I thought that I’d quote from some of the forums I’ve looked at because I hate Kalib “The Coward” Starnes too!
I agree with you all. My previous accomplishments should be completely forgotten. I’m “not a UFC level fighter”. My wins over Jason MacDonald and Chris Leben should be taken off my record. I am a “gutless coward”. What a horrible “piece of shit” I am! I am a “disgraceful fighter”. I “should never be allowed to fight again!” I should be “dragged through the streets and beaten to death” by an angry mob! I’m “The Worst Fighter Of All Time”, “The Laughingstock Of MMA”, “I hope there are agencies in Canada that take his child away from him”, “The Greatest Coward The World Has Ever Known”. I should be “kicked out of ATT”. I’ve never been hurt in a fight, in fact I “faked all of my doctors reports and xrays” just to get sympathy from the public. I am “a pussy”, “a loser”, “a liar”, I just “make up excuses all the time”, I’m just an “awful human being”. Can you even think of anyone or anything as awful and shitty as me? I’m “pathetic!” What “a joke!” What “a clown!” I’m “a bitch”. I “should be killed!” I make me “want to puke!”. I’m sorry if I forgot to quote you, but I’m sure that somebody will come along and continue the insult list for me. My favorite one so far is how my “kid should be beaten up at school”, she’s a kind beautiful little five year old little girl who I love more than anything. I can’t believe that I didn’t fight to the death to entertain you people! What was I thinking?

I would agree with seth that they are grossly underpaid. They should get a 50k minimum and 100k for the win plus expenses……

Hey VIVID! First, health care in canada varies by province and none of them pay for every last cent.Employers and Individuals pay a monthly premium - everybody pays but yes the system is subsidized, but aint nuthin free in this country.
That’s a myth just like the notion that you know anything about anything or that Starnes is a fighter.
He’s a total embarassment to us here in BC…….

Look, I agree 100% that Starnes Pussied out in this fight. I agree that it was a waste of the fans time and it was totally the wrong move if, in fact, Kalib was trying to “prove a point”. He is clearly a better fighter than what he displayed (even if he is still a “B” fighter) and he really hurt his career by running from Quarry.

All that being said, Kalib has some legit gripes. His reputation as a “pussy” is blown out of proportion. He fought with a broken leg on the Ultimate Fighter–thats pretty tough. Also, he DID NOT want to stop fighting against Belcher when the cut happened, it was the Doc who stopped it cuz you could see his skull. Clearly he’s not the type of fighter who will get that “warrior” label attached to him, but he’s also about average in toughness, not a complete pussy as most think.

The fact that he only got paid $4k for that fight against Belcher is pretty bad–in fact, getting paid $4k for any UFC televised bout is insaine. Boxers get Millions to fight, I believe these fighters are getting taken advantage of by the UFC. They are professional athletes making millions for the UFC, and they are getting paid less than you and I at our office jobs.

Here comes the damage control. Starnes saying he asked to be released. Okay, he whines about not getting paid enough but people in most any profession get pay raises based on their performance. If this little whiner woulda actually fought he could have been doubling his take-home each time and been able to get a healthier new contract.

Good luck getting paid better by any other promoters after that performance. If you have ever heard him, Starnes is always trying to act so intellectual and sound off on socio-political subjects. Now he can continue to wait for his welfare. Go look for your handout elsewhere.

They should give Jason Macdonald the boot too! There was no question the the ref ended the fight before J-Mac gave Joe a few more shots to the face.In my opinion this is no longer sport and now becomes assult. This should be used as an example to anyone that wants to keep going when its over. Drop J-mac!! Hes boring fighter anyways and showed he isnt a contender. At least suspend him to make an example.

Dana knows that 99.9% of fighters want a contract with UFC bad and are willing to sign anything put in front of them. Any fighter that gets a big name the first bitch they got is about how the contracts suck.

The Octagon is too big. If someone wants to run, you’ll never catch him. If I’m a promoter looking t o use Kalib after this. I’ll have to have a phone booth match. Just put a phone booth in the middle of the cage, lock them both inside and see what happens. They’ll be no running though.
