Yeh I’d like to see the fight too, either way, and yes Chuck did throw the first blow, but then Chuck is in a position to call out Kimbo…not the other way around. Second to that…Is Chuck the ONLY guy out there that has questioned Kimbo’s MMA stature?? No way, at least Chuck will be one of the few who isn’t trying to use Kimbo for his own exposure. I don’t think Chuck is the only guy to have called out Kimbo since his MMA release.
This fight will probably never happen..But we will get to hear Dana and Gary Shaw talk a bunch of shit about each others most popular fighters..They fight like a married couple..

how can you say kimbo is not in the position to call out chuck? once chuck bashed him in front of the mic, was kimbo supposed to keep quite and act like a coward? I’m sure that a fight between the two would end quick and it wouldn’t be in kimbo’s favor, but got to respect the man for not putting his tail between his legs and addressing chucky. Chuck hardly ever uses proper kickboxing and never uses jj or wrestling. Kimbo just re-signed a deal with EliteXC. Gary Shaw would LOVE to put Kimbo against Chuck. Dana is the one that would need to be spoken to in order for the fight to go down, but since he doesn’t co-promote, its not happening anytime soon.

No he does not, he hardly gets hit, some of the guys don’t even manage to hit him all fight. When he did get hit he went down very quickly, yes he got up but in mma he would have been murdered by a wrestler or BJJ guy as soon as he hit the floor.

Football has nothing to do with MMA. I have some very large athletic friends in the NFL and I train BJJ with an instructor that walks around at 165 lbs. Trust me when I say that my BJJ instructor could take care of himself against any of my friends in the NFL.
Is Kimbo big, strong, fast, etc.? Yes, on all counts. Can Kimbo defend a take down or sub attempt? That remains to be seen.

Until our best young athletes start trickling into MMA because its “cool” enough or it has enough popularity, I don’t think you can really say they are the best.

Its got every thing to do with MMA, its the SPORT that these guys are both PROFESSIONALY employed in. Every fight is a man on man fight. Chuck has the technique to VARY his fighting style, he has one of the best takedown defenses in MMA and that ability allows him to dictate the fight and keep it where he wants it. Kimbo lost to Sean Gannon who got DESTROYED in the UFC, can really see Kimbo lasting more than a round with Chuck.

I think comparing Kimbo to Rampage is an insult to Rampage. And I’m not a Kimbo hater. Kimbo has been very effective against untrained fighters and only time will tell if he can do anything with the world’s elite, most of whom have been beaten by Rampage. As Kimbo has fought so little as of yet professionally, there’s no way to compare him to Rampage at all. Does he have a ground game? How’s his takedown defense? What’s his conditioning? And yes, a big right can turn anyone’s lights out. But a skilled fighter avoids, blocks or absorbs that right far more often than not and turns it to his advantage. If he can make it that far, great. He obviously isn’t scared of anyone, and needs time, training, experience with lots of different camps etc. to become more seasoned and well rounded. Unfortunately, he needs to get out from under Gary Shaw’s (douchebag) shadow and fight with another organization down the line. Hopefully he has knowledgeable people surrounding him with his best interest at heart.

I understand why Kimbo had to respond to Chucks comments and I give Kimbo credit for standing up for himself. However, I think that Kimbo is way too overrated. He fought bums on the street and got popular because of the internet… plain and simple. Kimbo has not proven himself yet.

Chuck and Dana BOTH initiated the war of words between Liddell and Ferguson.
Kimbo is a very strong, determined striker. He is not a technical counter puncher like Chuck, Kimbo comes right at you. This is the perfect fight for Liddell on his feet because he will see the holes in Kimbo’s game and expose them immediately.
Kimbo is a decent fighter, I like him he’s very entertaining and very easy to promote (much to the liking of Gary Shaw). However, he is still new in the sport of MMA and is not in a position nor does he have the necessary experience to seriously challenge Liddell at this point in his career.
Chuck called him out first, so I don’t fault Kimbo for saying stuff back because in Kimbo’s head he can beat Chuck. I would love to see this fight in the future, right now is not the time, especially considering all the fighters (nameably Evans and Irvin among others) that have worked their way up to a spot where they can challenge Liddell.
think if this fight ever happened, then hack would make sure chuck uses lots of leg kicks, keep a distance, work the jab, wear out kimbo, few take downs, then take him out with punches, just to expose kimbo! chuck just gave his honest opinion on kimbo when asked, he didnt call him out, just a general observation, think he’s earned that right! sure kimbo is only starting out, but so did every other fighter, the majority of whom have had tougher fights to begin with, bo, tank, and now thompson, at least lesnar wanted mir!!
I’ve never seen more retarded comments in my life. 1. Chuck was responding to a questiong about Kimbo. He gave his opinion, and he is right. Chuck didn’t go out of his way to “hate on” Kimbo, he simply responded to a question that he’s been getting asked repeatedly by many of the same dumb fucks who post on every Kimbo story.
2. No one should think that Kimbo is a better fighter than Chuck for the simple fact that Chuck has beat the shit out of a laundry list of professional fighters, whereas Kimbo has beat two jabrones.
3. Kimbo is in an organization that will continuously match him up against glass jawed opponents who only want to stand up with him. They can try to build him into whatever they want, but sooner or later their strategy will fail and Kimbo will lose to one of the nobodies he’s being paired against.
4. Dana White and the Fertittas know far more about the sport of MMA than you do, they have millions riding on this. Bringing in a ‘thug’ and promoting him as a street fighter only sets back all the hard work Zuffa accomplished in the last 7 years. Believe me, if Kimbo ever beats someone good you’ll see him in the UFC.
