Although Jardine is a smart guy, I don’t think he can gather points and stay out of trouble for 3 rounds. My pick is Silva wins 2nd rnd TKO.

Man I hope you’re right DJ. My pick would have to be Silva but it could go either way. I hope he uses the clinch in this fight. He didn’t use it all against Chuck, I guess because Chuck is a bigger guy. Who knows?

True. The only time I saw that fight go into a clinch, Chuck split Wandy open with an elbow in the 2nd.

I really hope silva wins this fight. If he loses, where does he go from here? You can only lose so many exciting fights before the UFC cuts you. I don’t think he’s at that point yet, but it’s close. I just hope knocks jardine out cold!!

he can lose a close dec and still move down to mw, and have alot of high profile fight s there ( hendo, franklin, a.silva and bisping) but i also would like to see him score a big ko over jardine, maybee with a big knee to the chin.

I think he’ll smash Jardine, but I hope that he goes to MW anyway. I think he’d be a force. I’d love to see a couple of tune up fights and then a end of the year showdown with the battle of the Silva’s.

I cant wait for this fight!..The whole card for that matter!
Jardine has such a wild style..I wonder how Wanderlei will deal with that, and how he will deal with coming of losing his last 3 fights..
(imo) Wanderlei is going to smash Jardine….I see Wanderlei going at him hard until it’s finished..

I am so fired up for this fight as well. I paid a bunch of money for a whole weekend Vegas (and who knows how much money I will lose when I am there) and this fight is one of the major reasons.

Wanderlei has nothing to lose in this fight. If he loses he can go to 185. I think because of that he will come at Jardine like a bat outta hell. Jardine will be cautious of this so it may get into the second round, but IMO Wanderlei will knock his a#$ out!

no one could ever question wandi’s conditioning or heart. his cardio has saved his ass on several occasions.

Apparently Wanderlei thought his conditioning wasn’t up to par. That’s why he’s taking this step up in cardio and oxygen deprivation training. This is what makes him a top level fighter IMO. I think its going to be one helluva battle. I see Wandy walking away victorious in this one!

Wanderlei is the man, I hope he shows up with the “Axe Murderer” intensity like when he fought in Pride and knocks Jardine OUT COLD!!!!

I have a feeling wanderlei will come out like a bat out of hell and smother Jardine with aggression! He needs to just explode on Jardine and not give him any chances to set up his strikes.

Everytime Jardine throws a leg Kick, wanderlei has to make him pay for it with a right straight counter.

If we get to see wanderlei’s clinch game, it will mean plasitc surgery for the Dean of mean…

No matter how this fight place out it will be very exciting….Counting down the Dayz!!!!

i agree w/ your assesment. nothing against jardine, but wandi’s muay tai and conditioning will make all the difference.

I can’t really see what good the snorkel training does for him. He’s a mouth breather anyway! Throughout the whole interview you could hear him breathing through his mouth. His nose has been broken so many times he probably can’t breath through it anyway. Dudes training is pretty intense though, no question about his conditioning.

offtopic;…
I just read an interview with Travis Lutter on his recent “cut” from the UFC roster…
He also shares his feelings about how other fighters get treated by the UFC when they lose and how they treated Serra opposed to GSP, when Serra was Champ and GSP was challenger…
…good read for anyone who is interested.

its an okay read. he did seem to gas against rich and is a boring fighter. he was lucky they let him fight again after not making weight and got another high profile fight after(rich.) i dont see where he has much to complain about and disagree about serra. even if he loses to hughes i think he will still be around. he is not a boring fighter in or out of the cage, and could move back to lw where he started and is more well suited.

B.W: I would have to agree. Lutter and serra are like apples and oranges. Serra is exciting and has a personality. Lutter is a boring dud, who talks trash about Anderson Silva, and then cant fight 2 hard rounds against Franklin….This guy is a tool who has been built up by the UFC’s world class marketing team. They really tried to market him like he was some ju jitsu GOD or something…Get real, his ju jitsu is not elite at 185 lbs. Leites, almeida, and maia would all give him a run for his money on the ground.

I am happy that this out of shape idiot will no longer be taking up a spot on UFC main cards.

This is the same idiot who thought it was better to train by himself for his title fight against Silva. What pro fighters dont train with a camp? what an idiot@!!!

If Serra does lose to Hughesus, He should definetly move down to LW..You are 100% right on him being “more well suited” there..On the other hand I do hope he beats Hughesus and gets a rubber-match with GSP…It would be good for GSP to have both his loses avenged by beating the guy who beat him twice..

Lutter is a tool. He says he doesn’t understand why BJ has such a following? Umm, maybe it has something to do with the fact that he’s a two-time world champion? GTFO you dumbass.

Interesting article. Lutter needs to stop worrying about other guys and step his game up. I bet half of the fans that post on this website have less love handles \ man boobs than him. Franklin didn’t even do much to beat him that night and actually could have made a highlight reel out of him if he was trying harder. I kind of feel sorry for Lutter and all the heat he’s been getting but he’s fun to talk about.

Mike Goldberg: “Michael Jordan-esque in his grappling skills is Travis Lutter.”
Joe Rogan: “No. No he’s not.”

LMAO! I’ll never forget that!

this is going to be a great fight. i think the mistake that wandy made against chuck wasn’t his cardio. i think he wasn’t as aggressive as he usually is. i feel sorry for jardine, cause wandy is coming to kill whoever is on the other side of the octagon. wandy by major rape-age in second round! lol!!

i dont think it was a mistake not to rush Chuck…thats is how Chuck has KO’d most of the guys he has knocked out, because they tried to rush him and got nailed. However, against Jardine this is a different story. Wanderlei will need to rush him and stay inside with Jardine. If he uses the same gamplan he had against Chuck, then Wanderlei will lose I think. I think its interesting Wand wants to fight Chuck again, but I dont think Chuck vs. Wanderlei II will ever happen.

I would like to see it, but I don’t think it will happen either. I think Chuck will fight whoever it takes to rematch Rampage, and if he loses again, hang it up. I do think we will see a rematch of Chuck and Jardine though, especially if Jardine can beat Wandy.

Why is there so much hate for Jardine? He is a solid fighter that puts on a show. I am pulling for him. I don’t think he will make it, but I am pulling for him. Not hardly one person gave him a shot against Chuck….not even the UFC which is why they put the fight together.

That is my first time listening to W. Silva in a good interview. I was very impressed by his composure, demeanor and overall great attitude. For such an intimidating fighter he shows he is a class act and respectful fighter. I am always impressed by him performance and respect for fans but i am even more impressed how he carries himself outside the ring.I hope he wins 2-3 matches ( keith then Iceman) and gets his title shot

I have to say that I am continually impressed by Silva’s personality. I didn’t follow his career very closely until the rumors started flying that he was UFC-bound, but I have since caught up. He tries to put on exciting fights, he’s got great heart, he’s well conditioned. Besides that, in interviews he seems so humble, grateful, and thankful for everything; he truly goes out there to please the fans, and it’s a pleasure to watch him fight. I wish there were more Wanderleis and fewer Kimbos in MMA today.

I don’t hate the queen of mean, I just want to see Wandi get back in a a winning groove again. I think has as so much to offer the UFC because of his history in Pride. He was feared by all because in open weight fights he would battle Cro Cop and Fador…f n crazy. What fighter would step up to fight guys in HW…Rampage maybe, ok maybe Forest too.
WAR WANDI!!!

Wanderlei really has the potential to tear it up in the UFC light heavy, if he can keep up the intensity like he had fighting in Pridefc, he can totally get a shot at quintin jackson and feed him a beatdown sandwich. I just watched both of Silvas fights against jackson in japan, and I had to ice my face afterwards becuase silvas knees are just nasty. I hope he wins at ufc 85, I would like to see him spend a couple of years in the UFC. If Shogun gets his act together I’d like to see more of him too. Too former chute boxe elites!
