OK, guys, here’s the deal. Silva walks around at 215+ lbs. Which means he always cuts 30 lbs. to fight 185. It’s not easy cutting that much weight. Hince the reason he is now starting to fight at 205. GSP walks around at 185. If GSP gets 4 to 6 months to solidify the weight he carries naturally, he will fight at 100%. Silva will not be, as he will have a small degree of exhaustion. You know, because he has to cut 30 lbs. to be 185. That, in my opinion, is the deciding factor for GSP to win over Silva. Silva has the reach advantage, the height advantage, and he’s the best at timing strikes. But, you have to concede that GSP has better endurance, wrestling, and he’s more well rounded. Not to mention, GSP is used to fighting in the most skilled weight bracket, by far. GSP has a couple of loses to prove it. Maybe, Silva looks so good because he fights lower skilled fighters. “In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.” I think GSP/Silva would go exactely like GSP/Alves. Silva would have no answer for GSP when he’s laying on his back.

I think gsp has the perfect style to beat silva because anyone who has ever came close to beating him recently were people who took him down and as you know gsp’s takedowns are pin point timing as well and once gsp has him on the ground he will ground and pound him for the decision

GSP wrecks on a lot of guys that are smaller in stature and physical size/strength. he is a good wrestler and ground n pound with great kickboxing, but silva outweighs him by 50 pounds on a day to day basis and has a 6 inch reach advantage… basically GSP would get PWN3d

just think about it, BJ penn gave him a tough fight lol and so did Tiago

you guys either overestamating silvia or underestimating gsp… george absolutly crushed BJ, made him look like a fool for even trying… gsp is made of stone and trains with THE BEST athletes in every part of his fighting game… i think tim said it right when gsp would be absolutly huge at 185… silvia’s good… really good…. but i think gsp would take it in round 4 or 5…. it wouldnt be another 2 rounder for silv.

GSP vs SILVA would be the best fight, biggest money maker of ufc history. yes silva is bigger than gsp, but you have to picture gsp at 185…he said he would fight at 185 to fight silva, gsp would be huge at 185, he is already a beast at 170. gsp killed, i repeat, killed fitch in their match. destroyed bj penn, if gsp beats alves at ufc 100, there is no reason for gsp to stay at welterweight. silva plans on retiring in september. atleast take the biggest pay check of your career with you!!

i hate how everyone thinks silva wud destroy gsp. If GSP took silva down, which he definately could, he cud work the ground and pound for sure. stand up goes to silva, but GSP is one of the best wrestlers in MMA, and wrestlers make the best mma fighters

No there are not.

Anderson will defend his belt at least 20 more times before he retires
and no one in welterweight comes even remotely close to gsp’s skill. Gsp destroyed the top two contenders in welterweight. I don’t even recall Matt Hughes or Serra landing a single hit on Gsp.

I say let the two fight to see who is the greatest in the world.
