

Mike Swick, has the height advantage, and possibly a strength advantage over Marcus Davis, and he also has expierence against top notch competiton, now this is not a knock on Marcus what-so-ever but yet expierence really helps against top notch guys.

Both of these fighters are well rounded fighters, both are good in the clinch, both are solid on the ground, and both are incredible on the feet. Mike Swick, has fast hands, and fast devistating head kicks to set that up.

Marcus Davis, has devistating leg kicks, but yet that has not been seen. Marcus is going to have a problem getting around the reach of Swick in this fight, but if he can get inside his range and throw Combinations on the feet Swick is going to be in trouble. Marcus has a solid ground game, and he can finish off an opponent there if needed.

This fight has all the qualities of fight of the night, I think this fight is going to be a complete MMA fight, I really see Swick or Marcus taking down one another, if they feel like the combos are not flowing correctly and they feel odd bouncing around while the other is throwing punches. I can really see that happening.

I think the UFC would like to have Marcus win because he is becoming a huge fan favorite and all of the fans embrace him as a favorite. He is also a huge favorite overseas, in which he normally fights, so he is a big draw here as well as overseas.

But I dunno, Swick had a bad performance last fight, but I think you got to blame the match-up and the styles to the lackluster of the fight. You had striker vs. grappler, and I think Burman made that fight boring.

I think both men come in with phenominal cardio, and slug it for the fences.

Prediction: Mike Swick Split Decision.

I can see Davis getting a little too over agressive and Swick catching him with a leg kick to the head that drops him and swick finishes the fight with Davis on his stomach and swick dropping bombs to his face

I love Swick, but I think he should have stayed at 185. He looked 10 times better there than at WW. Even with his loss to Okami, he still looked good. If he felt he was small or something, he should have bulked up a bit more. I just dont see him being a threat at WW, but would like for him to prove me wrong. Davis takes this.

Davis is starting to sound a little cocky with the one punch KO bit, but I still hope he wins. Hopefully it’s a beast of a fight and he comes out victorious but humble. This is either going to be an all out war or one of those that ends in under a minute.

Swick hasn’t looked good since Joe Riggs! Fans could always count on him for a beatdown. What happened to him? He better start controlling fights again instead of just going with the flow or he’s going to get pounded silly in this 1.

the Crippler proved it can be done.Swick has a good chin but I wouldn’t call it a “iron chin” like MrNC17 . i give a slight advantage to Swick in the strenth department because he just came down from Mwt. but everything else is pretty much even.i have never seen Swick come back from the brink of defeat like Davis did in his fight with Paul Taylor. he got kicked in the face and went down temporarily took a beating until he regained his composure and eventually submitted Taylor.

What is Swick thinking fighting @170? This division is stacked and his teamates Fitch & Kos fight at this weight! After Davis beats him up he should get back into the 185lb divison.

For once I can say that Mike Swick will actually win this fight. Marcus seems to be underestimating Swick’s boxing and power. I am extremely excited to see the outcome of this fight! Swick by KO in the 2nd.

Marcus was a professional boxer for 10 years fighting on ESPN and has never EVER been knocked out. Swick will not knock him out. The only chance Swick has of winning this fight is by a cut.

I’ve got marcus winning by KO within the first 3 minutes. I think swick is gonna come out and try to pressure marcus and will get caught and KO’d by a jab. At least I hope that happens cause I wanna see marcus fighting for the title soon

All I can say is, Davis is a lot better fighter than Burkman. How the hell did Burkman get all this hype anyway? Who has he beat that’s any good? Davis beat Paul Taylor…Have you ever seen someone take as many punches as Taylor in the Paul Kelley fight? He’s a tough bastard. Another underrated fighter, just like Davis. Marcus is earning respect the old fashioned way, by knocking people out, or submitting them.. Sorry for the rant.

As someone who was a big swick fan for a while, I have to say that this fight belongs to Davis; it’s his time. There is no one in the UFC who drastically improves every single time in the Octagon more than Davis. I am excited to see what he brings against swick. After this fight, if Davis wins, he needs to fight a Matt Serra or Karo Parysian level of fighter and then a title shot.
