MMARATED Jesse Holland

MMAmania.com senior writer, Jesse Holland, was recently back ranting on the radio, speaking with Ariel Helwani of MMARated.com to discuss UFC 83: “Serra vs. St. Pierre 2.”

To listen to the audio segment right now click here.

Holland and Helwani covered the main card bouts in great detail, providing one last look at the historic foray of the UFC into Canada for the first time ever.

Here are the highlights:

  • Can Serra pull off the upset again?
  • Will GSP get too nervous in front of the Montreal crowd?
  • Did Matt Serra cross the line with all his comments leading up to the fight?
  • What to expect from Franklin vs. Lutter?
  • How easily, if so, will Michael Bisping defeat Charles McCarthy?
  • Why has McCarthy been so confrontational?
  • Is this do-or-die for Kalib Starnes?
  • Is Nate Quarry full healthy?
  • How good can Cain Velazquez be?

There’s lots more right here. Check it out when you have some time and feel free to rip Jesse a new one in the comments sections below.

It’s fun.

Yeah, Serra wins via TKO over some dude outside UFC, in a couple of months. First he will be schooled by GSP tomorrow, then by M. Hughes in a couple of months and we’ll finally see Serra out for good.

155 or 185?

155??? thats a really intelligent take. I’m almost 100% sure he can’t make that weight, and for what? to get dominated by BJ?? might as well wait for BJ to come to you (to beat you) than go to him!!!

OK, I will. Jesse, you’re so dumb when you sit around the house you really sit around the house. You’re so ugly it takes you an hour and a half to watch 60 Minutes. I kid, I kid. Enjoyed the discussion.

I like the fact that there’s a good mix on the site. Some for Serra, some GSP.. Most of us speaking inteligently too. Good job guys, can’t wait to hear the crowd when GSP is laying on his back out cold!!

Jesse,
McDonald never called himself the TUF Killer. People gave him that name. However, he seems to like it. ;-)

BTW I think you need to learn the correct pronunciations of fighters names. However, I agree with you picks but I give Goulet more of a change then you think.

Serra is a loud mouth, the guy won the king of the loser’s show and got a title shot that at least 3 other fighters should have got. This fight is over fast, GSP is going to KNOCK OUT Serra in the first 3 minutes and bring that gold back to CANADA!!!

Did you copy and paste that from a thread before their first fight?
