If i was Coleman i wouldn’t even train for this fight… no matter what he does its gonna end up the same result. That way he can just walk into the cage get beat up and get paid… he wouldn’t have to work for it at all just get beat up for a while.
I’m sure the UFC wouldn’t object to Coleman not training to fight their newest shiny toy - Lesnar.
Setting up a fight like this shows such a lack of compassion and respect to the sport and to the fighters. They take advantage of the fighters. Of course fighters will always take a challenge. It’s up to managers and ufc people to make sure it is the right fight. This reminds me of Royce Gracie Matt Hughes. It made my stomach churn then, it’s makes my stomach churn now. This fight proves nothing. We wanna see waht Brock Lesnar is made of. Putting him in a easy win fight against Coleman does nothing for real fans and nothing for him. I dont think he should be fighting top 10 heavies at this stage of his career. But I dont he should be fighting way past their prime fighters who have name recognition. This is such a disprectful thing. Shame on Dana, The Ferrtitas and Joe Silva. Why not have him go against good heavyweight fighters like Antoni Hardonk,Justin Mcully,Christian Wellish to see where he is in his development. Can they not give us some more credit and see we dont want to see Circus fights. We are smarter.
What a horrible way for Coleman to end his Hall of Fame career. I’m not jumping on the Lesnar bandwagon, but he looked like he had a very good skill base against Mir and looked to be about a half an inch from getting out of the initial grip of Mir. But he didn’t. I’m not going to make excuses.

Coleman wanted to return to the UFC at 205. He’s too small to beat Lesnar with his still set. Nelson accurately broke down how Brock is better in every aspect than Coleman, especially a 40+ year old Coleman.
I still don’t understand this fight. It’s more WWE than MMA, meaning it’s being done purely for the money it could draw rather for any real MMA appeal. It certainly has absolutely no relevance to the UFC HW divison.

It’s not gonna happen. Even if Lesnar lost, he would still have a contract because he is marketable. He sells pay per views, tickets, and is drawing new fans to the sport. There is no way the UFC will let go of him just after two losses. By the way, Lesnar wins by stoppage in the first round.

I respect coleman for being the godfather of ground n pound and accomplishing so much in the early years of mma. But lets be real, Cloeman has looked ken-shamrock-ish in the past couple of years. This will not turn out good for Coleman!

yeah if I remember correctly, he had Mir side-mounted and threw quite a few hammer shots and couldn’t put him away..even with the SIZE XXXXL GLOVES? He’s a circus act only brought into the UFC to draw in new WWE fans. My opinion, send to EliteXC to fight Kimmy slice. Good riddance.
Well, Lesnar is a world-class wrestler, which puts him in the same class with a lot of other UFC stars (Hughes, Koscheck, Sherk, to name a few). He is easily the strongest UFC fighter and has the speed of a lightweight to go with it. Add that to his improving stand-up and you have an exciting MMA star and a potential champion down the road a few years. Remember, he’s only been at this for about two years, and unlike certain other heavyweights, he asked to fight the best opponents he could get right away instead of getting chumps who were paid to take dives.
Speed of a lightweight? If he had the speed of a lightweight he wouldn’t of got caught in the kneebar while transitioning, he would’ve always been in a dominating postion which he clearly was not.
Lesnar avoided several sub attempts from one of the best HW submission fighters on the planet. Up until that point he was dominating the fight. Those sorts of things happen when a relatively inexperienced fighter takes on a former champ. Mark my words, Lesnar will be the HW champion before he retires.

Coleman plays exactly into Brocks strengths so it should be an easy win for him. Coleman has no standup and relies heavily on his G & P, like the quote said Brock will smash him on the feet and then on the ground.
Afterwards everyone can quote how Brock just beat a hall of famer… former UFC champ… former pride grand prix champ etc and get even more hype for him.
As bad of a decision as it was to put Brock against a BJJ expert like Mir was this is the opposite, hats off to whoever thought to put a large carrot infront of Coleman.

Ah No… If Brock wins he should get Kongo as someone else before myself suggested. The two biggest HW’s in the UFC and Kongo could try to test that new found wrestling against one of the better HW wrestlers (Brock was 156 - 4 in NCAA wrestling)
As much as I dont want to see Heath vs Mintaruo 4, if he has one more win over a quality oppontent (such as Werdum) I think he may deserve a shot just cause there is really no one else.
Brock was winning the mir fight and got caught due to inexperience.Lesnar has legit wrestling and is working hard ot get the other facets in his game.The fact is against the majority of heavyweights under contract i see lesnar being able to put a pretty bad beating on.

Brock is going to be A MONSTER in time. And the good thing is that the UFC has quality HW’s to put him up against.
So Brock is fast? Not even close… The only thing Brock has is taking down Coleman and holding him down. Granted I dont think Coleman has what it takes to win this fight (IE, sick Jujitsu or KO power) but there is no way Id say Brock is faster, or even begin to say he has better standup.

Lesnar has freakish athletic ability. His speed and quickness are on par with any lightweight’s. Coleman will be completely overwhelmed. Lesnar can pound him out or, if he wants to, tap him just to make a point.
I guess you didn’t listen to Mir after the fight.He was suprised at Brock’s speed. The true MMA fans that really know the sport can see that Brock will be good. Experince is all he needs.

NOBODY has taken Coleman down in mma before, nobody. Talking Lesnar up in training is one thing but can he do it in front of millions of people? Coleman has been in there with the best of the best, Fedor, Nog, Mirko etc. He has the mma experience.

It will be interesting to see how Lesner takes a punch or a knee to the face. Coleman is a strong dude,he will still have knockout power.
