lol, it was a good fight, but in the end le was pummelling him, shamrock was down at the end of the third, staggered and done.and not because of his arm. if there was 20 seconds left he would have gotten knocked out. if he would have come out for the 4th it would have been more of a pummeling. i think shamrock is a great fighter, but he was never close to winning this fight. he never had le at any point, though he did land some good shots.

The words “almost” & “if” are words that they they use in fairy tales. At the end when you look at it and comment its really “coulda, woulda, shoulda”. The whole world knows that Cung could strike. The whole world knows that submissions are something Cung is new to. Don’t have a solid game plan and when you lose say that “oh, if I done something else, he’ll lose for sure”. Why didn’t you do that in the first place. I think it’s time Frank review his coaches & ego.

frank shamrock is one of the best pound for pound fighters of today hes in his prime right now and hes 35 but he’ll never be as good as his brother ken shamrock in his prime hes unbeatable i love those guys

frank did have a good game plan, he try to take le down 3 times in the first round but , did not work for frank .le is better stand fighter .i love this fight and respect both frank and le . i have to said le is better that night no ??????

Frank did have him hurt for a moment there. But he should shut up already cause he didn’t finish him off when he had the chance and now he lost the fight. Nothing you can do about it now Frank…get over it and move on.

Cung Le’s timing and accuracy in his stand-up, combined with good wrestling, combined with Frank’s bad knee means Frank would have taken some licks if he tried to shoot in. I know Frank had great takedowns in his younger days, but age and wear and tear has taken that strength away. His takedowns come mostly from body locks (a la Fedor), but it’s very hard to get inside on Cung.

It’s kinda like Chuck’s style. Is Chuck versed on the ground? Probably not. Has he ever been submitted? No.

Frank’s mistake was not that he didn’t shoot, but he should’ve faked the shot and come upstairs with a punch more often (he did it once in the 3rd and rocked Cung).

Cung’s kryptonite is not a BJJ specialist. It’s a Greco wrestler with G&P skills. There’s not much BJJ you can do if you can’t take a guy down, unless you try a flying heel hook like Ryo on Anderson lol.

I will no longer order nor watch Showtime’s MMA. It appears that the Shamrocks are “throwing” their fights. Look at the way both Shamrocks lost their fights. Frank looked like he was not even fighting 100%. Ken Shamrock’s last fight was a laugh- look at the punch that supposedly TKO’s him. Watch the punch landing in slow motion. The punch appears not to even land on his face cleanly.

btw, why is everyone on here always saying that “ooooh cung doesnt know bjj, frank shamrock would tool him on the ground”

remember that cung has a very solid wrestling background (VERY solid), so even if Frank could take him down, he would certainly have trouble holding him down.

Cung also knows enough bjj to temporarily avoid shamrocks submissions until then.

He may be an arrogant ass, but you can’t say he isn’t one of the best in the sport. When he rocked Le, I thought it would be over right there untill Le came back. Cung is lucky he did come back at the end of that round, because Frank would have had him on the ground if he didn’t. But, such is the beauty of the sport, you just never know.
