I agree with you that it would make the HW division weaker, but I think a 225 lb division would get enough of the bigger 205’s to make a division that would be more interesting than the current HW divison. Still, I like your suggestion better than the current categories, as well. Because I definitely think that having 206-265 creates possible matchups of a 265 pounder vs. a 220 pounder that aren’t fun to watch.

You’re right… I should have said title shot. I think there are plenty of guys around the 225 lb range that would make this an exciting division. Both small HW’s and big LHW’s would fill this division deeper than the 185 lb division, not that that’s saying a lot. And yes, unfortunately I did see the Sylvia fight. But I do think Vera is more exciting when he’s fighting guys his size. He looked scared against Sylvia… despite his injury.

For once I agree with you Gord, Vera is one of my favorite HW and I think he’ll do great, he is easily a top contendar and it’s time we saw that in his opponents.

Vera said a LONG time ago , he likes to state his goals publicly, because it motivates him. ” I don’t want to drive around with LOSER on my license plates”. Vera probably made that bet. If you are the type who hates to be wrong, there is no better way, to make sure you do everything possible, to make what you say, HAPPEN. Vera will make it happen.

What’s even funnier is Rampage IS susceptible to Knees and Vera has brutal knees. Vera also has way better kicks, BJJ and moi thay. Not to mention his wrestling is top notch. Vera will finish Rampage, gaurranteed.

He TRAINS with Rampage. No one is seeing the similarity to Randy training with Sylvia. Randy KNEW he would win that fight, because he OWNED Tim in training. Vera has first hand knowlage of what he is getting into.
