The official weigh-in for UFC 83: “Serra vs. St. Pierre 2″ will take place this Friday (April 18) at 4 p.m. ET at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Not surprisingly, the pre-fight festivities for the first-ever show for the promotion in Canada, which takes place the following day (Saturday, April 19), will be beamed LIVE across the Internet via streaming video.
In fact, ESPN.com, NBCSports.com, Sympatico MSN, Yahoo!Sports.com and FoxSports.com will all air the weigh-in for UFC 83 LIVE on their Web sites this Friday, according to UFC.com.
Pick your poison.
MMAmania.com will, of course, post the results during the weigh-in as it happens. Therefore, feel free to stop in and share your thoughts on the scale-tipping show or check us out later on if for some reason you can’t catch the live broadcast.
For those fortunate enough to be in Montreal this weekend remember that the UFC 83 weigh-in is free to attend and open to the general public. Doors open at 3 p.m. and close at 5 p.m. local time.
It’s a great opportunity to get some fighter autographs, snap some photos and get pumped for the big show. In fact, UFC Fight Club members are able to attend a special Q&A session at 1 p.m. ET and are eligible for priority seating during the weigh-in.
UFC 83 features the welterweight title fight between reigning division champion, Matt Serra, and interim 170-pound titleholder, Georges St. Pierre. In addition, a glut of middleweight match ups are slated for the show, including the showdown between former 185-pound champion, Rich Franklin, and the super tough Travis Lutter.

jus cant wait for the fight.
gotta date on that day & imma be home before the fight starts =)
gonna be a good frickin day
Anyone know which fighter is booked for the Q&A session? It’s odd that its not announced this late… guessing its probably Forrest Griffin or Rashad Evans.
On Tonights episode of the Ultimate Fighter I am pretty sure that a fighter gets kicked out of the house for having a staph infection. I hope its not one of the better fighters.
DreamFighters.com has learned that Matt Lindland has been officially added to the July 19th Affliction’s card!
Quote from Matt Lindland:
“I don’t know who my opponent is yet, but I do finally have a date,” Lindland said.
Lindland, the one time leader in UFC career wins, has not fought since losing to Emelianenko in Russia last April.
“But I don’t take anything for granted until I step into the ring.”
“I have been taking it slow,” he said. “About six weeks out, I will begin my hard training.”
Many fighters have been rumored to be on this July 19th card, but the only confirmed fight is with Fedor and Sylvia. Now we can add Matt lindand to that official standing.

***Why Dennis Kang did not sign with the UFC***
The 30-year-old(kang) would love to fight in North America, it does not appear he will find a home in the UFC.
“Yes, we were (negotiating with the UFC),” Kang said. “I would have loved to fight in the UFC. I would love to fight in North America and not have to travel 12 hours for a change. At the end of the day, it came down to where I want to be represented at the moment and who was offering the best contract.”
The best contract, it seems, was one that would allow the half-Korean fighter to compete in South Korea’s SpiritMC organization on an annual basis. Kang has fought 10 times in the organization since 2004, winning all 10 fights, and is still the SpiritMC heavyweight champion.
However, the UFC requires exclusive contracts, which prohibit fighters from competing in other organizations. Such a limitation would have alienated many of Kang’s fans.
“SpiritMC was only asking that I fight for them once a year,” Kang said. “That’s one of the things that I really, really wanted to do — to keep my SpiritMC title and keep my fan base in Korea, which is really important to me.”
Instead, Kang will continue his career in Japan, and he hopes to begin a successful run in DREAM’s first ever middleweight grand prix with a victory over a very game opponent.
So basically the UFC fans lost out on Kang because Dana White was not willing to let him fight once a year in some crappy organization in Korea. Would it have killed Dana to let him fight in that low level organization? Doubt it! That organization doesnt even get any coverage, nobody would even know he was fighting there….,What a SHAME!

QUICK QUESTION: When Monte Cox first started his new MMA organization, well re-naming it after Fedor became a free agent, wasn’t it named “Adrenaline”????
Everything I’ve seen of late refers to it as “Affliction”.
So which is it?
Sweet. I am looking forward to all of this.
Thanks for all the news..
ViolentMike: Adrenaline and Affliction are 2 different organizations. Monte Cox is in charge of Adrenaline which I believe is putting together a chicago event with Monson vs. Russow (Yawn) as the main event.
Affliction is a different organization that is rumored to have that Moster card with Fedor vs. Sylvia and now Lindland is also booked for the event.
Stager Lee: No problem, the mma future looks bright starting in May…Should be a very exciting next couple of months.
WAIT A MINUTE JOHN. So that means that Tim Sylvia did not join Monte Cox’s organization? Cox “owned” M-1 Global which became Adrenaline. Tim Sylvia was hinting at leaving the UFC to join Monte and M1. So did Sylvia sing with Cox and Adrenaline, and they are cross promoting the event with Affliction? If Timmy and Fedor gets signed, what organization is Fedor officially fighting for? Is it 1 fight contract? Hmmmmmmmmm.
I think it was a bad idea to name two brand new MMA organization practically the same - it gets confusing.
Yeah it is really confusing. Fedor will probably sign 1 fight contracts at a time. As for Monte Cox and his “Adrenaline”, lets be real, it wont be a real fight organization. It will be more of like an Agency that puts on its own shows like once every 4 months. Occasionally they will probably cross promote.
Affliction is the company that was supposed to work together with GoldenBoy productions, not sure if they officially baked out or not.
I think Sylvia did join Cox’s organization, but he will be pimped out to other organizations because in reality Adrenaline will be able to carry too many cards on their own.
Dana White is doing the Q&A @ 2pm for fight club members.
The fighter booked for the q&A session is Dana White.
Dana White is speaking at the q and a session. HE’s the fighter.
I would Maul Dana White with tough questions!
Can’t wait for the fights..

If GSP has the look on his face that he does in that pic, he’ll tear into Serra and embarass him like he did to Hughes the last two times.

Happy Days!
Well…Here’s Serra’s only hope. If GSP makes weight it’s all over.
The Q&A is at 2pm actually. Registration begins at 1, but will most likely last until almost 2.
