Brazilian jiu-jitsu players and Octagon veterans, Dean Lister (10-5) and Jeremy Horn (79-17-5), will meet up in a middleweight tilt at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 Finale at The Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 21, according to UFC.com.

Lister has won three of his last four bouts, including a recent unanimous decision win over Jordan Radev at UFC 79: “Nemesis” back in December 2007. The “Boogeyman” only competed one other time last year, losing to Nate Marquardt at UFC Fight Night 8 in January.

He spent most of 2007 recovering from a surgery to repair a badly torn biceps muscle.

Horn didn’t have much luck with Marquardt either, getting beat up and nearly decapitated in a standing guillotine choke to end the fight in the second round at UFC 81: “Breaking Point” in February 2007. It was his first time back in the Octagon since tapping top WEC middleweight contender, Chael Sonnen, with an armabr at UFC 60: “Hughes vs. Gracie” in 2006.

“Gumby” actually took the fight with Marquardt on short notice because of an injury to Thales Leites. He’s lost three of his last four fights, which means that this will be an important fight for one of the sport’s most recognized pioneers.

I really hope Horn wins. Don’t like seeing him on the losing side of a fight anymore.

I know, I’m starting to feel bad for Horn. His age doesn’t truely tell you how “old” he is. He’s had over 100 pro mma fights. Who else has? He has just been in too many fights over the years to continue to compete at the highest level of the sport. He would make a perfect gatekeeper to the guys on this season of TUF in thier 2nd fights – depending on which guy from TUF we are talking about.

Tim Credeur or CB Dalloway are ready. Have the first picks of each team ever met in the Finals of TUF? I don’t remember the first picks from the first season, but I doubt Florian or Forrest were Number 1 picks. Season 2, Joe Stevenson was Hughes’s first pick, but Luke Cummo was like the last to be picked. Neither Rashad nor Imes were first picks. I know that Bisping wasn’t a first pick in TUF 3, neither was Josh Haynes. I beleive Jesse Forbes was Shamrocks #1 and Hamil was Tito’s. Who was the first picks for season 5??? Was either Lauzon or Maynard for BJ and I think Cole Miller might have been Jens’s first pick? Last year if Joey “Sand in my Vagina” Scarola made it to the finals, he would have faced Mac who was Hughes’s first pick.

I watched all of CB Dalloway’s previous fights on his website. This kid is for real. He won via a 18 second slam TKO in his first fight! and he’s fought on HDnet fights as well. Tim Credeur is a serious thread to make the finals as well. However, I was very suprised that Chipper lasted on the ground with Credeur for as long as he did.

***Yo I got some news about the TUF Finale!***

There are not going to be many fights on the Finale involving the competitors from TUF 7. I believe there will only be about 4-5 TUF fights total on the finale. Which makes the finale a better event because only the best from the show will compete in the Fianle. Leaving more room for Veterans to fight each other. I pray to god that Horn vs. Lister does not get aired! Also they changed the main event. Tanner vs. Grove is now the main event, but Diego vs. Luigi will still be televised, so……No big deal!

I do know that Chipper Riddle is fighting at the Finale for sure! He could not reveal his opponent but he said its a fight us fans will all wante to see which leads be to believe he will be fight Dante, who he had all that beef with on this weeks episode.

Bonnar was Randy’s first pick, and Forrest was Chuck’s third pick. And Nate Diaz was Jens’ second pick.

Lister has sick Jiu Jitsu. Id love to see him win but I think Horn might take this one. A good match up would be Damian Maia Vs Dean Lister. That would be a Jiu Jitsu clinic on both sides.

Horn has good enough boxing that he should be able to outwork lister. He’s no slouch on the ground obviously, so i think the standup will make a big difference.

I think this fight will take place on the feet more then on the ground…I think eachothers ground game will clash, and they will slug it out..Hopfully!

We’ll see how different it is from their KOTC fight. Horn won that one, but I think he is on the downside while Lister has improved lately.

I’m excited for this fight, but I’m not sure it’s going to wind up being a great BJJ chess match. I’m worried that it’s gonna be like Nogueira-Werdum in Pride. It was a match of two amazing BJJ guys and it wound up being a boxing match. It was a good strategy for Nogueira because Werdum’s stand up was severely limited, but it didn’t make for an exciting fight. It would be a smart but boring strategy for Jeremy Horn to take in this fight.

that would be a logical thing for horn to do, so good point. hopeful he doesnt do it though. it would suck if this match was boring, cause it should be a good fight.

If they show this fight, this is one I will be hoping will go to the ground. Watching these two guys on their feet isn’t pretty. I still remember Horn saying that he thought he had better boxing than Lidell. Right. And the Boogie Man has better wrestling than GSP.
